The service was really sufficient, but food was a hit or miss, looks good but not every plate lived up to the pictures. The best was the California omelet and the waffles! The French toast was not a fav for all the table.Their fresh orange juice and coffee were on spot!Happy brunching!

Breakfast burrito is awesome & HUGE. Omelets come with roasted potatoes & toast with jelly which was a nice, filling surprise. View of the ocean from the patio. We beat the rush before 10 am. Homemade pastries too!

Highly recommend this place for coffee. They have some unusual flavoring add-ons to go into their coffee. I chose the lavender one and it was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend if youre in Laguna Beach to stop by here for a cup of coffee and a bite to eat.

This place is great. The matcha tea latte was amazing and the French toast with bananas was delicious. You can dine outside in the patio an get a great view of the ocean.

Plan on a couple of hours when you go there. The cafe system: epithet set your self then go to the counter and order or the other way around. The chicken sandwich 🥪 is great. The coffee and Latte didn’t suite my taste. The cafe needs to work on 2 serious hygiene problems: 1. The flys in the Pastries cooler; 2. The pigeons that invest the patio umbrellas ☔️.

The breakfast burrito 🌯 with bacon +jalapeño for extra kick! OMFG - let me tell you about the CRUNK on the hash browns... So unexpected and mind blown. Normally you get a burrito with soggy hash browns, but not here. One of the better breakfast burritos I’ve had! Open for patio dining swing by and try. Also great coffee ☕️

I returned to the Cafe Heidelberg after nearly two years. Happy to see it still in operation and thriving. A must for breakfast or brunch whenever you visit the beachside town of Laguna Beach, CA. Unique menu and selections with emphasis on a Euro/Germanic palate. I get the Eggs and Bratwurst. Fresh ingredients, expertly prepared and moderately priced.

I go here for breakfast almost every day because they don’t mind my special order which they make perfectly every time, it’s also a great place for lunch plus they have delicious pastries. Located right on Pacific Coast Highway in Laguna Beach they have a great patio on the corner of PCH and Brooks Street in the HIP district.

Needed to get out of the house for a bit. Hubby got his usual, the Breakfast Burrito, which he said was the best thing hes had to eat all week. I tried their Fish Tacos today. Amazing! So good, the fish was fried perfectly, not greasy, and the slaw added a nice crunch. The fish was so good, they should seriously consider added a Fish & Chips entree to the menu.

Love their omelettes and house potatoes are yummy! service has also always been very friendly and welcoming. Please survive covid shutdown! 🙏🙏🙏

I was really impressed with my breakfast burrito! It was very good and satisfying. I also really appreciated being able to sit outside on the patio with views of the ocean. The free refills on the coffee was an additional perk. This is a great place to spend time reading a book or doing some computer work.

If youre looking for a good atmosphere and amazing food this is the place to go. I had a chicken sandwich and it was life changing. The pastries here are amazing too. Definitely highly recommended!!

Vacationed for a week down in Laguna. Came across this gem. Good portions & adequately priced. Definitely would recommend to everyone. Fresh squeezed OJ and you can buy champagne by the bottle to drink mimosas on their patio. Visited 2x that week. Also went to Koffee Klatch (KK) for breakfast 2x and “Urth” 1x that week. KK’s breakfast croissants are very good and will go back. Urth was horribly soggy, overpriced and won’t.

Ive ordered so many times. Delivery is super fast and the young guy that brings it is very nice and knows always what apt. The food is amazing. I always get coconut curry and its amazing. Good job yum yum

Very awful and threatening environment. The staff made the whole dining experience seem so hostile. The food wasnt fresh either in my opinion 😕. Hopefully they didnt do anything. They all seem to be very angry people. Stay Away from this place! Also I hope it wasnt for my ethnic background. No one said anything but their attitude sure did. Im never going back!

