Had a great experience! I went to get some protective stuff for some old cards and walked in based on a recommendation. All of the staff were super attentive and so friendly. They have a great selection of card stuff and I grabbed the first card box I saw. Luckily the staff member that helped me asked me what I was looking to do and was able to get me the right box for what I wanted and made some great conversation and recommendations.

ConsVibe: Java Game Haus would literally become 1000% better overnight if they switched to warm lighting instead of Intense White Light.Staff: The concession staff are kind but sometimes unprofessional.Store policies: Its a little confusing what exactly the haus policies are for paying for tables because they arent enforced. People come and go without paying. Sometimes more than one person pays for one table. Sometimes one person pays for a table and everyone else doesnt. Staff arent knowledgeable on who is a member and who isnt and dont seem comfortable figuring that out.ProsGreat games, clean tables, fun place.

Java Game Haus is my favorite place to play board games! They have lots of table space, a huge game library, and a great selection of games for sale. The owners and the staff are always friendly and helpful. The table fees and memberships rates are very reasonable. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve had off their menu, and they’re always adding new things to try. Check it out!

Very helpful employees, great food and drink, and the supply for gaming is well stocked. They sell out of magic sets fast, but they are just as quick to restock. The board game selection is unrealistically large.

We had a wonderful experience at Java Game Haus today! Our family loves board games and we were excited to see that they had great selection. The owner helped us learn a new game and even our teenagers said they had a great time. The coffee was fantastic and the food was really good! Well be back next time were in Jacksonville!

I have been here on three separate occasions and although I enjoy the atmosphere and the beverages, the staff have not been very helpful. First time they didnt know the pricing of the tables fees, if they were per table or per person and I had to remind them it was per person. Second time, they were unaware of board game meet ups on Wednesdays wether they were an official or unofficial group. Third time, they were also unaware of the learn to plays and that it was done earlier in the day when the calendar states 5pm.I want to like this place but it is overcrowded with unknowledgeable staff.

Java Game house is a wonderful meeting place for Board Game lovers and an excellent place to be introduced to modern Board Games if you are new to the hobby and want to learn more.

At first I like this store, but today changed my mind and lost my business. Ive been going to this store everyday for a week, plus on and off for two weeks. Ill play magic the gathering with just my husband and myself, we come in at opening (3 pm) and always leave before a tournament or make sure we are not in the area for them. Weve never had to pay for a table nor had an issue with the staff, till today. We walk in and order our drinks like normal and are told that in order to even play at a table we HAVE to pay the table fee, never had to before. Well, we pay for that (we where not told that it was each person either till we pay). Then we start playing till an HOUR AND HALF before the tournament starts and no one is there for it and are told that we would have to move for the tournament, but there are no other tables available so the staff doesnt know what we are to do, (even thou they even said that some people that are playing didnt pay the fee to play). And didnt offer a refund since the fee is for a table all day. There was another regular there as well that was told the same thing.

Great atmosphere. They have a game wall that you can rent for 5 bucks. Get to play all day. The staff if very friendly. The coffee is great and they have a great food menu. Card tournaments throughout the week.

Placed my order around 3:10pm today, there was literally no other customers inside, I got a cold brew and a small side of fries, the coffee came out after a few minutes but I sat there until 3:57 waiting for FRIES. I could understand if there was other people inside and they were backed up but there was no other food orders and the girls were just standing around and talking to eachother. I don’t see why it takes almost an hour to make fries, I ended up leaving without getting them because I had somewhere to be and they still weren’t done. Definitely my first and last time coming here

Java has always been the kindest towards me, allowing me to come in just to study when I was in school. Great, welcoming atmosphere. Café makes the best matcha latte I have ever had and wont get one anywhere else now!

Highly recommend, bring a bunch of friends. The coffee was great and they were even willing to do custom things to my drink. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and sweet. There are tons of different games to play, or you can bring your own. They also have tons of cards and card products, and they buy cards. Theres lots of space, but it can get busy.

I went here for the first time today and its so cute. It smells really good inside. Theres such a variety of people who come in and out. They have TONS of board games to play. Theres big tables for people who wanna play dnd with their group.Also they have their own take on butterbeer and oooohhhh my God its so good, please try it.

Excellent combo of small eatery and game shop! They do board game and RPG rentals, amd have am excellent stock of board and card games for sale, as well as plenty of table space to play. Highly recommended for the hobby game collector, or even just to stop in and get a coffee and soak in the ambiance of people playing games.

Have come here for board games multiple times was really good! Then my Aunt and Uncle started me in Magic the Gathering taught us all they knew and then my girlfriend and I came here to get our own decks. They hooked us up with starters told us what is good to get gave a discount and then sat us down to play! Then went back a couple days later to sit at the table to play with my Aunt, cousin and gf and they let us stay later after they closed to finish our mtg game! Amazing staff service and people!

I had just complained to my hubby that the game stores in town were not girl friendly, and he brought me here. Super clean store, comfy chairs, civilized beverages (tea, coffee, beer, wine) food items , and great service. Theres a whole wall of board games to try out. Cleanest, nicest smelling, most girl-friendly game store in Jax!

