A pure historic classic on the real American Route 66!This is a must see when driving on the famous highway. I couldnt get enough of this place. It screams old America and has some of the best souvenirs on the road. The inside is so cool and Eva if i remembered her name correctly was super friendly. She let us roam the property and helped us with any questions we had about its history. Just talking to her opened up my eyes on how important this route really is. Its the perfect for a taste of good ole American nostalgia

Coolest lilttle place along rt.66

Worth the time to see this place. Guitar player outside was good. No a ripoff. Canned soda, fresh coffee or pastry $1 each. Hard to describe store you have to see it.

Such a cool little stopping point.

Running short jaunts on Route 66 and destination today was Hackberry General Store on Mile 80, AZ. They have a great selection of Route 66 souvenirs, snacks and drinks. The cashier was really personable and appreciated our stopping. Both inside and out was covered with memorabilia and artifacts to look at. They do have restrooms and tables to sit and have a snack.

Nice place. clothes and Highway 66 gifts. The great thing is the location - a disused gas station with all the old pumps in situ. The lady who runs the place couldnt have been more friendly. We liked it so much that we returned on our journey home.

A piece of history to visit along Route 66. The store sells all sorts of memorabilia along with drinks and snacks. A walk around outside will take you back in time. Many old cars, tools, machines and even a covered well. A must stop along the Mother Road!

This is a wonderful, small town feel. Great Souvenirs, very friendly staff. The place is a wonder of pieces and memories of a time gone by. Have a soda and sit a bit to enjoy the feel of the wind and sounds.

Love this small store in the Route 66.Lot of nice souvenirs to buy in this old fashion store.It has been renewed but it keep the old fashion style and the essence of the original Route 66.It also has coffee and drinks and restrooms. It is a must of you are driving in this part of the Route 66.Totally recommended!

Quaint store on a historic highway. Nice stop to stretch your legs and grab some old beverages and souvenirs.

Though brief, our experience here was amazing! We had a roadside emergency and an awesome couple gave me a ride here. Amy was more than hospitable, helped me get a tow and well be forever grateful. We wanted to come here to see everything from the front to the bathrooms and will make a trip on our own back one day. One huge suggestion...stay on the main highways and skip Hackberry Road, unless you have some serious tires or an SUV/Truck.

I have to tell you I am really glad my family took this historic Route 66 detour on our way to the Grand Canyon from Las Vegas! We could have saved 40 minutes by staying on the interstate but it was well worth the detour! It is a beautiful ride and this place and one other made was a great historic stop. The views on route 66 were beautiful, far better than the views from the interstate. I highly recommend yout take the road less traveled and see Historic Route 66!

So many interesting things to see and the cat welcomes all visitors. Enjoyed browsing and found a few great keepsakes too.

Nice icon on Route 66. We nearly blew straight past. Thankfully we spotted it in time and stopped by. I purchased a nice Neon clock and got a really good deal.

Such a neat little place! All kinds of interesting things to keep your eyes busy. It does have a seriously vintage feel, like you have walked onto the set of Disneys cars. Lots of souvenirs that you wont see anywhere else. The Hackberry general store is the physical embodiment of Route 66. It is definitely worth stopping in!

This is a nice stop when traveling RT66 between Kingman and Seligman. They have a lot of branded clothes and souvenirs. Outside there are a few vintage vehicles and antiques. A lot of great photo opportunities.

A step back in time on the Mother Road. I absolutely loved this little store and everything there is to see here. Friendly cashier and great prices. Would definitely go again if I am ever out west.

There are tons of cool souvenirs related to the road 66 in the store. There is no restaurant but hot coffee and few selection if snacks.If you are a rider and warm yourself up in a cold season there is a stove.

This is probably the most interesting single stop I’ve made on my Route 66 trip. The store looks very retro and interesting. Full of old cars and car related stuff. It’s now a gift shop with a ton of nice souvenirs. There is even a wall of cards from people all around the world who has reached here at one point. Reading their stories is fun. Outside the store is a old gas pump set, taking pictures with it is fun. And a lot of exotic plants around as well. Definitely make a stop here for a needed refreshment during the long drive.

Very nice place. Owner was super nice as she helped me get my Groupon for the Keepers wild printed off. Once our tour of keepers was over went back and bought something for helping me and gave her my gratitude.

I didnt step inside, some of the signs on the windows put me off... but great spot to stop for those rustic gritty Route 66 photos for your Instagram or Facebook feed... Plenty of newer and well worn historic momentous. If you pass by, there are a few turn around just up the road... seems like most did as this road is so empty.

Wow! The history! The Nostalgia! This place is one of the best tourist shops Ive ever seen. Its iconic for the area, it holds sooo many stories here....was way better prices on the souvenirs than I expected, I was expecting overpriced knick knacks and but it was fairly cheap! One of the obligatory places to stop for anyone traveling along this section of Route 66. Interesting enough little gift/memorabilia store which can get very crowded inside. Nice selection of old cars which make for good photo opportunities.

Mood - Route 66 HistoryUpon walking up on this amazing feast of eye candy it was alot to take in all at once. So we sat and carefully surveyed the grounds as we began to look at each of the antique gas pumps, cars, buildings, and all of the in-between.The store was ran by Artist Bob Waldmire who had a 1972 Orange Volkswagen Microbus. Which is the inspiration for Fillmore in none other than Disneys Cars. In 2006 Pixar stopped a proposal to name that character Waldmire as Bob was unwilling to sell the marketing rights to Disney for toys that would be in a series for Happy Meals.The city of Hackberry was founded in 1874 when silver was big and booming in this side of the country. The town continued to expand in growth as of 1882 and the local ranchers were able to sell their goods at much farther distances. Once 1919 hit Hackberry became a ghost town like many other small mining communities did after the silver rush dried up.The General store was an important resource for the town as the closest place to gather your needs such as groceries and other items was Kingman. Now picture driving a horse or a Model A in the early 1900s- yeah it took some time. John Grigg opened the store in 1934 originally as the Northside Grocery and a Conoco Station. Mr. Grigg passed away in 1967. There are 6 generations of the Grigg family that are buried in the Hackberry cemetary, and some of the surviving Griggs remain living in the small city to this day.In 1978 the store was closed and vacant after the I-40 bypassed Route 66. In 1992 Waldmire purchased the property hoping to restore the glory as the Route 66 tourism began to really pick up. He then sold the property to The Pritchards in 1998 due to an ongoing local dispute. The population of Hackberry currently is less than 80.Would def recommend - pricing is free. Plus it is a nostalgic piece of history that you get to enjoy. If your driving really fast on Route 66 you will miss it. So I suggest slow down just a bit.

Been here twice over the years. Its a tourist trap...in terms of souvenirs only, the charm and character...as well as Its seemingly remote location...make one hark back to the days when Route 66 was a thing. Get off I-40 and do something a bit different!

This is a great stopp on 66! I was absolutely surprised by their fair pricing. It is very rare to find that on very highly traveled tourist roads, and its good to see places like that still exist! I would highly recommend stopping in there for some memorabilia!

Great store, but half of the experience is outside. There are a bunch of old rusted cars, and a very friendly cat named Charlie! Its a great place to stop for snacks or goods, but its also a wonderful photo opportunity!