You place your order at the counter and pay in advance. The man at the cash register asked me what I wanted to order. While I was responding a female staff member walked up to him and started a conversation. These 2 then continued the conversation ignoring me while I paused mid-sentence. This says a lot about their priorities. They both seemed to be senior staff members - definitely not trainees.My wife and I sat at a table on the patio. The traffic noise is pretty annoying – not a pleasant outdoor space.The food was generally good, but the garlic shrimp I had ordered as an add-on to my Greek salad tasted bad. I tried a second one thinking maybe it was only one, but it was just as bad. I left the rest of the shrimp. The rest of the Greek salad was excellent. Of course, nobody came by to ask how everything was, so no convenient opportunity to let them know. My wife said her fish tacos were good.

I dine in this place often! This is the best place to to have a good dinner. I visit this spot at least once a month. The meals are great, the staff is professional and the prices are reasonable. I enjoy being in this restaurant for a tasty supper.

Perfect little brunch spot! I usually order the Eggs Benedict, but I love their pastries too. Their lattes are so good and topped off with a cute foam heart. I love that they have every milk substitute imaginable too. I tried their macadamia nut milk today with my mocha latte and it was quite the combo! Ohhh and mimosas are the best price around with fresh squeezed OJ.

UNBELIEVABLE!! Maybe the best breakfast-lunch experience ever! Not one bad thing to say about my familys recent dining experience. You know a place is great when all five people in your party rave about the experience. I strongly suggest this place. Although it was my first time, other members in the party have eaten at this place several times. My veggie (feta and spinach) omelet was outstanding. The seasoned potato cubes and toast were also excellent. However, the star of the plate was the homemade raspberry jam. I think it was something more of a jam on steroids. That stuff is addicting. Service is outstanding and price to portion is good considering the quality of food. My omelet was at least three eggs...large eggs (maybe even four). You get a handful of potatoes, two pieces of toast, and the jam for $11.50. Throw in the quaint inside and outside deck within view of the ocean a mere couple of blocks away and you can see why this place is a gem. I urge you to check the menu (pictures of various items) on their website. Its pretty big with tons of variety.

Great breakfast spot in a good location. We recently stayed in Dana Point and came here for breakfast three mornings since the food and service were excellent. The food was both great and consistent. I ordered the same thing each time which was two eggs with polish sausage with sides of whole grain bread and potatoes. Loved every bit of it! We brought our two girls here also and they ate everything as well. Will for sure come here again the next time we visit.

We love this place. One of my very favorite places for breakfast. We really miss the Cafe Vienna in South Laguna but glad this place is still around! Just a little bit of a different take on breakfast and it is always good. Everything is fresh. It is crowded but you can usually find a spot pretty quickly. Dogs are OK on the patio.

Fresh ingredients & portion sizes just right. Had Heidelberg omelet (ham, spinach & jack cheese), with side of skillet potatoes and multi-grain bread with raspberry jam. Delicious! If youre going duing weekend breakfast & lunch times, bring a partner. One to nab a table, the other to place order at the counter. Note: although CH has dinner items (e.g., pasta & shrimp), they close at 5 pm!

Coffee is really good. Theres Vienna roast and almond roast. Both are fantastic. Egg Heidelberg is outstanding too. Only street parking is available but it isnt bad on a February Sunday morning. BTW, harvest scone is healthy and delicious !

Good prices for large, fresh portions. Loved my proccuitto omelet with fresh fruit. The potatoes are also good. Wonderful bread and fresh made raspberry jam that isnt too sweet. Delicious food that you dont feel guilty about later!

Customer service here is unparalleled. I come to Cafe Heidleberg as an escape from my home office, so while working, I see many people come and go throughout the morning. Everyone is surprised by the quality of food as it arrives at the table. Everyone has a smile on their face as they sip the delicious coffee and soak up the upbeat environment, air salty as were just a block from the sea. Everyone leaves happy.

This is a very special place we come here every time we have a birthday. This is why, first when you come in you get greeted by the cashier they help you understand the menu and man do they have a nice menu.Its got all the goodies. When you order you sit down (if you can find a seat to sit in, but I promise you its worth it) all the seats are nice and comfy. When you get the food oh man does it look delicious and it is.Just In general Everytime you go youre gonna want to come back.