I love this place so much, I recently moved here from Fort Myers after dealing with the disaster from Irma and this place immediately made me feel right at home. I love their coffee, its on point. And their nachos and cheese is perfection. Ill be here probably every week tbh. Heather is the best person Ive ever met, so kind and considerate and an awesome person to have a conversation with, more so the reason Ill be coming back often. (If Im playing this game incorrectly Im sorry lol 1st time with this one)

Omg a gem. I love the atmosphere. It brings back good memories with all the games and trading cards there. Everyone is so kind. And the coffee...I can actually taste coffee. It’s actually a coffee house that you sit down and enjoy.

Amazing time in the storr while attending an RPG tabletop session. Staff was super helpful and courteous while helping out with merchandise sales and cafe ordering. House coffee was great, along with a buffalo chicken flatbread. Looking forward to coming again!

Came here with my sixteen year old son. We were staying at the Holiday Inn Express in a neaby mall, didnt have a car and needed to grab some lunch. It was an opportune find on Google maps that led us here. We had the pizza slice and some fruit smoothies whilst we played Scrabble. The food was good and wasnt expensive. I couldnt get over the choice of games to play. There must have been over 200 to choose from. Somewhat unadventurously, we went for something we knew! There were others in the café that clearly knew what they were doing and were regular customers. There was a guy road testing new games with willing volunteers. There was a good vibe in the café and if were ever in Jacksonville again would happily return.

Love this place! My wife and I have been there twice now, once to pick up a MTG order and once to play board games. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. There is a huge selection of games to play while there and plenty of tables to accommodate everyone. We had a 3+ hour date night there and only spent about $35 including a decent meal, so the prices are certainly fair. The atmosphere here is fun, friendly, and relaxing, even on a Friday night. I highly recommend stopping in sometime.

This place had a great atmosphere. The employees were very nice and helpful. They had a variety of cards from card games depending on what you’re into, unlike some other places that focus on a certain game. This is a great place to meet up with some friends and play some games. I will gladly go back for a visit. They sell snacks and drinks there, or if you’re in the mood to eat, it is conveniently located next to restaurants. Hope this helps!

This shop is great for hanging out for a few hours with friends to play games! They serve some food, as well as coffee and smoothies. Its helpful if you or a friend already know how to play a game there, so you can spend time playing instead of learning. Definitely has a community feel to it, Ive played a game with strangers before and had a great time. This shop also hosts tournaments for certain deck building games. If you enjoy board games give this place a try! $5 to play per person.

Really a nice place to visit. Weve been a few times, including with my 4 year old during the day. Everyone was welcoming and laid back. Seems to attract a good crowd at all hours. Its nice that you can get a cup of coffee, a smoothie, or a yummy snack - and its all actually very good- as well as play a game. I recommend stopping by on an evening when you dont have anything to do but would like to get our of the house. 10/10 for introverts looking for social interaction.

I went here on a date night, and I was pleasantly surprised. I was expecting a cozy little place, but this place was bustling with life and Good times. There is a flat rate for a table and unlimited games afterwards. They also have a coffee / refreshment area with pretty good drinks. Youd pass this place unless you were looking really hard. Plenty of drinks (non-alcoholic) from sodas to coffees and kombucha available as well as fast treats like cookies, muffins/fritters and bagged chips to individual pizzas, chicken fingers, and sandwiches. Management and staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and very accommodating towards their patrons. Ive been a regular here for nearly a year and everyone in my family lives this place. Kid friendly but children must be supervised! Also discounts to military, law enforcement and teachers!

What an amazing place. Visited tonight for the first time with a friend to learn Magic the Gathering and was blown away by how helping everyone was. Went with some friends opening night this weekend (I thought it was opening night? theres reviews from three weekends ago). Had so much fun!! every game I wanted to play was there with expansions as well, lots of new games, and the smoothies were good! Great staff, everyone was so nice. Totally going back, great way to determine if I want to purchase a new game by playing it first.

Cute gaming/coffee shoppe. I went in looking for MTG cards but found a place Id like to come back and hangout. They do table top, board games, and TCGs. Great atmosphere and very welcoming. Knowledgeable staff. The smoothies are great but stay away from the nachos. The nachos deserve one star. They are seriously horrible.

Clean and comfy place. Tons of board games to choose from, a great and inexpensive way to try before you buy when it comes to board games. The coffee is actually pretty good as well. This is one of my favorites spots to bring a group of 4-6 friends to chill out for a few hours.

Went here with a few friends and had a great time. Reasonable price for playing games. The iced coffee I had was really good. Great selection of games and the atmosphere didnt get in the way like Ive seen at other game shops with tables available.The best part that makes this place stand out is that they have someone there who can help you find a game. It was about an hour before closing, and our party of 3 wanted to try a new game before leaving. Our game sherpa suggested a couple games that would fit our time constraints, number of players and since he noticed the games we played earlier, suggested similar styled games that he thought we would like. Then, he came over and set it up and explained the rules, which really helped, as sometimes that can take a bit.All in all, really enjoyed our evening and we will definitely be returning.I just wish there was a list of all the games they had on hand, so I could look them up before getting there.
