Tyler was very helpful! I was looking for a specific bike and after some failed and difficult experiences at another place in town, I messaged him to see if he by any chance had it. He had one and asked when I’d like to see it and he’d have it put together for me. He had it ready a day later and he helped give me advice on what height to put the seat after I admitted this was my first bike in awhile and I wasn’t quite sure how to fit it properly. He helped carry it outside and let me have space as I tried it out (which as someone who wasn’t sure if I could even ride a back anymore was super relieving to me instead of a pushy salesperson experience). After I decided it’s what I wanted he offered up suggestions for any additions to it. I got a kickstand but I’m sure I’ll be back after a few rides and once I figure out what else might be handy.I see some harsh reviews but I wanted to make sure to give my experience as a young woman who didn’t know much about bikes! It was a super comfortable experience to me. He’s doing some really cool builds in there - I know as I learn more about bicycles and what I like I’ll end up back at Recycled Bicycles!

I don’t know where else I could’ve gotten a quality bike for the price I paid here. I honestly have no idea what all the one stars are about.Ive bought two bikes from Tyler in the last two months (My first one was stolen 😔) both times he was able to listen to my requirements for a bike and help me find one that fit my size and everything I wanted. He was kind and very approachable.Tyler also went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. He put my reflectors on my bike for me, he attached the lock holder to my frame, he let me test ride, and he filled up my tires. With each purchase he makes sure you know that you have the serial number and passes out a sheet that has instructions on how to register your bike.He was honest when I would pick out a bike, saying things like that may be a bit small or I dont know if thats the one youre looking for even when it meant that I was going to buy a cheaper bike. On my second visit, he gave me a brand new bike $100 off, since I came back to him after my bike got stolen. The interior of the store has everything you could need. Hes got water bottle carriers, bike baskets, reflectors, bells, locks, new chains, and a huge slew of tools and equipment for bike tune ups.The prices are the best Ive seen around town (which is why Ive bought TWO bicycles from him) and the fact that the business owner is the sole employee makes your experience much more personal and genuine.Thank you, Tyler. I will recommend you and your store whenever I can.

Going in there was like Monty Pythons Ministry of Abuse. It is quite funny after I cooled off and thought of it that way. To the man who plans to buy his wife a new bike there, send in somebody to set him off first. Then ask yourself if you want to support his business. You might find out why most ratings are one or five stars.

Had the bike tuned, rack mount fixed and was able to repair the hub for the flat tune up fee, which was a huge bargain to begin with, all on the day he said itd be done. Customer service was professional and knowledgeable. Ill be a loyal customer after a great, professional experience and unreal value.

Im sorry sir, but in order to operate a successful business in customer service, you must change your attitude towards customers. ALL of them. Believe they are good people, and strive to be helpful in their lives. They will repay you for it.If they truly prove to be trying to take advantage of you, then you may kindly inform them that they are not welcome to come to your store. If they actually steal from you, get the police involved, but you must be kind to your customers.Either change your behavior, or change your career.I say this as one customer service worker to another, I hope you find the change in your heart that brings you success.

I went to the store yesterday looking for a tag along bike for my kids. I was rudely told, no! we dont have one. When I looked at a sweet vintage bike, and asked some questions, the owner was a complete jerk to me. Ive owned 8 road bikes in my life and 1 high end mountain bike. Im always looking for bike, N+1. If the bearded guy took ANY effort, I would have bought the used bike. Instead, he was a jerk. Its really disappointing, he clearly has a good eye and stocks great bikes. Id love to be proved wrong, but given the owners immediate negative response, Im not holding my breath. To clarify to readers, Tylers first response, was N+1? Grow up. Then he changed it to the current version.N + 1 is the answer to the question, how many bikes is the correct number to own? Of course, most folks know N is a variable standing for as many as you own.Its hard to understand how Re-Cycled Bicycle stays in business after reading the reviews. Its also hard to understand who Tyler would be happy to see in his store. Apparently middle aged guys who own bikes and like to buy bike stuff arent his target audience.See, it keeps changing. Apparently, manhandled and carefully are synonymous for Tyler. So, you only sell bikes to people who need them? Keep diggin my man!