So I just took a dive and we were looking for a place to grab some breakfast. It had been a long time seeing her from Australia and without her knowing this area... I trusted her.Welp, she was right! I got the lox bagel but looking over the menu in general made me really appreciate the quality and price.The place was stacked with people and Ill be headed here again with my other dive partners!

Such a cute little cafe. Well actually on the inside it isnt that tiny. The food is yummy. The serving staff is fast and the tea in the giant cup is pretty good. Plus its a nice little walk up from the beach.

GREAT FIND ! My wife and I were enjoying a weekend getaway in Newport Beach. Were always up for good new places to eat no matter we where go. I found this long established cafe online with good reviews so we thought it was worth a crack for Sunday breakfast. It was not a huge drive ( about 20 minutes ) from our Marriott Hotel in Newport Beach and the scenery is so lovely anyway. We arrived just before 8am and had to hang around til the meter accepted payment at 8am. Very strange ! Walking across the street to the cafe we could see the ocean across the street so that was nice. It was moderately busy when we fronted up to the service counter to be greeted by a smiling Rayne. We ordered 2 x Lattes with 2% milk and hazelnut syrup, Scrambled Eggs and Bacon (crispy) for my wife and Poached Eggs and Bacon plus a fresh squeezed Orange Juice (a few in sealed plastic cups were sitting in a tray on top of the counter) for me. Its a fairly tiny but cute space inside and there is a decent sized patio outside with a bit of an ocean view. It seemed to get busier just after we sat at our table inside. Our huge Lattes were brought out by the barista...beautiful latte art and they tasted very rich & creamy. They use the Italian brand Illy here and like most Italian roasts we have tried it is very strong. We usually prefer home grown local coffee roasters. Our breakfast dishes came out and looked more than adequate. My wife commented that her scrambled eggs tasted perfect and the bacon was crispy as requested. I was quite happy with my meal....the crispy potatoes were very nice. My Orange Juice tasted pretty good but I would have preferred it in a glass. Our creamy lattes were satisfying to the last drop despite their richness. We thought everything we tried was quite good, nice relaxing vibe inside with gentle piano music in the background. They also had a nice range of house baked pastries such as Croissants, Cinnamon Rolls & more. The name of the cafe intrigues me...it is Cafe Heidelberg on many review sites and yet the sign outside says Heidelberg Cafe & Bistro. They do serve lunch here but not much more so the bistro tag is a bit misleading. I usually do edits to unify the business name on various review sites but I dont see the point here as I cant change the name on the sign. I think this cafe does most things well enough to please the regular crowd who come here !

I love this place and was so excited to visit it on July 4th. The gal at the cash register and taking orders was very off. When I asked her what type of ice tea they sold, she said, A tropical passion or green tea. I ordered the tropical passion with a healthy scone. My daughter ordered a strawberry pastry.The Heidelberg employee gave a green tea, different type of pastry and forgot to charge me or give me my scone! Whats up with her.

Food is meh but the coffee is really good

OK food, on busy main street so not really laid back and relaxing atmosphere, needed to remind them that we were there and waiting for an order. Oh, and if you pay by card make sure you ask for the bill as they seem to help themselves to the balance on your card, they took more than my bill came to but I couldnt prove it as ironically, they didnt give me a receipt! Never again.

Dont live in Laguna but I passed this place with my girlfriend. I had fish tacos while she had a chicken breast sandwich and both were delicious👌👌👌 a long with fries and ranch🙌 good place plus free refills on iced tea😏

What a great place for breakfast! Its an unpretentious, excellent place to get a relaxed breakfast. Then if you have some room left over they have great bakery items as well.

This place has great breakfast and baked goods. Good coffee too. Definitely worth a visit for some food if youre in Laguna Beach or even passing through on the Pacific Coast Highway.
