I live north of the river and am a former McGonigles customer. This was my first time visiting this shop. I bought 4 pounds of beautiful boneless prime rib, and the staff was helpful and customer-friendly despite my confusion about how much meat I needed. I’ll definitely go back for meat, but they also had a wide variety of deli foods, salads, spices etc.

Never actually been there, but I know a guy who knows a guy that lives next door to a dude that goes there all the time and he said its awesome.

I went based on the majority of glowing reviews but my experience was not the same. I was very disappointed in the way I was treated. They were not friendly. I was ignored for several minutes when I arrived even though there was only one other person in the store. They were not helpful and treated me more like an intruder rather than a customer. I will not be going back. It is too bad because their meat was good.

Broadway Butcher is a library of meats that you should buy and then not return- engorge yourself on locally raised chicken, delectable steaks, freshly ground sausages, and any quantity of fancy cheeses. Last time I went they had some fancy cheeses cut up and ready to go in amounts sometimes less than five dollars (why not get some Gorgonzola for your Ritz?). If you do not like meat, there is still plenty of high-quality local produce at a wide range of prices, and an astonishing amount of imported olive oils. If you want to impress a date, invest in some fish that was literally flown fresh into KC that week. Or get some fresh Uni if it is in stock, which is also an aphrodisiac. If you are bored and have not seen fresh food in months, come over and get everything you need for a meal that is better than most restaurants could ever offer.

If youre looking for top-quality meats, this is absolutely your place! You can always tell when theyre open because the whole block smells delicious. I cant wait to head back and give their proprietary sausages a try!

This is the butcher I go to, there arent many like it, and this one is mine. Fresh (as possible) seafood, fantastic red meat, local veg, delicious cheese, curred meat, local eggs, the list goes on. Their prices might be higher than other places, but so are their standards. They know their farmers and community and want to see everyone prosper.

It is a great little butcher shop! As long as you dont wear a backpack and look even a little bit homeless. I was in there to drop some real money for Thanksgiving... They completely ignored me because I had in a backpack and just got done running. I was in rain gear. People that came in after me got talked too and asked what they needed. I was even ignored even after trying to ask a question about the steak. In these trying times business should be about getting all you can from anybody.. the worst thing you can do is treat someone like a nobody.

Love this shop! You can find rare fresh crab meat here flown in overnight fresh! Andouille sausage, Boudin, and Tasso ham are made fresh in house for all you cajun lovers out there!

We won a gift card here, finally made it in! We were helped by Jim! The shop is very clean and the meat and cheeses are beautiful. Jim was quite helpful with preparation suggestions. We will now be regulars for our specialty meats!

Wanted a 5-star meal of superior quality meat cuts and Broadway Butchers met the challenge with friendly service, fresh green beans, and choice cuts. Not to mention the fantastic fresh scallops selection. Ill be back for more.

The meat was good quality and it was a good price but the people inside wore no masks or any protective gear and they said to us how they needed to rush our order in case more people came in. I completely understand the capacity limitations and such but it was kind of a bad feeling to have someone say our time and money isn’t worth giving the extra couple minutes. Especially since I had never even been here before. Will probably go to another meat market in the future.

I have a long-standing relationship with this place and I must say - theyre the best. They can get you anything you need if they dont have it on hand. The creativity of the products they make in-house makes them the best in town for sausage, sub-primal cuts of beef, smoked/cured products, and other items. Also, they have some of the freshest and best seafood selection in town - sushi grade fish, sweet scallops, and whole fish if you need. If you havent been, you should get there now.

One of my favorite places in Kansas City. The staff are always friendly and very helpful with great recommendations for how to cook items you may not be familiar with. They have some of the best fresh seafood you can find in Kansas City. Always my go to spot for food when I want to impress people with dinner.

Made a drive from KCK to this butcher. Friendly. Helpful. And made sure we knew how to properly grill the 14-day aged pork chops and smoked beet brats (yum) we purchased. My husband and I came in looking for a brisket. Stuart walked us through all the details of what he offers, everything he has in stock and where his meats come from. Staff was all incredibly friendly, facility is clean and well kept. We walked away with pork chops and a brisket and could not be more pleased . Highly recommend this shop to anyone! Their meat selections are wonderful and some selections, I had never seen..like beet bratwurst. Wow.. who would figure! Exceptional cuts of meat and fresh. The Amish whole chicken was so tasty and juicy. They are knowledgeable, offered cooking tips to me and people friendly! I had gone in only to get gift certificates and came out a regular customer.

The beef, pork, and fish sections are always full of the highest quality cuts and Thursday is fish day. Flown in from Hawaii overnight to ensure freshness you wont find better fish in the city that is available for the public to purchase.The sausage selection continues to grow as well as the cheese and cured meat selection. If you are unsure if you will like something ask for a sample, these guys arent shy about giving a taste to make sure you are happy.I couldnt be happier that the Broadway Butcher is thriving and I look forward to seeing what they have up their sleeves next.

