Stopped in to get my friends birthday cupcakes. Ate a breakfast while I waited and the breakfast sandwich was deceptively delicious! Tastes way better than I thought it would and really hit the spot!!!

Wife and I stopped by on a whim to get something sweet. My cupcake was good, but alittle dry and very crumbly. My wifes cupcake was much better. I think the one I had was older.

This a lovely locally owned cafe and bakery. They also have a breakfast lunch sandwich called the Southerner, it is the best, egg, cheeses, bacon, and a special relish...I order without bacon as we don’t eat pork and it’s the best!! They have a lot of sweets, cupcakes, muffins, etc so very good! I’m a picky coffee person and this is the best coffee in town!

Went in today for the first time and was disappointed by the experience. Barista was not wearing a mask and gave me a condescending attitude when I ordered my drink (i drink my coffee black which he kind of scoffed at?). Very bizarre experience. Every other establishment on St. Johns Ave is taking precautions to keep their customers safe. Wont be returning even though its the closest coffee shop to my new apt.

This cafe is a wonderful find. The coffee is fantastic. I like my coffee strong so its perfect for me. Ive had their cookies which are great, but their banana muffin is amazing. Its my favorite so far. Its a cute little place and I plan on dining in soon for lunch for a sandwich. The couple that run and own the cafe are very kind and sweet. And I love the pictures their daughter draws and paints. She is very gifted for a 10 year old and Im buying her drawings now as Im pretty sure she will be famous one day!!

Old Cup Cafe is the best bakery in Jacksonville!The couple that own Old Cup Cafe are talented bakers and take such pride in their creations.Their cakes are so delicious and decorated beautifully!They are willingly to work with you and take such care in making sure you are satisfied & happy with not only cakes but all of their bakery goods.They made an Alabama themed cake for my Dads 90th Birthday and he was delighted with it!!! Everyone at the party raved about how beautiful & delicious it was! I highly recommend them and know you will really like their cakes

Great place to buy birthday and thank you gifts from. Excellent, tasty, quality cupcakes and cookies! Will never tire of their chocolate meringue, peanut butter and snickerdoodle cookies! Coffee and other drink options abound, as well. Honestly, Im not even a dessert person but I love all the food options in this place! Locally owned. And a little bit of insight into the background of this cafe: the original owner was given her secret peanut butter cookie recipe from a friend who owns a Manhattan New York bakery. Youve got to try it! ☕ 🧁 😊

Perfect cupcakes cakes and pies

Stopped in for an afternoon pick me up and paired my drink with a chocolate walnut meringue. It was a wonderful French-style meringue with chunks of walnut and a lovely chocolate flavor. I don’t know how they kept them crisp and dry in Florida humidity, but it was as good as anything I had while living abroad. I will definitely be back for more.

Theres a very nice man who works here, Im not sure if hes the owner but he always makes my coffee and its good! I also love the decorations they do for every season.

Came down to Jacksonville for a visit and my friends gave me a birthday celebration!!! The cupcakes that they served came from Old Cup Cafe. They were the best I have ever tasted. Each bite was melt in your mouth delicious. Absolutely the best ingredients,put together,with the perfect balance. What I loved the most is that they are not overly sweet. Just perfect!!!

The man that runs the cafe is very sweet and definitely knows how to make cupcakes! They always have delicious cupcakes out, and MOST of the time he has clearance cupcakes out for half price! Its a wonderful place to study or chill because its always slow and quiet. There are also plenty of coffee and tea options!

Got two things. A raspberry shortbread (bar) and a lemon shortbread (bar). Ive never in my life had something with raspberry on it be so bland. It was like eating barely sweetened flour. The lemon bar was slightly better, but most assuredly not worth $3 each. Very clean place, and cozy feeling, until I interacted with the... Employee? Owner? Not sure which he was. I think the only thing he said to me was my total, otherwise it was like I intruded, and he ignored anything else I said. At lunch time. In an empty bakery. In AVONDALE. ON A SATURDAY. Between the cold employee/owner and the exceptionally bland selections I made, I wont be back. Im hoping it was an off day for them, and in general they perform better, but Ill give my money to places that have better tasting goods AND are consistently friendly to their customers.

The shop looked inviting inside and out. Cases loaded with a large assortment of tasty looking cup cakes...We ordered two to eat there. Big dissapointment, dry dense cake, the frosting on the Strawberry was tasty, but the Salted Caramel was like eating sweet cold lard....

I dont typically leave reviews for any businesses, but we had such a great experience with Old Cup Cafe that I couldnt not tell everyone!Its my moms 60th birthday and shes asked me to find her a mocha mousse cake every year for the last decade or so. She has this very fond memory of our young family growing up in upstate NY. Not far from us was a bakery that made a phenomenal mocha mousse cake. When my sister found that the Old Cup Cafe could make a similar cake, we decided to give it a shot. It did not disappoint!! Our entire family agreed it was one of the best cakes theyd ever had, and my mom said it tasted better than she remembered!! We will definitely be repeat customers ♡

Had an iced macchiato and it was excellent. The gentleman running the shop does not have a particular gift for customer service but he makes a mean cup of coffee!I didnt have any of the food, so I cant speak to it.

Unfortunately this cake is nothing like what we expected. As soon as we cut into the cake it immediately crumbled. I even tried a warm knife hoping it would help the cake to stay together. I have made many cakes over the years and know that this is what happens when an ingredient such as too much flour or not enough fat is overused or underused respectively. I very nicely attempted to let the owner know but they refused to take responsibility. I am not one to complain but paying $135.00 for a cake that crumbled is ridiculous. They only offered me a credit on my next cake which I obviously will not take because of their lack of professionalism. I have taken multiple pictures of the cake and would be happy to share with anyone who is thinking of getting a cake from Old Cup Cafe.

DO NOT ORDER a CAKE from this PLACE!!!I ordered the cake on 3/29/18 Thursday for my mom & sisters birthday. I told him I want buttercream icing & he said ok, do you want white vanilla for the cake part? I said, yes, that would be great. We picked the cake up Saturday afternoon & white vanilla cake is NOT what we got. It tasted like a corn meal cake, it was a yellowish color...looked like a corn casserole dish. There were 12 people at this party & everyone agreed it was not very good. We thought there may have been a mix up in the flour & corn meal when they made the cake, giving them the benefit of the doubt. The cake decorations were beautiful & we thought it was just a mix up with the flour or something. So my mom took it back up there Tuesday, 4/3/18, to let them see the cake & explain / ask what happened. Then he (Im assuming it was the owner) turned into a MAJOR JERK, getting very defensive & rude, simply because we questioned the favoring of CORN in a CAKE. We tried them.They sucked so take my advice & order your cake somewhere else. Try For the Love of Cake...should of ordered from them to begin with but I thought id try a new place, BOY, WAS I WRONG!?!?!?!

Foolishly had the black eye coffee and feel like Jim Carrey in the Red Bull scene in Yes Man. It was great coffee though. Also tried a chocolate buttercream cupcake which was beautiful.
