Absolutely love this place.. always stop by to look around when were in town. Staff is so friendly. But we had stopped in before we had gone to dinner and an hour later when we got to the restaurant the staff had called the restaurant because someone left behind their keys. How very thoughtful! THANK you staff!

Definitely a must see place when traveling to the Haymarket! They always have a great selection of handmade products from all around the world. And part of the profits go back to the community that it came from.

I certainly recommend 10,000 villages number one reason why I would recommend this for people all of their profits go to communities around the world from the artwork that they sell. Number two reason is that they have amazing merchandise certainly will shop here again.

I went into Ten Thousand Villages about a month ago looking for a few gifts for my Girlfriend’s birthday as this is her favorite store in all of Lincoln and I can definitely see why! First, I want to start by saying the two employees that served me were exceptionally courteous and friendly. Second, I asked them for specificities about what I was looking for and they knew exactly where to look in order to help me and were very accommodating. Lastly, I very much enjoyed the massive selection of products and had no issues getting her a selection of wonderful gifts, and she was very happy with what I got - with the help of their staff, of course.I highly recommend this place for gifts and for free trade products! Very satisfied.

Awesome store with a great mission. All products are fair trade. This means the artisans who made them got paid up front and got a good price for their work.Great place for gifts and home decor. The fair trade chocolate and coffee taste great. They offer free samples of both so stop in and give them a try. Also, follow them on social media to find out about fun events, like dragon dancers demonstrations on how chocolate is made and local musicians.Every first Friday they host a drum circle and usually have something else going on as well.During the farmers market they have a person selling henna tattoos, musicians and more.

Wonderful place. Handmade items from all over the world. They bring them to the States to be sold on the artists behalf, earning then a larger profit here than they could achieve in their home countries. These are authentic hand made pieces. Really cool concept. They told me 90% of staff are volunteer.

This store was started locally in Lincoln 35 years ago to help artisans in other parts of the world have sustainable income through handicraft sales. It is mostly run by volunteers and is a nonprofit, fair trade organization. Its a mission based retail store. These prices will not be comparable to Hobby Lobby, Target or Joanns. These items are handmade and the people who made them were paid a fair wage for their work (as opposed to sweat shop or factory working conditions). The prices here reflect this mission.Go here for unique gifts that have a lot of meaning behind them. They also sell fair trade coffee, tea, chocolate and other consumables. To address some of the concern about hours, they are open Monday-Wednesday 10 AM-6 PM and Thursday-Saturday 10 AM-9 PM and Sundays 1 PM-5 PM which is actually a lot of hours and a wide range of times/options for people with all kinds of work schedules.

My daughter and I visited in May and were very excited to find some bracelets that we could share. Unfortunately the day after we got home both of them broke. We contacted the store and they said that they would send us replacements, but they never did.

Horribly high prices for stuff you could make yourself. The lady running it that day followed me around the entire store until I confronted her. DO NOT GO HERE!!! Go to Whole Foods if you want to help people, or even the homeless shelter! Just dont go here.