Although weve driven by here many times, this was our first time to stop. We chose to stop quite honestly based on other reviews, and Im glad we did. From the second we walked through the door they happily greeted us and were very helpful. They provided tons of information and hopefully my first attempt at smoking tri tip!

They do not carry lamb ribs or turkey bacon. Not all that impressive to me

Always friendly and helpful and low pricing continues to surprise me given the high quality of meats, cheeses, and condiments. My only complaint is being accustomed to zombie butchers it takes me a moment each time I visit to remember that these are enthusiastic and knowledgeable food guys. Definitely worth a weekly trip.

You’ll pay $15/lb for a skirt steak, but it won’t be a skirt, it’ll be a bavette, because that’s better, and I believe mustachioed hipster butchers, and you’ll be happy. Go there for all the things that walk the Earth.

Wow! I walked in knowing very little about grilling and steaks. I purchased two steaks that looked delicious. I told the guy that I didnt really know how to grill it. He hooked me up and educated me. He gave me a pad of butter that will give it amazing flavor and even thought to ask how long my drive is. I told him and he grabbed me a bag of ice to put on top of the steaks, so they stay fresh. Im so impressed!

Well worth the 25-30 minute drive from my house for the quality and selection. Everything Ive ever bought from here has been great. Highly recommend.

My husband and I love cooking and trying new things. This was our first time at the shop and the two gentlemen were AMAZINGLY, genuinely helpful to us. They gave suggestions for everything we bought, told us the best ways to cook our items etc. Needless to say...we will definitely be back!! There is nothing like great food and customer service.

I Love the guys a Broadway Butcher shop. They are very Knowledgeable and friendly. They are never to bus to give me cooking tips with their lovely cuts of meat. The products are of great quality as well. You can really tell a difference in the meat.

I have shopped at Broadway Butcher Shop two times now. First time, I got the beef tenderloin to serve at a dinner party. It was perfect. My guests literally gushed with praise. Today, we got two aged pork chops. First of all, this was my first exposure to aged pork. Let me tell you right now, this was the best pork I have ever eaten. I can say it was like butter. I can say that it was juicy and had the best flavor I have ever tasted, but that still wouldnt be good enough. Do yourself a favor and just try it.

Great little eclectic butcher shop, but also some old school sausages and traditional cuts of meat. Owner is incredibly helpful and willing to go extra mile to help a customer. Clean shop, tables and all the work surfaces were kept clean. Parking can be iffy being on Broadway, but i went midmorning and was able to park at front of store. Good little shop!

Been walking to Broadway Butcher for 2 years. I have had two handfuls of best ever dinning experiences with meat from Broadway. Everything from the best meal I have ever made for myself, steak and crab legs, to the most incredible brisket known to man, killer restaurant quality brats and sausages all the way down to the frozen soups that I take to work frequently. There is not a single part of me that feels bad giving my money to a hardworking, honest local shop.

Forget the illusion of price. what these ppl do with their meat....let me rephrase. the sheboygan, perfect, simple yet elegant. longaniza, being compaired to chorizo is like compairing mcdonalds to colony steak house, longaniza is masterful. still have yet to make a jalapeno bacon cheddar, but have sky high expectations for it.will update review with idiot delight after my kc strip in brown butter too im sure.

Im gonna hate myself for doing this because I dont want the lines to be too long but....the cooked food on Saturday mornings is good! Biscuits and gravy today, pork roast with sage and grits a couple of weeks ago. You never know what its gonna be but its gonna be good and comforting with plenty of seasonings. Nothing bland here. Oh yeah, they are knowledgeable about their meats and will not sell you anything short of excellent. Shop with confidence and eat whatever they cook. I can give no higher praise than that.

I owe this place a review. Ive shopped here for a long while now, and come here for all my ingredients when making home made, traditional ramen. Theyve always been friendly, courteous, and helpful. They special order items for me in a timely manner, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality.But... I feel you can get that at a lot of places. What makes this place my go to, for me, is the people. Ive always leave with a smile (and usually items I wasnt expecting to purchase).

I used to live across the street from this place. Came here every other week or so for about a year.I think the best thing they sell is the hangar steak. Season that bad boy with a good amount of salt and pepper and give it a good torch on the grill. The end result is one delicious steak. They also have good bacon and sausage. Theres a small fish section where they sell cuts of sushi grade fish. Its expensive but delicious for home made Sashimi bowls.Also worthy of note, at one point, these guys made a Bloody Mary Biscuits and Gravy breakfast that has no rival on this side of the Mississippi River. If you go here, please take the time to bug the owner about bringing that Dish back (I think hes getting tired of me harassing him about Biscuits and Gravy every time I go to buy a steak.)

I bought a $25 steak there that would have been at least $50 at a restaurant. It was the most delicious steak Ive ever cooked, nearly a religious experience.

The owners are awesome and love what they do. It shows. The shop is great and my favorite butcher in town. Try the prosciutto americano!
