I love Books-A-Million. Its a place for geeks like me to shop books, tv shows, and more. Its a bit pricey, but dang it all if I dont try to buy something. Fun place to check out!

They have a good selection of books and the store is organized however I had a sales associate basically force a magazine subscription on me. I was told that it wouldn’t be anything I would have to purchase but that I was only signing up for a free trial. I immediately went to my car and read the fine print and it DOES in fact charge your card for the full price of three magazine subscriptions for a year unless you cancel within the time frame of 6 weeks.Let me state that it took FOREVER to speak to someone on the number listed for magazine cancellations. I was finally able to get it canceled, or at least I hope!I was not happy with this stores sales pitch. I feel sorry for the countless others who I imagined this happened to.

Wonderful bookstore! We walked in and immediately someone asked if they could help us. We found everything we wanted and more. Amber and Meghan were terrific! We definitely will return. Thanks girls!

Being a book worm, this is definitely the place to go. They have such a great selection of books, mangas, magazines and so much more. I love this store and their membership is totally worth it if you come here on a regular basis. Its always a joy to come into this store with the helpful staff and bubbly atmosphere.

Do NOT go here. The staff is nice, but I had them search for 11 different titles and they didn’t have a single one of them in stock. And they’re all popular books that I’ve heard multiple recommendations of. I honestly couldn’t believe it. Save yourself the time and trouble and just go to B&N.

I dont really like how they ask every single time about becoming a member there and also ask about the magazine subscriptions. I feel that it gets to be a little naggy. I enjoy their book and merchandise selection though.

They always have what Im looking for including some odd ball stuff. Staff is helpful when needed. The little cafe inside the store also has some pretty good coffee if youre planning to stay there a while.

Couldnt find a couple of books I was looking for, but thats not new. Clean store, good selection, and quiet if youre looking to check something out.

This location had a lot of the older books that are not available at Barns & Noble nor the libraries. It also included a small coffee cafe where you can place an order and look through a book. The staff were helpful and the had plenty of miscellaneous items for sale like coffee cups, laptop desk for the bed etc. I recommend this location.

Employees were helpful.... only.thing I didnt like is waited by the cafe part and no one ever came by no sign for hours of cafe either would have been helpful

Love this store! Visited many times and they always have had what Im looking for in stock :-)For anyone looking for a sexy series to read thats also an adventure I suggest the Fever series by Moaning. Find it in romance, but its way more than just romance!

It’s a good book store but the people who work there aren’t that helpful or kind.

Completely changed layout..now more toys and kids and teenager stuff..cut WAY BACK on outdoor camping and travel section...will go to camp store ..pay extra $$$$ to get my travel books

Love this store! Im pretty sure my 11 year old niece loves it more than I do. Convenient location with a huge selection & pretty great prices. Even though I didnt buy my nieces Bible here they do have a wide variety to choose from. Wonderful coffee as well. I definitely recommend stopping by if youre in the area.

I happened upon this Books-a-Million store while visiting Lake Murray. I really liked the store, but when I wanted to check out the only person nearby avoided me like I was invisible. Annoyed by this I placed my stuff on the counter and left. I hope the manager reads this.

Great place but they should find someone to tend the coffee bar so we dont have to track someone down every time we want a snack

This is a very nice store however, I would love nothing more that to see something other than Witchcraft books greeting me and my children as we walk in the door! Out of ALLLLL the selections in this store that’s what is chosen to greet people as they come in??!!! Is BAM trying to send a message by doing this?! And just to be clear, it isn’t just one book it is the entire front of the store that has books and such like this! Talk about feeling very uncomfortable walking in. We will not be returning.

The night I was in there, they were very short staffed...that being said the three employees was extremely helpful n with big smiles on their faces. They located books I asked for, and helped myself and all the others in busy store. They each made the ending of a late shopping day, enjoyable and peaceful. One of my favorite places to physically shop.

I come to Books a Million every day to study for my classes. I have had two extremely horrible experiences here. First my study partner was in search of a trash can and some lady with a partially shaved head ran up on her and started fussing at her for where she threw her trash away, she apparently was a manager. Well one this was our first time here two she could have been way nicer about the way she handled it with my friend. Second time is today. The store manager I am guessing whom has red hair. Her voice is fairly loud I can even hear her over my head phones. Well today of all days while studying for finals. She feels the need to scold a Employee whom is working behind the coffee counter thing. The conversation she is having with him should have been conducted in an office with closed doors. I heard the entire thing over my head phones. This is not the proper way to discuss an issue with one of your employees. This conversation of fussing at him literally continued for fifteen minutes. The employee she is fussing with out in the open about his work ethic or whatever. He is the nicest one who works at this establishment. Everyone else who is typically here in the afternoons besides him is just beyond unbearable. They are rude, unhelpful and just plan rude. My study partner and I are well aware of what time this places closes you do not have to come up to us repetitively and tell us. If I did not pay for this stupid membership and another books a million was closer. That is where I would be.

