A friend of mine was a vendor at the Saturday Night Vendors Night event on July 31. I went over to support her and was beyond happy with the atmosphere of Milk Road! The vibes inside the coffee house are friendly and local. They have an assortment of great drinks to try, plus their walls are full of local artwork to purchase. I am looking forward to spending more time in this location; excited for the 2nd location as well. Since they are supporting a variety of local businesses in a few different ways, I know that I will be a supportive of them!

We are visiting North Carolina from Connecticut and we found this super little coffee shop nearby! Outdoor seating in the front and back! Definitely a great place to hangout and sip some joe! Thankyou!

Heard good things about this place so I was eager to try it out. However, when I got there the workers were chatting with someone they knew for a while and then when the people they knew left I got told to go down to the cash register to order but the lady there was counting money for some time and the other two workers didnt try to take my order. Just felt like I waited too long to have order taken so I left without ordering anything. This was a dissapointed for sure. I really wanted to enjoy this place.

When I lived in Jacksonville a couple years ago this place had just opened and I have been chasing the flavor ever since. Those waffles are honestly to die for. The whole atmosphere is amazing. Seriously love this place so much.

We discovered The Milk Road this past week and keep coming back! The staff is always friendly and their coffee is amazing! If youre questioning whether you should go or not- Dont. Just do it. They also have a fun outdoor seating area behind the shop. Great local business.

I dropped by once a long time ago-I don’t remember my exact experience but it wasn’t enough to bring me back. In any event, fast forward to today… I stopped by on a whim. So happy I did! It was an excellent experience with great coffee, and I appreciated the recommendation from the barista. I now see what all the rave reviews are about. Thanks for dropping a quality coffee shop here. The flavor is excellent; normally I pass on iced coffee due to lack of flavor, but the barista told me I would get MORE flavor with iced, and I will definitely be getting iced coffee from here again. I also appreciate how quickly I got in and out-I was in a bit of a rush and almost didn’t stop because of it. I will definitely be stopping in much more often!

If you truly like intentionally made coffee, this is the place for you. If you like sugar filled candy drinks, go to starbucks.

Ok, this is a gem within a gem in Jacksonville. How has this been here for so long without me going to it regularly? I got their iced coffee sweetened, I am usually picky about my coffee not being too grossly sweet so I can’t taste the coffee, but I trusted them to sweeten it however they do it and it came out perfect. I got one of their lemon blueberry muffins too and it was delicious. They have a beautiful area behind the shop to sit at with picnic tables, a big open lawn, vegetable gardens and flower gardens. They also have adorable hut/cabanas you can sit in to get out of the sun.

Cute place. I love the outdoor area, but I wish the inside was bigger and had more seating. The drink was good and the staff was very friendly. It would be a great place to be open later at night with fire pits. So I do hope they expand more as this town needs more establishments like this.

Also, I do like that you can tip the barista on your card bc I often do not have cash to do so, thanks for making it more convenient, a lot of places (Starbucks) do not give you an option to add a tip.

Absolutely love this hidden gem! Their gingerbread latte is soooo good! Their waffles are AMAZING. They have art on display which is beautiful and available for purchase. The staff is friendly and quick with your order! I’m a Starbucks person but I will pick The Milk Road over Starbucks ANY DAY. Pet-friendly. Great outdoor set up. Will ALWAYS recommend.

I had looked up coffee shops near me and found two, the other one was closer so I went there first (big mistake). That coffee was undrinkable and so I came straight here. Not only did they have way more options but they were so much more polite than the other shop I had first gone to. My oat milk latte was incredible, milk steamed to perfection. They saved my morning. I doubt I will ever be in this area again but if I am I will make a point to stop back in and try out the rice milk or hemp milk!

Stylish decor, fresh ingredients, prepared beautifully, & delicious waffles! The waffles are epic and enough reason to come back themselves. The latte and the tea are absolutely phenomenal. Fresh and prepared 100% Instagram worthy. The inside is so stylish and inviting and they even have some fun board games by their comfy couch.

Quiche and Blueberry Cardamom pocket were great. We were pleased with the espresso as well. From out of town so I got some whole bean , it did not disappoint!

Great music selection. Super cute atmosphere, little eclectic! The iced coffee was enjoyable, a little too sweet, but that’s because I didn’t specify less sugar, so that was my fault. Their waffles are pretty dope. Definitely a great local joint for a cup of joe!

Really amazing spot. The back yard area was really comfortable and well done. Pretty neat that they had sheds with seating. The coffee was very good and strong with good flavor. Far far better and cheaper than Starbucks.

Milk Road is a great spot to go and grab a fresh cup of coffee. My wife and I had one of there incredible waffles, and an awesome personal sized quiche. Everything tasted amazing. We highly recommend others to go and enjoy the food, the friendly staff and the outside sitting area. Best part of our visit there.... We were able to bring our dog! Great place for coffee with a cute vibe missing in most of Jacksonville. The Coffee gardens out back is also perfectly splendid for a lazy morning sip and read. Wish they were more centrally located with other stuff around them but that’s Jacksonville’s problem, not theirs.I do wish they stepped up their food game though as the selection is limited. I ordered a bagel and cream cheese, received a toasted bagel in the bag and a single little plastic Philadelphia cream cheese packet and a plastic knife. Please take the time to spread the cream cheese on the bagel for the customer and realize a single 3/4oz packet isn’t enough for both sides of the bagel.

