This place is fantastic! Just when you think youve seen it all, youve never been to a MAST GENERAL STORE! Remember as a child when your parents threw out your favorite item? This is where you can find it again. They have EVERYTHING that you had during your childhood, toys, candy, gadgets, its such amazing collection that if you havent been there you wont believe it. You can find a gift for every friend on your Christmas List all in one place. The nostalgia will have you grinning ear to ear. MUST VISIT

I called and asked for someone with knowledge at the knife counter, and I was quickly transferred to someone who did not give me their name. I was asking if they carry a specific brand and make of knife. I was quickly informed not carry that brand. I then asked if they carried any knives that were designed to be scout carry . He then quickly told me that I need to just come into the store and check for myself and then hung up the phone. I can tell you I will be ordering from Amazon... Read into this however you like.

What a neat store. We had never been to downtown Knoxville before and this place was a nice stop during our visit. Very friendly folks working there. Lots of snacks, candy and goodies, a wide variety of shirts, jackets, hoodies, etc. that tourists would likely embrace. A great selection of shoes, jackets, boots, gear, etc. downstairs for hikers, campers, etc.Things were a bit pricier on certain things, but you could easily find some great gifts or even things for yourself here.

This store has a nice selection of everything. There is something for everyone and if you have a sweet tooth this is the place for you. They offer clothes, housewares, camping gear, UT souvenirs, food, pottery, and thats just for starters.The staff here knows customer service. Everyone I encountered went out of their way to make us feel welcome and it made me want to go back and visit again.

Wow! This store is amazing! They sell unique items that are hard to find.They have clothes,shoes,barrels of old-fashioned candy and toys and games that remind you of your childhood.I purchased a homemade slingshot, jacks, cast-iron skillet, bolo paddle,puzzles and Chaco sandals and they have a Christmas section all year long! Best store in town!

The General Mast Store is a great spot to pick up some outdoors gear as well as tourist T-Shirts/collectables. We visited the store while waiting for a dinner table in the downtown Knoxville area. Great store with tons of stuff to offer.

This is a fun store. Full of things from the past. Old fashioned candy by the pound. Prices are pretty high. Definitely a tourist attraction.

Definitely a must see place if youre in Knoxville Tennessee. So many fun things to buy with both local and out of town stuff. Clothes, candy, jellies, and pretties for your home and so much more. Love the fact you can park and just walk to all the boutiques and restaurants. Every place looked lively and pretty with the flowers and the decor.

This is a nice store that has a very old-timey feel. Old candies in barrels, cooking stuff in the back, and apparel and Knick-knacks spread throughout. Honestly a good place for someone looking for a southern souvenir.

Very unique store. Kinda of a combination of an outdoorsman store with an old style country store. You can spend considerable time shopping & looking around. I bought some local honey I’m looking forward to take back home & enjoy. Also got a unique & handy knife sharpener I’ve never seen before. Lots of clothing & apparel.

Must visit location for a week rounded shopping experience for the family. There are some pretty well reduced items for the bargain hunter and some really unique items otherwise like traditional rocking chairs. I love the hiking section which has a great selection of mainly high end gear

This store is so cute. They have everything from clothes to candy to kitchen wares and camping gear. I loved the vintage coke coolers that you can retrieve a glass bottle soda from. They also had very nice Tennessee souvenirs that were not kitschy.

A nice gem to help anchor this portion of Gay Street. I remember a White Stores either there or next door. Touristy naturally. Helpful and cheerful staff.

So I was dreaming of the perfect flannel shirt for the holiday season and stumbled into Mast General. What a sweet store. They have so much to offer..clothes and nick nacks galore! I loved all of the Knoxville items but what caught my eye was the shirt I was dreaming of! It was the perfect lumberjack red and just the right female cut. Cant wait to sport it around Nashville for the holiday season, see some lights and sip hot cocoa🎄🎄🎄

We always go to Mast General Store every time we go down town. They have everything imaginable. Everything for hiking & backpacking, to candy, to seasonings, to wind chimes. A must go to if ever on Gay Street in downtown Knoxville.

The Knoxville location is huge. We spent 30 minutes walking every corner checking out the variety of items available for purchase. It is a general store with an old country town look and feel.

I used to love that store. When the virus first appeared, they used to limit how many can be in the store at any one time. Now they allow unlimited crowds in the store, many of them not wearing a mask. Sadly, it is no longer a safe store to go into if you are concerned about the virus

A nice place to visit. The prices are HIGH. T-shirts start at $25 and UP. Quality brands, not dime store stuff. Got some nice photos of the candy barrels. They do stock some harder to find housware items, but again, if you are willing to pay the price.

I love the Mast General Store. Lots of fun unique home items, clothing and accessories with a friendly sales staff. Ive purchased everything from birkenstocks, candles, jams, clothing and kitchen utensils. The penny candy barrels are fun too...reminds me of when I was a kid. ☺️

My two sons like shopping at the Mast General Store for hard to find old fashion and new candy.The Mast General Store is the only store with over 25 different flavors of real maple syrup, oil lanterns, old fashion rocking chairs, hiking boots, casual shoes, and sandals and custom one of kind outfits

Found the best summer/boat shoes there, comfortable enough to wear regularly and travel in.Also I aways try to pick up preserves when I visit. Specialties like moonshine jam and the occasional odd candy.

Has very nice, merchandise, I love the fact they have a R.C. cola and Moon pie combo, so cool

Visited all the way from Nebraska, was excited to see the brochure at a hotel but disappointed in person as nothing there was from the 1800s all todays hype of clothing and old fashion candy. Drove out of our way over 80 miles to see the store as if it were from 1800s and had to park blocks away to get there. Be prepared to park in a parking garage and walk to get there never any open meter parking on the street.

A cute, fun shop with a wide variety of items including, specialty foods, soaps and lotions, clothes for hiking and outdoor activities, jewelry, shoes, purses and dont forget the plethora of Vintage Candy. They have fresh popcorn daily and great gift ideas. While some of their prices can be bit high. Thier large selection should suit everyone.
