Im am a blacksmith working mostly in mild steel and I have had wonderful customer service and fast order fulfillment while I wait for cut stock. The guys behind the counter are professional, knowledgeable, and happy to answer my questions. Though Im buying small amounts of round and square stock, they dont treat me any differently than the guys buying steel for large construction projects.

First time being here, but they seem pretty cool. They have a lot of nuts and bolts, some welding masks, some custom made rods, and plates of steel for just about anything you need em for. At least as far as Im aware, and the cost is cheap, but quality work. Would love to see a franchise at some point or at least other places that do the same stuff off in other parts of the country.

Metal by the foot in my experience, has been the best location for buying metal by the measure. They are prompt in service, no matter if youre having metal cut, or only purchasing hardwares regarding sheet metal or whatever. This is a hidden treasure for the metal worker or in my case, getting metal for restoring my box utility trailer. Definitely 5 🌟 stars

Great place... great people. if they dont have it, im surprised... but they would sure get it for you or have answers. Very helpful staff that take time to solve your problem. From the answers that seem stupid or easy to very complex issues.... They handle any thing to do with metal, tools and fasteners.

They have what you want but it cost a bit more than else where. In and out service was great.

Selection is great. They have all kinds of end plates, balls, baskets, and ornamental items to enhance your metal project, plus The tubing, rods, and sheet metal to get it all done. Additionally, they are loaded with welding supplies to make it happen so its a one-stop shop to get your metal and what you need to put it together. As I dont purchase large qualities of raw metal on a regular basis, someone Else will have to speak to pricing, however I was able to get enough metal to do two projects for the same cost as a single prefab item.

Its metal, By the Foot. Well not by your foot they mean 12 but you can buy more then 1 foot sections.This place is a candy store, they have far more then just metal. So if mamas in the car bring her inside or shes going to get board.Look guys payback for shopping for shoes.

They have lots of metal yes but what I didnt expect was a really nice selection of quality tools. The counter girl is a little sassy, but not bad. Anyway, they have good stuff, buy it.

Great place to get random metal sizes for projects large or small. They also carry fasteners of many sizes and types. Always fun to look in the scrap book to see what small items you might be able to use for crafts also. Highly recommend

Im very much a novice. Metal by the Foot got me exactly the steel I needed, cut to size, in about 10 minutes. Their staff was friendly and fast. The prices for my small order (4 lengths of stainless tube) were less than what I was quoted online by other retailers, and I didnt have to pay for shipping (or wait for my parts in the mail). Will definitely return.Walking around the shop, they have everything you might need to get into welding, too, including safety gear, used equipment, tools, and consumables. Im not sure if they have gas, but I didnt ask.

I just love this place fast friendly people. Well knowledge about anything I need.

Been here a dozen times. Nice people, pretty helpful, but if you see 5+ customers waiting, expect up to 30 minutes for your parts. Good prices for steel but not much else to compare it to. Their accessory equipment is meh. Some is a fantastic price and half (of their accessories) are double the price Id expect. Im surprised they dont try to sell more welding/machining equipment.

I’m just a hobbyist and don’t do a lot of metal work but I’ve been going here 10+ years. They have a great selection and a unique showroom floor of stuff for sale you don’t see often. Their website has a great drop down menu of material shapes and thicknesses they carry. I usually make up my “grocery list” before I show up and just hand it over the counter man. If I were buying a large quantity of metal to build something like a trailer I’d probably go larger metal supplier like T&W Steel. But for small quantities, I don’t think you’ll find a better place in town.

Shopped here for years with orders never over $50, mainly aluminum for school and personal projects. Despite hardly being the ideal customer considering how much effort I take for the small profit, they have always been pleasant or better and very fair with pricing, meanwhile I have gone to their KC area competitors when I was too far away and always gotten attitude and the jerk around on all occasions. Definitely the best place to go if you are spending less that $100 on bulk metal.

Excessive cutting charges on multiple quantities of the same item can easily make the out the door net price several times the per piece quoted on-line price. My out the door net was about 300% of the on line prices total. Of course, nothing is said until the material is already cut. Caveat emptor!

Have always got what I needed

Pretty ok, prices are to be expected, watch out on material though, I ordered ten slugs of 6 round aluminum 1.625 thick and they are not cleaning up until I get to around 1.580 or so. Online metals, speedy metals, McMaster, Emj, those places if you order material cut to length, it will clean up to that length. These 1.625 slugs were measuring 1.616-1.623 with saw cuts on both sides. Impressive consistency, too bad they didnt set their saw over the mark instead of under it...

Ive been going to this place for about 2 years now for small quantity sheet metal purchases and although I have a few pifs with the place will continue to buy here because they have good prices.Pros- Its cheap, quick and easy. Walk in, walk out 10 minuets later with what you needed, for a reasonable price.Cons- Always have to over purchase. Not sure what they are using to make their cuts, but I have never in the 2 years of shopping there gotten a piece of sheet metal cut square on all 4 corners. Its off by about an 1/8th inch per 12 inches length. Also do not get aluminum plasma cut here. Plasma cutting aluminum is difficult, this shop either does not have to know how to do it correctly, or just doesnt care. I have had a single sheet of aluminum plasma cut by them and it was horrific. It was a large simple piece, but I needed accuracy, and they did not deliver on that end.Overall its a good place to get material, but dont expect to take anything directly out of the place without having to recut it yourself.
