Great homemade food. Very large menu. Staff was nice. Sorry but the bathroom was gross. Dining room was cute though. We got two sandwiches and slaw and chips and two sodas and our bill was $43. I would go back if I could spend half that on my lunch and if they completely redid the bathroom. Great place, hope they work out the little things to stay open.

Three hotdogs, fries, and 3 cans of various coke products totaled a whopping $41. Bathroom was gross. Hot dogs were basically burned to a crisp. Not the friendliest atmosphere. The best part about the entire experience was leaving.I can say one thing though, the owner believes in his product. And I’m glad SOMEONE does.

Well, now, today I had the BEST hot dog that I have ever eaten. Curious Dog Hotdogs is an unsuspecting, understated spot at 200 West Jackson Avenue in old Knoxville. I had a naked dog with no bun. Yup, and took one bite and the juicy, fresh grilled flavor almost knocked me over! Try it! Best ever.

Me and my wife . Went for the first time a few days ago. The food was ok . But insanely overpriced. For a hot dog. And sandwich. Its still a hot dog. Dont matter what you put on it . And the sandwich isnt a huge sandwich. Not like its a foot long for 12 or 13 bucks. Just a couple of pieces of sandwich bread. Then you have to buy fries extra. And the lady behind the counter isnt the nicest . But its no different then the cook. They act like they hate there jobs. And your just bothering them. Was really hoping it would be good. And worth the money. But cant see spending that much For a hot dog and sandwich.

This was a great lunch stop one afternoon. There is only paid parking in the area but the hot dogs here are worth it! These dogs are huge and piled high with toppings plus the side of fries we got were to die for and big enough to share e! If youre in the mood for a beer they have a huge selection as well. We cant wait to go back and try some of the other menu items!

We absolutely loved this unique restaurant. You could tell that the workers were passionate about what they created as they made our food and discussed future menu creations. The worst experience I have ever had. Today, my company decided that we wanted to support a local business so we placed a large order at curious dog. My coworker and I went to pick it up and the customer service was horrible. I do not know who the lady was that was helping us but she definitely was not friendly nor professional. When we walked in, we were the only customers there. We let them know that we were picking up an online order and she stated that they had not even gotten to our order though our manager got a text stating that our order was ready. The lady at the front was running around spastically and was cursing about how she could not find our order. I had the confirmation on my phone so I offered to show her our order on my phone. She became more frustrated that she could not understand the words on my screen and ended up throwing my phone on the counter. LUCKILY, my phone was not damaged. Finally by the grace of God, she was able to find our order to start on it. Though she was not the one cooking, she was acting very stressed and was still running around acting outrageous. My coworker and I are both work and have worked in customer service so we understood how it felt to be having a rough morning. We let her know that it was fine and that we did not mind waiting. We wanted to put her mind at ease. We shouldnt have. As we took our seat to wait, more customers came in. The man cooking told them that it was going to be a minute. When the lady finally got back to the counter, she began COMPLAINING TO THE OTHER CUSTOMERS ABOUT US PLACING A LARGE ORDER WITH THEM. The young man in line had called his order in. You better be glad that you called in before them. They placed a large order as if were some kind of chain restaurant, she stated whilst pointing her finger at us. There were about 6 or 7 customers in line and they all glared at us. We were so embarrassed about supporting them. We sat quietly (feeling extremely embarrassed) as we waited for our food. When part of our order was finished, she yelled at us to, Come get this out of my way! I slowly went up and grabbed the food and went back to wait on the rest of our order. Finally, we got the rest of our order and left in a complete humiliation. When we got back to the office, we realized that after all that time of waiting, THEY STILL LEFT 2 ITEMS OFF OUR ORDER.Update: In the midst of typing this, our manager called in to speak to their manager, Todd. He was also very rude and was very unapologetic about the situation. I will never eat from here again. BAD BUSINESS!!

Not really good for families. The restaurant has very little seating and it is all high top seating. There are no highchairs or a kids menu, but if you dont have kids it might be ok for a quick bite. I felt like it was a little pricey for what it was. Our sandwich was good, but not for the price we paid. We paid $54 for 3 sandwiches and 2 beers- one draft and one can beer. One of our sandwiches was just a plain ham and cheese for our 5 yr old. My husband got the Heisenberg and my oldest son and I split the Joe Montana. Also, the guy working seemed annoyed that we were even there. He was not friendly and was not interested in recommending anything. Its sad because the location is awesome and the decor is great. Lots of other reviews talked about the awesome beer selection, but it wasnt anything special. I just wasnt too impressed. I would not recommend for families and I would not go back- even if I didnt have my kids.

Lots of options, but the food was really good. Id definitely go back just to try all the options. My only complaint: it was kind of expensive (something like $15 dollars for a sandwich, chips and drink), and despite that, the place felt like it was just barely only the divey side of the hipster-divey scale. Id prefer more hipster for a shop like that. Definitely worth going if youre right there and want a sandwich, but there are other restaurants right next door in Old City that are the same-if-not-cheaper, with better quality interior and just as good of food.

Pretty pricey for sandwiches. If you are adventurous foodwise and like strange combinations this is right up your alley! Unfortunately construction has hurt business and seems to be driving customers away. There was only one cook who had backed up orders and our fries were barely cooked and still almost crunchy/raw. We called in an order to go and it still took 25 minutes from when we arrived. Will try again for actual dogs next time once construction is done.