Very few flavor options. I had the caramel latte and it tasted like Starbucks quality (a little worse honestly) The more I drank, the more sickeningly sweet the drink got. Not a good sweet either, very artificial tasting. I almost couldnt finish it. I recommend Coffee Haven in Sneads Ferry! The quality of the coffee is way better.

I wanted to like this place.But, it’s a bit pricey for one. Two, the waffles taste weird. Not weird in a gross way but weird in a fermented, I like this but it tastes like beer kind of way and I don’t want anymore.The drinks were all... meh.

If you enjoy things like getting a black ice coffee or a basic breakfast item this place is not for you. The lady behind the counter could not comprehend not wanting items like milk or espresso in a coffee.If you enjoy adding more shenanigans into your morning drink than other establishments have in their inventory than you have come to the right place.

The atmosphere of this place is so cute both inside and out! We’ve tried iced coffees, americano, teas and some food products and have always been pleased. If you come to this shop make sure you have 30-40 mins from coming in to getting your order. They could probably prosper in adding more help or training baristas to be faster. Today we had a 15 minute wait to order (with 4 people in front of me) and an additional 25 minutes to get our order. This is a trend with this establishment. Otherwise everything is great!

Coffee is great. Sometime they’re made a little different even though I order the same thing. The outdoor seating is a plus!

A fellow veteran and I decided to check out a new coffee place; being a veteran owned establishment, I figured it would’ve been a down to earth place. I explained that I can’t wear a mask, due to medical reasons. She shook her head, and said “then you can wait in your vehicle”, being very condescending. We waited 23 minutes for a warm cup of coffee. Lack of respect, manners, and bearing. We will not be coming back.

The Milk Road is a place you could easily pass every day for years and never know it was there. I drove by it most days and wondered what it was. On a whim one weekend my wife and I decided to check it out.The outside is an unassuming steel building, but inside is quite the opposite with a modern feel and a cozy atmosphere.Our barista, Angela, was very helpful and friendly. The coffee is roasted in house and tastes amazing. They offer an ample selection of drinks. We also discovered their homemade Belgian Waffles (made with local ingredients) which were equally delicious.We were pleasantly surprised by the Milk Road and will definitely be coming back.

Checked out this new Jacksonville coffee shop with the family this morning! Their yummy hot beverages pair perfectly with their liège waffles & they were even kind enough to offer my 2 yo a mini & slightly cooled hot chocolate of her own.

Although the shop is kind of out Im the middle of nowhere, this is high quality coffee and it is TOTALLY worth the drive! If you are one of those people who really enjoys good, locally roasted coffee, then this shop is for you. Sophisticated coffee and tea beverages that are not overpriced. I highly recommend stopping by.

So it was my first time going there and the coffee was good, I had a iced Americano sweetened.Now the waffle was good too. I just wish they tell you they are Premade and under a heat lamp. But they are still good and goes great with coffee. I do wish the waffles were served hot. The girl that was working on the front counter was very nice. The atmosphere is really nice my husband and I enjoyed are coffee and waffles out outside. I will be back for more.

Very pleased with how the barista does my lattes. The milk is froth to the right temperature and not over steaming it, with great taste and aroma without having to add sugar or sweetener. Until Im able to get a new machine, this will be my go to place for my expresso latte.

The Milk Road looks a bit like a small, privately owned auto body shop from the road. So much so that it wasnt until a friend invited me that I actually went.First impressions? A hipster version of Starbucks with similar prices and fewer selections.My first impressions were right but its so much more than that. The employees are absolutely stellar! Theyre down to earth and knowledgeable. Even with fewer selections if you tell them what you like theyll steer you in the right direction.They have delicious homemade waffles and other sweet treats if youre hungry and theyve got the best chi Ive ever had which is just as good without sugar.They have a large seating area out back and allow you to smoke which is refreshing as I despise being treated like a social pariah for my chosen vice. Its utterly disgusting when the world forces their opinions down your throat for your own good, no matter how or why the forcing manifests.The decor is something close to industrial meets Soho. The walls are decorated with art for sale from local artists which I have all the respect for. Many months later Im still going and I intend to continue. I now refer to The Milk Road as one of Jacksonvilles best kept secrets. I adore this place and I hope their take us or leave us attitude stays put! I will happily take you as you are, you beautiful, unapologetic place of coffee refuge! Twenty six thumbs up!

Hands down favorite coffee shop! I travel to different states and my favorite thing to do is try local coffee shops. Out of the 50+ shops I’ve tried, this is my favorite! The quality of the ingredients and work that goes into each drink has definitely raised my expectations when I try other shops! Definitely go get a coffee and a waffle, you won’t regret it. Hubby has always wanted to come here and so we finally did. Really cute and chill vibe. The time we came here it was full with ladies hanging out so you know this is a go to coffee shop. My hot Americanno was made to perfection with creamer and sugar and our banana muffin tasted home made deliciousness. Definitely a great place to go to when youre not going for convenience like Starbucks.

