Salads are worth the money. Fresh, crisp vegetables, the spinach was not wilted or old and floppy. The chicken was flavorful and the salad was NOT drenched with dressing. PUlled pork was tender, tangy, with a hint of smokey sweetness. The slaw, again, fresh and crunchy. Sometimes slaw is run through a buffalo chopper and darn near minced. IN that form, when it sits in dressing for more than a day, the texture is mushy and and all you can taste is the soupy dressing. All on a toasted brioche bun. Well done. My husband eats here on a regular basis because of the hearty, fresh salads.

Cute little restaurant with coffee, pastries, and brunch foods. They seem to have an array of different types of eggs and their apple custard pastry was good. It was okay and I was glad they were open (at 7:00 am) when then other local stores were not. If I were to go back I would try their French toast- it looked very good!

The food was amazing and the gentleman serving it was great.. thankfully that redeemed the early impressions of this little Cafe. The young lady at the counter seemed very offput by our arrival and irritated that we asked to have a table cleaned... which we ended up cleaning ourselves. Im trying to chalk it up to she was just busy and felt overwhelmed. Either way the food is worth the visit.

If I could rate this place lower than 1 star I would. I have given this place two tries and both were less than satisfactory. The first time we went our food and drinks were cold when they were served to our table and 2/3 dishes had burnt items on the plate. We had gone close to their closing time, so we decided to give them a second chance earlier in the day to redeem themselves. We went in, it was fairly crowded, with about two people in line in front of us. We grabbed a menu from the counter which said “take me with you”, so we sat a small table while we decided what we wanted to eat. About 5 minutes later I went up to the counter to order. I was asking her what pastries she would recommend but she was distracted by another costumer who came up next to me to ask for a coffee refill. I waited a few minutes then resumed giving her my order. She continued to be distracted and interrupted me multiple times. After placing my order and paying she asked for my name and if I had a table, which I said yes, right over there. She rudely responded “ well that table actually belongs to the gentleman waiting on the bench. You have to order before you can sit at a table”. I apologized but said there is no sign stating this unspoken rule. We moved to the bench to wait for a table. A table then became available which she then gave us permission to sit down. We picked up our 2 coffee beverages which were both incorrect. We got the breakfast sando which was nothing special. As we were eating multiple other people came in and sat down at a table prior to ordering. Very poor system and poor costumer service. If you are going to have rules you have to be consistent. Definitely will not be eating here again anytime soon.

We have been in Juneau for 5 days. This restaurant was the first we went into that required masks. We could only find one so after being told very rudely we were required to wear masks, we went next door and bought masks. We returned to get in line a second time and my granddaughter who has a broken ankle went over to sit at a table. I was second in line. There was nothing to indicate sitting at an open table was prohibited. Again, the cashier even more rudely told her to get up she couldn’t sit at a table. Food may be good, we didn’t wait to find out. Manager wasn’t the least concerned with customer service and perhaps should have looked into the facts.

I arrived shortly after it started getting busy, and the guy in front of me ordered and was promised the next available order. The person taking my order then said he couldnt serve me because they were full. A bunch of people looked like they were finishing, so I said that Id take the next available table, and he flatly refused and said I couldnt be served. I asked to be treated the same as the previous customer and take the table after him, and was rudely told that if I wanted food, I could take it and go.Im just visiting town, but I cant help but think that this was probably related to the fact that I was the only not white person in the establishment

A great place for a late lunch or a quiet dinner, the Rookery is a must-do for Juneau. Typically Im a burger-eater, and this place doesnt disappoint. The Butchers Burger is a favorite with bacon, pickles, and onion complimenting a medium-rare patty and mild cheddar cheese. The meat seems hand packed and fresh with a loose inner consistency and crisp caramelized crust lending it to a complex and savory flavor. The tots on the side are nothing special, but are a good compliment to the star of the dish.

The Rookery is practically an extension of my living room. A pleasant, casual, and welcoming atmosphere with professional staff. They always seem to have something for every budget and occasion: whether it is just for a quick coffee and a pastry, or a multi-course meal. And everything on the menu is both consistent and good quality. I have been a patron for years and only ever had a few minor complaints. 9.5/10

I’m never the individual to post a review. This experience was disappointing. An employee was a bit rude to us, and whenever asking a simple request/ question. You could tell they were very annoyed. I know from experience, this isn’t how to treat costumers. My food comes in a timely manner, it was cold. I was too afraid to ask about it. The meat, eggs, sauce, and potatoes are cold. It made the food subpar. Not a welcoming atmosphere, and wanted to get out ASAP.

The worst loco moco I have ever tried in my life, and I was so excited to try it out. Total waste of money I paid over $19 for a small, tasteless, greasy meal. Loco moco is so simple and hard to mess up but yet again another place in juneau has figured out how. The ground beef patty was tasteless or rather taste like burnt grease (My coworker could smell the grease as soon as I opened the box), the rice was little to none smashed down to about less than 1/2 inch thick, the gravy was pretty grease and sugar, the eggs were overcooked by a far. The presentation was cute, Ill give it that but tell me who eats for looks? I had to bag and tie the food so we wouldnt smell the grease. The potatoes had so much salt and what smelled like bbq chip seasoning I couldve probably seasoned 4 whole potatoes. Lol. This was a joke of a meal and I will not be returning. It is so sad, the standard of good food in Juneau, its pretty much nonexistent. This really made me anticipate my departure from juneau even more.

Called to place an order for pick up... The lady who picked up sounded upset when I asked if they had started serving lunch yet, she put me on hold for about ten minutes and when I finally was helped, she laughed at my name, fine whatever. I went to pick up, they ladies behind the counter were not very polite, a customer in front of me asked if a dish was gluten free and received a half assed answer at first, but asked again, the waitress rolled her eyes and stormed back to kitchen. It was my turn and they didn’t even make eye contact when taking my money or name. One asked the other if the to go box on the counter was for me, and the response she received was “I don’t know why don’t you open it and check.” Why would they ask for a name on the phone but not put it on the box? I am disappointed in the service I received, have heard such positive things about the food and wait staff, I will have to disagree with the wait staff reviews

You can NEVER go wrong with the coffee AND the marshmellow-choc-chip cookie thing for while youre waiting for bfast. The large painting under the kitchen window is freakn incredible..., esp the eyes of the figures on the right.Oh yeah..., while this is probably obvious, and if you have the opportunity, try timing your visit opposite the wave of tourists coming off the cruise ships.