Ordered from here through Uber Eats. Was very excited to eat the food. Actually struggled for a while trying to decide what to order as everything sounded great. I paid $55 for a sandwich, hot dog, fries and an extra sauce. All I received was a sandwich and fries.I had to wait an extra amount of time, because according to Uber Eats the restaurant requested additional time. What I DID receive was cold fries and a sandwich. I contacted the restaurant first and the person I spoke with was EXTREMELY rude and said it wasn’t his problem it was Uber Eats and I needed to contact them. He offered NO assistance at all. I realize the issue could have been with Uber Eats OR Curious Dog. It’s a contract they have. The problem shouldn’t be put solely back on the customer. They both should step up to help the customer. The person I spoke with at Curious Dog was HATEFUL and said “not my problem you need to call Uber Eats!” I will NEVER order from here again since they did NOTHING to help with the problem!!!

Great dogs! But the only guy working was not following health procedures at all. First, he was not wearing a mask. Next, a family not wearing masks came in and asked if it was ok and he said yes. They said another place had yelled at them but worker guy didnt mind at all. When I went to pay he was midway through making an order. He turned around and took my card, ran it, handed me the receipt and pen and went back to making the order wearing the same gloves he was wearing the whole time. We are in the middle of a pandemic, folks. Like the signs that talk about keeping old town open, WE ALL HAVE TO FOLLOW THE RULES. Yeesh. Too bad, I really wanted to try a lot more there but had to leave asap.Update response: Reviews like this can hurt a business? NOT WEARING A MASK CAN COST LITERAL LIVES. Have you ever heard of Typhoid Mary? Restaurants need to be particularly vigilant (hence the mandate, read: not optional) especially when the same crew member is switching between registers, pens, and food prep. None of that is your right to choose about. Its required. Get on board or maybe switch to curbside pick-up-only if it makes you that uncomfortable.

Cashier sprinkling onions onto a carryout order at front counter with bare hands. I asked why no masks, cook became irate, verbally abusive. I said I dont want to eat their food and he shouted an angry barage of foul obscenities and gave me the finger. Ordered through Uber, didn’t get more than half my order. Try calling the store, phone was picked up, nothing said, and hung up. Called again and guy was rude saying “well I had to make multiple of your sandwich, idk which one is yours” I said what else I got with it, and was told they took the wrong order. Wasn’t the wrong order, other items I ordered were in the bag. And I told him that and all he kept saying was they took the wrong order...and to place another order and they’ll make it. Why would I place another order when they’re so rude and argumentative? Not spending anymore money here. Food is very tasty. Chill atmosphere. Locally owned and operated. Very satisfying experience. My girlfriend and I went here and got both our orders in under ten minutes. True, the portion sizes may not be the largest, but $10 for a sandwich and $1 extra if you want chips and a pickle is a good deal for a meal in downtown. The Old City sandwich was excellent. A non menu listed item called the Ruben dog was also terrific. Also loved the fresh cut fries. Across the board the love and detail and fresh flavors that go into every sandwich is a huge hit here. Love the vibe of the place too. Wish I could make this place a regular stop, but due to price I cannot. While food quality is fabulous, 34 dollars for a dog and a sandwich and two fries and two sodas just does not work. I have a loft only 2 blocks away so glad they are here. And the food is so good I will return even at these inflated prices. But maybe only a few times a year versus a few times a week. So a 5 star sandwich that only gets 3 stars due to the price being way out of line to the point I cannot be a regular here.

Sticker shock will hit you here but heres three things to remember when you see the price of a hot dog combo ($11.99): 1- there are only 3 people that run the place; 2- they use the highest quality all beef hot dogs available (and Holy cow they are so delicious!); and 3- all of their ingredients, ALL OF THEM, including the kimchi, are homemade. They also cut their own fries in house. The fries are served skin-on and seasoned, and they are yummy too 😊 The service is wonderful! Only two of the three people were there on the day we went but they were so nice! Theyll talk to you about anything! Theyve kept this place open by word of mouth business and its easy to see why once youve tasted one of the hot dogs! I had the Chicago dog and that thing is huge! They serve their dogs on bratwurst buns because regular hot dog buns wont handle the load. One of these days, Ill try one of their sandwiches, maybe, after I get through the hot dog menu. Its worth my hot dog love visits!

Obviously if you order curious dog sandwiches through grub hub youre considered a lesser client than if you go in. I ordered a Tony Saprano $11.69, barely any meat no cucumbers, 3 peppers on white bread without a hint of sour dough flavor nor even a shadow of being toasted. Also large fries with just a handful of over cooked cold soggy fries. Altogether with Cole slaw, potatoe salad 1/2 pound each 1/2 full containers and a sandwich for my wife it was $59.00 of total dissatisfaction. This makes me sad because I know better the food quality.....shame!

Are you ready for the best sandwich of your life? If not, don’t go here! This Knoxville gem is a must, even if passing through on a road trip - I promise it’ll be well worth it!I was happy to know this place was still open on a recent visit (although the name changed). Easy to find parking on the north Gay bridge or below. My wife ordered the Kojak, (a Greek medley with French fries on the sandwich), I had the North/South (BBQ slaw & provolone sandwich), and our friend got the Danny Devito (forget what’s on it but it had fries too - looked yummy!) Just like years before, the sandwiches didn’t last long! Artfully crafted & all three came out at the same time. My wife who has lived in the Balkans still hasn’t stopped talking about this sandwich: “Did he travel the world and bring the best sandwiches to the Old City?” Yes. Yes he did.Along with the sandwiches he offers gourmet hot dogs & an amazing selection of craft beers (convenience store grab and go style). He still keeps a couple vintage arcade games running and a couple foosball tables if you’re looking to kill a little extra time.Like I said: Knoxville gem. What are you waiting for??