Re-Cycled is the one shop my daughter and I can count on to have parts, tubes, and tires for her vintage Schwinn in stock. Our interactions with Tyler have always been efficient and pleasant. All bike shops are afflicted with shoppers who do not value the knowledge, expertise, and especially time of mechanics. As a bike service shop, Re-Cycled depends on fixing bikes, not sales of low-priced miscellany, for its survival. If you want super inexpensive or even free stuff, a single pedal, a place to unload your department store bike, I suggest The Bike Kitchen. If you want honest answers, quality wrenching, and a no BS experience, Re-Cycled has you covered. If you wouldnt hassle your physician for free stuff, or expect your attorney not to bill you for their time, have some courtesy and dont waste the time of small business owners who pay double the taxes of those of us who work for others, often dont have health coverage and generally take big risks to operate their businesses. Those of you on the immediate neighbourhood, be thankful for Re-Cycled. How would you like to have vacant buildings there? Finally, when you leave a review its disingenuous to complain and slander while leaving out the details of your own behaviors.

A lot of the reviews this shop has received are a combination of unfair, ridiculous, and pure comedy. I’ve visited a few times for random bike bits and never spent more than ten bucks. As such, I didn’t have any expectation that the owner provide any sort of small talk. I got what I needed, took a peak at his amazing tool collection as he was ringing me up, and then promptly left. As a long-time cyclist who does my own bike work and owns a somewhat extensive set of my own bike tools, it was immediately obvious to me that the owner, Tyler, is an excellent mechanic with a lot of passion for quality bicycles; and it seems that old Schwinns might be one of his many specialties. I think its safe to assume that hes very likely a diamond in the rough because bike mechanics who are competent and skilled in both old and new bicycle components/mechanics are incredibly rare. The vast majority of bike mechanics would freeze like deer in headlights if a customer ever brought in a bike with cottered cranks. This shop would know exactly what to do, on the other hand, and thats something which takes a lot of tenacity, talent, and knowledge.

I tried to call and ask about what bikes would work for my situation. I had stated I would like to be around the $250 range, and understand a lower end Trek or Specialized new would be around $500. Before I could explain that if I where going to spend that much I would rather but one of their used bikes because I would get more for my money and I was open for ideas he stated it was unfortunate to be in my situation and hung up on me. I tried to call back, it went to the machine, I left a message hoping to get a call back, then called again to hopefully get someone and they picked up and hung up. Hopefully they see this and understand they misread our conversation and I was not looking for something for nothing and call back so I can discuss bikes with them.

Had a shocking and frankly threatening experience here. I went in with my three year old daughter to find a wheel replacement. He showed me the one he had and as I was looking he noticed that my daughter was holding one of the plastic tire levers. He kind of made a slight annoyed noise and asked her to put it back. I assisted in asking her to keep them in the box. Understandable, he wants to keep things in good shape. After looking at the wheel and deciding that it was not the one I was looking for he put it away. I had a few other basic questions and as I was asking him he began violently throwing stuff that was on top of his counter underneath it. At this point I said ok to my daughter lets go. Up to this point I had been nothing but kind and generally inquisitive but clearly this was uncomfortable. He came around from his counter and said you need to get out of here now in more than just a rude tone, it was borderline aggressive. I said hey yeah we are going now. I picked up my daughter and as I was walking toward the door he followed behind me less than a foot away and started an overtly aggressive slew of comments about my daughter and the fact that I came in and didnt buy anything. It was not just mad it was aggressive and his body language was postured as if he was ready to use physical aggression. I told him hey man we are leaving the store please back away and give us some space . This absolutely set him off and his speed of walking and posture became even more threatening. He followed us out in to the parking lot continuing to yell at us. I, holding my daughter exclaimed to him that he needs to back away now. I was feeling so threatened that I had to tell him that I would not hesitate to use the wheel to defend myself and that I was ready to call the police. With this he made a step at me and I had to raise the wheel up to show him I was serious. He backed away and went back to the door of the shop and continued to yell from there as I got my daughter in the car. As I backed out and passed his shop to the street he was still yelling now threatening that he was going to call the police, also while taking pictures of my license plate.Just for reference I believe his name is Tyler, he has a long beard. This was absolutely bizarre and I left shaking obviously never to return. Please do not go to this store and if you know anyone that is thinking about going to a bike shop please inform them not to go here. There are plenty of other awesome bike shops in town and all of them are at the very least kind and helpful.

