Im sorry to leave this review but they are ruining the store. This used to be one of my favorite stores in town. The selection is amazing but their prices have gone so high in the past year or so, makes it not really worth stopping in there anymore. It seems like some one else owns it now.On average you will pay about $1 more for everything in a jar than in another major store that carries the item. Sometimes more than that. They need to go out and see what others are selling stuff for. For this reason you have to keep an eye on sell by dates too. Ive been shopping there for about 8 years, used to seem more friendly but I feel like Im being ripped off now. Ill still go on occasion but now I buy about 1/5 of what I used to there. Dont mind paying for convivence of everything in one place but there is a limit. Sad

Spice World is to foodies what book stores are to avid readers.. I always find way too many items I want! I cannot say enough good things about this store! The prices are more than fair and the selection is unbeatable. I started out trying all the packaged meals (which you cant find anywhere else) and eventually was inspired to try making my own. I also love the large selection of dried beans I can only find there! Spice World never disappoints!

EDIT: Ive now shopped at Spice World multiple time, and still HIGHLY recommend this store! The employees are wonderful, the selection is great (and fun!), and its the best place Ive found for fresh ginger root, as well as imported teas and cookies. Its also amazing for basics like cooking oils, rice and beans.First visit -- wont be my last! Walked every aisle, two employees asked if I needed help finding anything, saw a great variety of packaged and fresh items, came home with oils, jarred sauces, three varieties of Chinese mustard, rice and pasta, even two pounds of gorgeous organic ginger. Also some really nice essential and body oils. Took a chicken samosa and batata vada from the counter for lunch; too spicy for me, but obviously well cooked! (evidently Ive lost the adventurous palate I had earlier in life lol) Ill happily shop here again, and next time will bring a cooler for the amazing selection of yogurts. Now to find a Mexican grocery...

Although this store appears to primarily support Indian cuisine, I was able to find all of the spices for my barbeque rub at very fair prices. The staff were very helpful as it can be a little difficult to find what youre looking for with so many small items to choose from. The staff were pleased that they had everything I needed, and said that if he didnt he would get it. I love this store 😍.

Lots of unique items. Friendly & helpful staff. I bought tandoori paste, basmati rice and pitas. Reasonable prices. They have cooked snack food at the counter. Not sure the name but it was round, fried, and filled with a pea lentil spicy paste? Tasty. Ill be back for more goodies.

Such a wonderful gem of a market in Johnson City! I could spend hours looking at all the great items in here and the prices are great and the employees are very helpful! This will be a regular stop over for me since they have lots of vegan choices in here.

This is the best Indian grocery I have ever seen. I often go to this store just for the fresh vegetables. Their okra puts the chain grocery stores to shame. The owner is always super helpful and always friendly.

I cook a lot of south asian cuisine in my home. This place does not disappoint in any way. Prices are better than some of the larger metro international markets. Somehow their imports are also fresher than the larger markets.I cant even complain about the staff, though at the time I went there was only one clerk, he was extremely helpful despite how busy he was.

Spice world carries a large assortment of spices and Asian and Mid-Eastern foods. The produce department carries some harder- to- find items. While youre there, treat yourself to a piece of Pistachio Baklava (sp?), because its delicious! The staff is helpful and you can find some really good deals.

They were really friendly. I love the selection of rice and spices. Ill be visiting here often!

Great place for fresh and frozen vegetables, groceries. Freshly made snacks did not taste good. But the Baklava sweet was very tasty.

This is an amazing store in such a small town. You can compare this store to any Indian store in a big city. You will find any Indian, middle-eastern and oriental food here. The best part is their home made foods especially the samosas and chai. The staff is very courteous.

Great selection, mostly great prices (apart from some luxury imports obviously), some crazy foods Ive never even heard of! Their packaged naan selection is awesome and has to be the cheapest in Johnson City ($3.50 for 10 as of this writing). Their samosas they make themselves are the best Ive ever had and will be back for those. Beware of the fried chilies though, they are delicious but.. well, be careful.Also found some great potential gifts (exotic honeys and chocolates) and they have reasonable microwaveable meals Im looking forward to trying. Check this place out now!

We are so lucky JC has an international market like Spice World. It’s not like some other markets I’ve been to where you feel unwelcome, the staff people here are always friendly and helpful. They have a good selection of Asian ingredients and premade foods including Thai, Indian, Japanese and lots more.

Im thankful for this business because had it not been there Id have not had access to halal meat. The people who work there are kind enough and the prices are fair. Im really grateful for this place! Thank you!

This place is not terribly expensive and the store is laid out in such a manner that it is easy to find what you need. If you go in just for the novelty, then the ladies will ignore you. If you go in to actually do your shopping then they are more kind. The man is incredibly friendly and helpful, he makes you feel like a close friend.

The best international grocery market in Johnson City.I absolutely love this place.There, you can find mostly Indian groceries and produce, as well as some Asian stuff (no Asian produce).The owners/employees are very nice and super helpful if you need recommendations for a certain dish/meal.

Finally found a place I can get chicken feet! so I have a freezer full of chicken feet now I did purchase a whole chicken to make broth very fair price chicken and looks healthy. One of the brothers was very helpful enjoyed talking to him.

Hidden gem of Johnson City! I just moved from a metropolitan area and became rather spoiled with the variety of markets and restaurants available, needless to say, I was more than happy to find this little market.They have an excellent variety of vitamins, Indian and Asian foods, teas, and the spice selection is beyond amazing. They even have an good selection of ayurvedic self care products. And the prices beat any local grocery stores by far and they offer so many healthy options.The owners were very responsive to questions and were kind.I usually do not leave reviews and definitely will be back. Support your local independent business and stop in. It will change how you shop in this area and save you some money!

I love my Indian spices and this store has a great selection of authentic ones from garam masala to cumin and coriander. The spices come in a large pack that last me for over 6 months. They also have some fresh foods and baked snacks as well. I will definitely recommend.
