I used to love this store years ago. Its clear the business doesnt have much longer to go. The entire store is filthy and stained, damaged books at full price, got rid of the coffee store, organization is very poor. This location seems to accepted its fate and sadly, I cant recommend anyone go here

Beyond rude customer service. Items way way over priced. Youd think theyd be more friendly and better priced considering book stores are becoming obsolete.

Wow. This bookstore has a bit of everything. It is much like our favorite bookstore from CA. What I didnt care for was the lack of organization in regard to used or sale books. But the thrill of the hunt might be more appealing to you.Otherwise its a great bookstore well worth visiting.Update 06/19/21: I drove past this location recently, and it had a banner saying the location was closing. A real shame.

Was visiting a neighboring store and noticed a store closing sign on BAM and decided to check out the sale. Only about half the stores inventory remained and everything was marked down, much at half off. I hadnt been to this store in awhile, as i no longer live in town, but Im disappointed to see what i think is one of the last remaining physical bookstores in the area closing up shop.

Absolutely great selection of books and the prices were more than reasonable. Be aware of the “membership” though. They offered me savings that sounded great but only mentioned that it would save me money that day not cost me $25. I got to my car and looked at the receipt and noticed the unmentioned $25 charge for what I thought was a free membership and went in for a refund. They claimed that since I only asked how much I’d be saving that the $25 membership fee up front was irrelevant to the transaction. It was a lot of wordplay so I would recommend being cautious of that. Other than that great shopping experience

The store is sadly closing, and there are certainly some great items left. However, Books a Million does not price match, even before this stores closure, which honestly is something other book sellers will do, and may have been a contributing factor.

My mother, my daughter and I went there on June 26th and it was last day before closedown. I was curious, why they are closed? I have not find the answer on google for some reason.

This is a recommended place to find interesting books, coffee table reads, and doodads. They have a wide selection of books from a good variety of genres. Try the coffee and cookies while you are there as well.

Great book selection but store is very out dated. Looks like they are trying to close again for the fourth time I believe. Will see if they actually close this time. Love the this location only part as only Book a Million in Knoxville lol

Pretty cool place. I always want so many books I didnt know existed before my visits. I found some very good sales today.

I called three other bookstores looking for a specific title and they were the only one that had it in stock. They will be my go-to bookstore in the future. Great service and a wide selection of titles and gift items. A+

What a joke! I got signed up for magazines that attach to my card and the cashier could not take it off! NOTHING SHOULD EVER BE ATTACHED TO MY CARD WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE! NOT HAPPY AND WILL NOT PURCHASE AGAIN! What a Mess you have created!

I loved, loved, loved this place! I love books in general and out of every other book store, this place takes the cake! The people are very helpful and if you cant find what you need, the staff will go with you with a smile on their face! They also have many books to choose from, the coffee place is also a nice place to test read the book you might like to buy with a cup of coffee. The atmosphere is great as the place smells like coffee and new books!

Theyre overpriced even when theyre going out of business and sales are going on. However I will say that there are some obscure titles that are very cheaply priced that I didnt bother checking comparative prices on. There were some books that my daughter wanted I check the price and it was double what you can find it on Amazon.

Even though they are going out of business their prices are still to high. 20% off is not much off regular retail price. Hope they go down soon because mckays is still cheaper alternative.

My second favorite book store. Very eclectic. Always enjoy coffee and a good read. Others may have fancy coffee, but you pay almost twice as much.

Very helpful and a better selection of Guest Registries than Barnes and Noble

Used to be my go to; had a great variety of books and friendly staff. Things have gone drastically downhill. We waited in the café for ten minutes to order, and I KNOW the person stationed there saw us from the registers but still didn’t come over immediately. Then as they were “closing up” the café at 5 o’clock, they asked my mother to move to the cushioned chairs which at this point I now have not been sanitized. Such incompetence and rudeness has ensured that I will not be coming to Books a Million again. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Its a B-A-M. Local staff is always friendly, though They do seem to have a decent amount of employee turnover except for a few staples.