Excellent customer service from every employee I have ever interacted with while shopping in store, as well as, over the phone. They are very helpful in locating whatever book youre interested in and will order it if its not in stock. I Highly recommend this location! Its one of my families favorite places to visit!

The staff is always very helpful when you need help. Note that you need to find someone to help as theyre usually busy with tasks other than asking customers if they need help. Personally, I appreciate this. If I need help, Ill look for it. The store is always stocked with many options from books to games to stuff. In addition, you can enjoy a decent coffee at the shop inside the store.

We enjoyed our visit to BAM. The store was fully staffed and everyone was eager to help. There are so many selections to choose from and they have excellent sales. Its not just a book store, they have COFFEE!!!!

Wow, what great customer service! The cashier asked if we could be helped and when we shared what we were looking for, she promptly walked us to right where we needed to go. GREAT, GENUINE customer service with a smile and helpful attitude. Thank you (wish I could remember her name, we were looking for a map of SC)

Went to Joe Muggs..purchased two Grande hot chocs..they only filled the cups half way to the top!..started drinking them and thought..this cup fills light..lid off..shortage confirmed..down the road by this time..call..Katie the manager asked we come all the way back to the store to get another one..by this time we are already home..oh well too bad..we can only fix it the day you were in here. UPDATE: last night several days after the original post..we went back into this location..we spoke with the senior manager Cindy..told her about the incident..she was glad we let her know..and wanted to make it right..she gave us a gift card and even offered to make us beverages while we shopped..was extremely professional..nice..and kind..as well as another associate..she was very concerned about our experience..I would highly recommend this store as she was truly wanting to see we were happy..wish all managers had this much integrity!

My day was not going g good, dropped by here to get a coffee. Had to wait a few minutes for someone to get to the counter, but the wait was worth it. Friendly staff, and nice quiet atmosphere.

I adore books and this place is amazing. I cant say I enjoy all of the toys when Im trying to find my 2 year old a book, its very distracting. The store is always clean and put together and the staff are kind. Glad they stopped trying to con people with the magazines.

My book club is reading a contemporary Christian book and they had it... yeah friendly helpful service. Well kept and stocked selections. a reading area is all thats needed.

I love this place. The kids and I could spend an entire day here. That is if we had nothing else to do.

I purchase a gift card and was told at my time of purchase, I am eligible for 3 free magazines on my purchase. When, I come home and check at the bottom of the receipt in small print it says automatic renewal after 2 months on magazines. I wish they are more fair and inform about automatic renewal before hand. Usually , I dont read my bills entirely and have a trip planned and would be out of country after 2 months. This would be like Iam charged for something without being aware of. This puts me off from going to the store in future.

I purchased a crossword book for my girlfriend and next thing you know I’m getting random magazines in the mail and then I have a charge of 71 dollars on my bank account. Books a million gave my credit card number to the “magazine service center” without my permission and without notifying me. Thanks for this I hope you’re satisfied

Still love a bookstore, even a chain at this point in our digitalized world. While at this location you may find a slightly larger Christian, it has plenty of everything else these book box stores normally have. Staff is courteous, unpretentious and happy to help. The coffee side is still there but havent ever ordered anything.

Books are sloppily misorded on the shelves. Staff look like they dress out of a dumpster. When I go to buy one item, I dont want to run a damn gauntlet... How about a membership. How about some free magazines. Hell, no! I just want one damn book. Thats it. Im going back to online book buying now. Books a million can go back to bookshop Hell.

Love this book store and cafe!! my daughter always gets a frozen hot chocolate which is delicious while we look for some curriculum books or random books . they have awesome employees who are very helpful . They have a great section of workbooks for homeschool children!!

Always find something I want

I like there set up. You ask for a book they search through there computer and they can locate it any book you want.

Easy to find what you are looking for for the most part. The store is inviting and has a cozy atmosphere. The small cafe is nice and decently priced.