Love the Out of the Way atmosphere. My $5 green tea is a bit pricey, but its a nice place to relax. They have a really nice outdoor area, just need to get rid of the wasp next, and set up some carpenter bee traps. Put up a nice covering for the patio, with a ceiling fan or two, and you will be spot on!

The Good: prices are very reasonable, and thats a plus in this area. Coffee is great! Good selection of styles(latte, iced, brewed, Americana, shots, and pour over). The look of this place is awesome, starting with the outside and it doesnt disappoint once your inside. Waffles are out of this world! You must try them once, you only get 1 for $3. But trying it once is well worth it! People are very helpful!The Bad: the pour over takes a while and that could be fixed by having hot water on demand. 1 waffle for $3...come on son! The atmosphere during the day needs to be peaceful not filled with loud music, I could caring a conversation with my friend because the music was an annoyance. And finally the tables that you can sit at are wobbly and I spilled my coffee from a tiny bump.

Meh. The coffee was good, but the waffle? Tasted like chemicals. Seriously, it had some strong chemical taste to it. I dont know what it was but I didnt even want to finish it. It was not good. Definitely disappointed and wont be returning because the drive isnt worth it. I can still get good coffee closer to me.And, just FYI I have a huge sweet tooth and Ive never been known to turn down or dislike sweets! So for me to say that about the waffle, which is supposed to be a big seller here...

I really want to love this place but the last time I was here I noticed that the employees making the baked goods weren’t wearing gloves and we witnessed them doing things like grabbing rags to clean and not washing their hands before returning to the food. I decided to come back today because I love the coffee and the waffles. we got there and there were 5- 6 people behind the counter one of them was eating a sandwich behind the counter by the food/coffee prep area and we didn’t see her wash her hands.It took a while to get our two drinks and waffles, even though there were a lot of people behind the counter, and then our waffles were stale. I’m pretty bummed because I really wanted to support this local business! But I don’t think I’ll be back if the employee cleanliness doesn’t get better. Especially in an establishment that allows dogs inside(And don’t get me wrong, the German Shepard inside was super cute)

Very nice atmosphere. Great coffee. They use a pour over technique that brings out the flavor. The best part is the German waffles. They are lightly infused with sugar and provide a very nice taste. Paired with the coffee it is a great afternoon or evening dessert. Its a must try. Well worth the visit.

The Milk Road is a light in the darkness, the great coffee awakening that Jacksonville needs. The atmosphere created by the Milk Road team is inviting and comfortable. The quality of coffee is far superior to anything Ive had before, especially their take on Ice Coffee. The waffles will positively astound you. Get three. I raise my mug to The Milk Road and thank them deeply for providing such an astonishing experience in a sometimes hapless place.

I went in today and people that were working were just Sitting down And listening to music with his head phone and taking his time to take our order and when the did get up to see if we were ready he didn’t say how can i help with you or how may I help you. What an amazing place! The barista made me the most phenomenal vanilla latte with oat milk. Ive had lattes in the past with oat milk, and it just never tasted right. The barista at The Milk Road steamed the milk to PERFECTION. I was super impressed!The waffles they make here are OUT OF THIS WORLD. You gotta try one when you stop in!The atmosphere is cozy, yet super trendy. Its the perfect place to pop in for a quick drink or stay for hours and get work done.They have an outside area equipped with heaters for colder days, amazing umbrellas hanging for decor, and a beautiful seating area. They have a really large yard in the back, which is perfect for kiddos to run around while youre enjoying your coffee.They do not serve decaf coffee beverages here (i.e. no decaf drop coffee and cannot pull decaf espresso shots)If youre in Jacksonville, put this on your list to stop in at! You wont regret it!

I just tried this place for the first time today and it was amazing! The Barista reccomended a shakerado. Basically two shots of espresso, sweet cream, and I added caramel. The waffles were also great! I will definitely come back soon.

By far the best place (one of the only places) to get a decent espresso drink in Jacksonville. Also worth trying is their brioche waffles, though best when fresh. The staff is also super friendly. My only complaint are the hours. They arent open long enough for people with normal jobs to go on the weekdays.

Their tea is incredible, and every month they have creative pastries to test! Wonderful service, great atmosphere, and even better people working.

This Coffee Shop is a hidden gem in Jacksonville. The exterior of the building resembles a converted car repair shop. The interior is clean and is set up really nicely with red brick walls and natural wood and metal furniture. The coffee is very tasty and is brewed strong. The waffles are cooked perfectly with syrup and sugared glazed on them definately a great small business to visit over the larger ones any day.

Super cute place where you can sit inside in chairs, a sofa, at tables, or at a window counter. There is additional seating out back on the patio and in the large backyard. Free wifi. Excellent coffee drinks and pastry menu. They also sell fresh ground coffee.