We got some nice deals but the store itself was rather disorganized, and musty. We left quicker than we would have because it was causing some breathing issues. To be honest it seemed as though maybe they were getting ready to update the store or prepping for possibly a close not sure so just verify with a call that theyre still in the space

Awesome as always! Clean, super friendly staff who are very helpful. Sure, theyre a bit higher than the big A but you can hold it in your hands and smell it before you buy it! Theres nothing like the smell of a bookstore.😊

Clerk was VERY FRIENDLY and engaging with the previous couple in front of me. I stood in line to ask a question about a book that may or may not be available in the store. The clerk barely spoke three words. Completed my inquiry and told me where I might find the book I was interested in. Im happy the book WAS available! Purchased several others and was asked if I needed a bag. I said yes please and he kindly placed my bag on the counter. 😐 The wonderful white couple in front of me received the full experience of customer service, I received a serve yourself and having you as a customer really doesnt matter attitude from the male clerk. Service is EVERYTHING to me..needless to say I will not be a cutomer there again and Ill be sure to share my experience. 👎

This used to be my go-to bookstore. No one was there to great, or simply acknowledge a new customer entering.

I never knew books a million existed until a friend took me and I fell in love with it. I LOVE all the book selections, they even have a nerdy section which is what me and my friends are interested in. (Even bringing down a friend from PA to check out books a million). I also LOVE their coffee lounge area where you can drink coffee, sit on the couch, and just read a book.

Love this store , hate its closing

Had 2 things I was buying on a 75% off table. Noticed it didnt ring up correctly. Cashier got manager who checked the price and told me someone had put the 2 items on the table accidentally. I didnt buy the reason. There was 4 left on table when I picked up 2.I believe she should have honored the price. Probably wont go back to that store.

An amazing collection of books and what knots! Magazines etc. Coffee inside and bathrooms. We had a very good time. They are keeping up with the team for sure! You can even find Squishies there! Rocks and all! Candles! It was a blast!

The staff went above and beyond to help look for a magazine issue for me! Everyone is so super sweet at this location! Definitely one of my favorite bookstores!!!

Found everything I wanted . Looked everywhere for Elf on a Shelf, not only did they have it. They saved it for me till I got there. Found several other things I wanted. Great place and extremely nice and helpful.

Entry can be made directly from parking and also from within the mall. Friendly helpful staff. Had a magazine in stock that I could not otherwise find within 100 miles of Knoxville. Store layout is good and you can see the different sections easily.

I love this store! It has an excellent selection of books for all readers, as well as a coffee shop inside of it called Joe Muggs. Its a great environment and genuinely unpretentious. Id love to see this establishment become more frequented.

The manga section is so gloriously organized, they clearly have an otaku shaman master employed at this location. However, other sections of the store provide no clear organizational system, and it can be difficult to find what youre looking for. The deals are great and the employees are friendly. All in all, its an average experience.

Bathrooms were disgusting. Womens was out of order so i went to handicap rr and it was overflowed with splattered feces on the toilet. I finally used the bathroom next door at party city. The main part of the store was nice. Good selection. Nice atmosphere.

Its so clean, well lit and the staff are very friendly. The books are always well organized and put up in an easy to find way. Additionally, theyre child friendly and have a book club on Saturdays for the little ones. My 15 month old was invited to attend. =)

I am always expecting this to be one of those discount bookstores that has that strange is mix of games and trading cards thrown in. I am surprised how large the store is and how few choices there are many in titles. Sometimes you may be able to find a book that has been marked down, but for the most part the titles seem out of date and not worth the price. You can get some of the same titles at Sams Club for less $.

Shoped here for years.. The staff is always polite and friendly. Store also has a great selection in stock and makes it easy to pick up a spontaneous read.

You can be a fan of Barnes & Noble and also of Books-A-Million. Barnes & Noble tends to give you more of the mainstream books while Books-A-Million collects the fringe books and tastefully displays them for your reading pleasure.
