I drove up from Portland Maine to find green scrap leather and found that and more! Churchill was very welcoming and very helpful. The amount of scrap leather he had was mind blowing. I dug deep into boxes to make sure I didn’t miss anything and he was very accommodating, helping me pull the large boxes out to get to the back and bottom of each one. The variety of leather and colors made it super easy to find what I was looking for and also gave me new ideas for projects! Will absolutely be returning for more!

My son had an old steamer trunk that needed work. After a quick search I found Brettuns Village. They had the exact lock that I needed and shipped it to me in 2 days. What really set them apart from other vendors is the way they reacted to my follow-up question. The steamer trunk has one missing metal corner bracket. When I asked about it (I included a photo) the owner went to his warehouse to see if he could find one that matched. The owner.... Brettuns has fabulous customer service.

We searched the Internet for a sturdy replacement handle for a hard drum case. Virtually all handles we saw would require us to remove the riveted D-rings from the case and then re-rivet the new handle. I ordered the Brass Plated Stay1 . It arrived quickly and works well. I am using it to hold up the lid of an old wooden trunk. I am not perfectly refinishing the trunk, I just wanted some added safety. The web site has everything I need if I do decide to refinish one of my old trunks.

Few people visit this place. Its not set up for shopping, as one might be used to. They sell some leather tools, All American made and high-quality, and leather. A week after my visit, I called from my home in Michigan and placed an order for two sides of leather. They arrived in 2 days. their return policy is, if you dont like what you got, send it back, but I wont be sending these back. If you are a leather crafter, and happen to be near Lewiston, pop in. The prices are more than reasonable on their leather.
