A wide selection of domestic and exotic woods at a great price. A woodturners paradise. The boards are labeled which makes it very easy to see what is what and how much it costs. I will definitely stop here again on my next trip to Gatlinburg.

I’m working on a project converting a Ford Transit van into a mini mobile home, and finding certain materials has been a challenge. The floor, for instance, needs to be high quality wood because unlike a house, there’s no truly good way to seal moisture out. The issue I had was nice box stores don’t carry decent wood. I google searched and found Jeffries Wood Works and called asking about what they had in stock. My god was it a different experience from most other place I ever shop. Cynthia listened and answered every question about availability I asked, was super pleasant to talk to, and was knowledgeable about the specific wood I needed. When I came in to pick up she was so kind and friendly and helpful, and then introduced me to Bob. They are the owners it turns out. Bob was also one of the nicest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. The prices were good, both Bob and Cynthia are kind and helpful individuals, and I absolutely will exclusively purchase the rest of my wood needs from them. I don’t normally write reviews because I’m exceptionally lazy, especially this year, however I just left with such a positive experience I want people to know so they can shop there as well. Thank you guys so much, I will definitely be back!

Ugh... Ive been waiting 5ever to sleep but I just cant stop thinking about Jeffries wood! Whenever I peak inside my drawers and they are lacking long thick hard wood I just stop by and in no time my trunk is packed to the brim with the finest Africa has to offer!

Only come here if you want to be amazed by the selection if high quality wood. Their open space is especially welcoming during the pandemic. The only reason Im glad its not closer is because Im afraid of how much money I would spend regularly. The only place I know of where you can just walk in and find boards of lignum vitae!

This place is awesome. Tons of variety of species and cuts all visibly labeled. Prices are transparent and very fair. They even label the board feet on each board so you know exactly how much it will cost. They also sell off cuts for cheap in case you had a small project where you might want an inlay or just need an assortment of random pieces. They will have my business for a long time

Jefferies is hands down the best wood destination out there. An enormous selection of different species of wood at great prices. The owners Cynthia and Bob are absolutely phenomenal, helpful and have the kindest souls ever. All in all, the entire experience is priceless. Highly recommend for all your specialty wood needs!

My wife and I visited Jeffries just yesterday to find some exotic wood in 3 particular colors. Wow, were we pleased with the help and kindness of the owners. The moment we arrived we were greeted and offered immediate help in our quest. I thought I was in Disneyland for a moment.......great store with an unbelievable selection. You just have to see for yourself.Before I started to compose this review, I checked the ones already posted. All 5 stars and now I realize why.............there is just no room for less than 5! Wish there was a 6+. Started work on my project today and I cannot wait to finish and go back even if it just to talk to the most friendly small business owners anyone can meet.

You’ll never find a better place for specialty wood products. I’ve had some easy project and some not so easy requests. My father and I have used Jefferies for the past 20 yrs and Cynthia has never failed to produce any wood species that we’ve needed.

Everyone that I know you is in woodworking or woodturner eventually ends up at Jeffries. What a great place to purchase lumber, exotic pieces for turning, or wood sheet. Warning: Dont get in the way of Cindy. She is the boss and even Bob, her husband, take orders from her and nothing is too heavy for her to manhandle.

We visited this hardwood store and the owners were super friendly, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable. Their selection was quite impressive and if they didnt have something they were willing to order it. We bought some hackberry wood, local to Tennessee, and well make some souvenirs from it since weve thoroughly enjoyed our Tennessee visit.

Above all they are very knowledgeable and can help with any facet of your projects needs, and also have professional references should you need help outside your capabilities that they themselves cannot provide. I have been purchasing from them professionally for at least 15 years, they are always my first choice.

The first time I drove to Jeffries I wasnt sure I was in the right spot. The old business park its a part of includes a box factory and several other random businesses. Make sure to follow the signs and youll get there without a problem.Now, once inside I was blown away. It was really amazing. They had more varieties and species of lumber than I could have imagined. I spent a solid 2 hours wandering up and down the isles looking at all the different options. I wound up picking up a sample of ~12 different hardwoods. I needed a variety for a project Im working on and they certainly delivered. A word of advice though, make sure to keep an eye on the price tag for some of the woods. Theyre extremely rare and small boards can be quite costly.I spent some time talking to the owners while I was there and they are good people. They obviously enjoy what they do and are very, very knowledgeable, and very helpful.Its definitely worth the drive.

I have known Bob and Cynthia for the past 30 years. They started as a mill shop, but through the years evolved into the best stock wood venue you will find. They are knowledgeable and can are willing to help each customer with their purchase. I would give more stars than 5 if I could. Bob and Cynthia provide a crucial service for any professional or amateur woodworker in east TN, and they do it with enthusiasm, expertise, and charm. The sheer magnitude of the selection is unbelievable until you see it for yourself. I love my trips to Jeffries, sometimes just to browse -- though I always end up bringing home a special piece or two. 5 exuberant stars!

This place is great. They have a HUGE selection and tremendous variety. The folks that run it are very knowledgeable and accommodating. The only downside is that you will spend a lot of money because they have such beautiful wood. The last time I went in for a few small pieces of cherry, I wound up spending $800 on two giant slabs of walnut. And felt like I got a bargin!

Best place in Tennessee to purchase lumber. Bob and Cynthia are easy going and very knowledgeable about their business. I am a small remodel contractor and often have to bid projects that I do not win, regardless, no matter how little I have ordered in the past, Cynthia is always willing to price out my requests quickly and willingly. This is the place to go for hobby wood workers. I come here a lot because the variety of wood they sell. The people who work there, Bob and Cynthia, are very helpful. The first time I went I was a little overwhelmed but Cynthia showed me around and explained everything to me. Both of them are very knowledgeable about the different varieties of wood. Theyll also plane the lumber and put a straight edge on one side of you need them to. The advice someone gave me before I went which I will pass on is, Bring a truck because you may just plan on buying one or two boards but once you walk inside and see everything, you leave with so much more.

Best palace for wood little hide but good place

If you have ever enjoyed working with wood, this place will seem like heaven to you. Walking throught the aisles is like making a world tour. I seriously doubt if there is a type of wood that grows anywhere on earth that you couldnt find at Jeffries. The variety and quality of their products is only exceeded by the kindness and helpfulness of the Jeffries themselves. Just a warning: if you come expecting to have to pay an exhorbitant price for nice wood, you will be disappointed--they are extremely reasonable!

A hole-in-the-wall type of place that really delivers on quality and service. I went there expecting to get some rough sawn lumber, which I dont mind actually since I have the tools to work with it. Was looking for maple and they actually had a few varieties and helped me select some. The price was very reasonable and they offered to plane it for me for a few extra bucks. When the owner saw the final sizes and dimensions I was planning to cut them, he copied my list and did it for me. (Must have been a slow day there). Saved me a couple of hours of labor. Im definitely going back now that I know they have quarter sawn lumber for my mission-style projects. Good bye to the crap they sell in big box lumber stores!