I left this store feeling used, violated, and degraded and yet still unsated in my thirst for new bikes. Thats the kind of experience I would go to my ex-wife for, not a bike shop.I went in to see if I could purchase a tricycle for my daughter. Upon being asked if he had any tricycles, owner proceeded to explain in great detail his disdain for children and anyone else to might dare to set their hindquarters on the seat of a tricycle. His breath kind of smelled like whiskey and he looked like he was getting ready to deck me. Overall I was quite shocked, and out of fear begged him to let me buy a used bicycle instead, which calmed him somewhat.Owner insisted upon spitting into his hand and shaking mine before closing our deal. I thought it was pretty weird but I didnt know if refusing would set him off again, so I just did it. My hand is still sticky as i type this. As I walked out of the store, he started talking to himself about how I was a crack addict.Bike was pretty solid though, nice bikes if you dont mind getting yelled at and slobbered on. On 8-18-2016 at 11:30 a.m. I went to this shop being that it was one block from my house. I had been to the Bike Rack (excellent) to have a flat tire fixed. They did a superb job! The problem is that I did not know how to put my front tire back on my bike. Thinking that I could just skip on down to Re-Cycled Bicycle and ask for one minute of assistance to put my front wheel back on my bike. This jerk of a sub-human told me it would be $20.00. I am in fact an educated bike consumer that was looking for something special for my son and for myself. You have no idea what you are losing by treating people with such disrespect. I am not sure what you had to gain from insulting me and then following me into the parking lot to continue your tirade, but as anyone can see from the pattern of experiences in the other reviews that you have no intentions of changing the way you treat your customers. So go ahead and defend yourself now as we all appreciate the irony of how google reviews are not my metric, yet you reply to every negative review. Threw in a pump for the air shocks and even gave me an adapter for my shcrader pump since I didnt have one. I dont know who he pissed off at one time. But if you go through the reviews a pattern emerges, seems like someones wasting alot of time trolling this guy...

Walked into the store and the man with the long beard directly disrespected me and the company I work for. This guy does not deserve Lincolns business. Overpriced bikes as well.

Ive heard such awful things about this company and how poorly the owner treats their customers. A friend of mine was recently kicked out for not buying a bike (they were looking for accessories). Look elsewhere for your biking needs...this is NOT the place to spend your money.

Went with my kid to put 2 new tubes in his bike. Very rude employee, make my kid uncomfortable. We left the store. There are other better places and cheaper than this excuse of a store.

I tried to come to read these reviews and replies with an unbiased mindset but reading the owners replies i can say that what he claims is actually counter productive to his business. Ive never been a customer there and i dont think i ever will now. If i wanted to come down and see what the prices are, i do not want to get Booted for Hanging out. I can see a group of kids sitting outside for an hour or so being an issues because it does set a negative image for your shop obviously, but so does poor treatment of the consumer/customer. Given the negative and self defensive replies from the owner. It doesnt seem like i would even benefit from posting this. I wouldnt mind to be proven wrong this but i need more proof than what was shown. Please treat everyone with more respect and offer more options and solutions to the obvious customer service issue. So far it looks like they do a good job at their product services but nothing else.

I went Recycled and had a custom dura ace brake installation on my Cinelli corsa pista track bike. The mechanic was able to drill the front fork to allow for a brake. Top end mechanic do high end custom work unavailable any where else in town.

Not sure why he got mad and kicked me out of his store.I was the only customer in the store.I bought a saddle and an handlebar. He said he will install (I asume for free) while I was bargaining the price.I finish paying and reluctantly ask for help installing the saddle, which he did. I ask for help with handle bars as well but the store attendant says hell hand me the tools and have me do it myself outside the store.I called him out on his customer service and he goes ballistic, shouting at me to get out.

You know your serivce is bad when individuals wouldnt set foot inside. If Recycle were the *only* building in this city during a zombie apocalypse, Id still avoid entrance. The smarmy, foot-stomping, teenaged attitude of the *adult* owner reeks of ego and vengeance. Rubbish store, rubbish owner.
