I took my Dodge ram 1500 4.7 up to Harry to find out why my truck wouldnt start and I have to say they identified the problem pretty quickly I ended up needing a tcm. I have to say they was extremely honest about everything and fantastic at communicating what I needed and had to do to get back on the road. Customer service needs some help. I arrived to pick up my car at 3:59 and the door was still open. As I open it and went inside the front desk guy just started to say no, no, no. He said you can get your car on Monday. He locked my car inside of their garage. I had to call 911 to get him to allow me to pay for the services and give me my car. He then said he should charge me extra… I would not recommend doing business with them.Edit: To update based on owners response:I asked for a diagnosis and was quoted $111 diagnosis fee at ~11 am Friday. I declined his $1500 repair quote when he called me at ~230 pm Friday and I said I would come get my car. He called me at ~345 as I was in my car on my way and said he was closing early. I arrived exactly at 3:58 pm and opened his door at 3:59 where he threw a fit and did what I said he did above. Look at the photos I posted of screen shots of me calling 911 twice and his call to me to close early at 3:45. I encourage him to post video I had to call 911 and told him he was stealing my car and I wasn’t leaving without it. I don’t know what caused this man to be so rude or if he had a bad day prior but all I can see is that it all stemmed from me not accepting his $1500 repair quote.Also when looking into this business after the fact, they have two google review sites, one as uhaul that has a 2.8 review record and Viking… they are the same business with 2 google review records. I apparently had to deal with the same guy that passes out the uhauls.

I have a 2012 Honda Accord that had a very specific electrical problem. I went to my general mechanic and he was baffled. Viking took my car for the day and examined it. Ultimately they were unable to diagnose my specific problem, but the reason I am reviewing is that they were super honest, didnt try to sell me anything I did not need and they didnt even charge me for looking since they didnt find the issue. Its hard to find honest mechanics sometimes, but these folks are very trustworthy in my book. In the end I wound up getting the car fixed at Honda, but it even took them a very long time and they only found the particular issue because they have a Honda specific diagnostic computer that walked them through the whole car. I would definitely recommend Viking to someone who needed electrical or AC help. I can tell you they wont cheat you. I now know that from experience.

Car couldn’t be fixed at Goodyear or dealer. PCM (computer) on 24 year old Jeep needed to be replaced. Very clear bout the cost and lack of warranty. Thanks for saving my Jeep. Not ready to let go of it.

My a/c was failing to work intermittently, so I went out of my way to find a place that specialized in A/C work, even though it was not close to my house. I trusted the reviews I read on Google and they did not steer me wrong. I dropped my car off after hours on Monday and got it back on Tuesday with the problem fixed at a reasonable price. Glad I didnt take it to the nearby tire place that also offers repair work, as I was not in need of a robbery today, or a hassle from somebody not familiar with the issue! :-)

I came in with a left-side rear brake light out. I changed the bulb, and this didn’t fix it. I came to Viking for them to troubleshoot.The owner and tech are great folks and they tried hard to diagnose my problem on my 2016 Toyota Tacoma. The tech was convinced that I had a bad brake signal line and given the choice of them replacing the wire back to the junction point, or letting me do it; I decided to fix the issue myself to save some labor costs.I paid for their diagnostic service and thanked them for their service. I definitely recommend them to anyone with an annoying car electrical problem.

Honest repair shop! Quickly was able to assess the issue and refer me to the dealership and let me know that they could not reliably complete the repiar. They stand by their work and instead of just finding a way to charge me for something were up front and honest enough to let me know immediately they could not help me. Yes this review is telling you they could not complete the repair I needed, but a shady establishment would have taken advantage of the situation and found a way to make some money on me. If I ever have any future electrical needs I will definitely come back here because I know they will shoot me straight. I recommend them based on their integrity. If this is how they handle someone they cant help I can imagine that if they can perform the repair they will stand by their work.

This place was great! I called to get some information on the AC unit that ran to the back of a Chevy Express I recently bought. Not only did Mike give me a consult on the AC unit and what he thought the best move was--he did much much more. After realizing I was doing a van conversion for camping, Mike offered to help out my solar panels up and did a rust inspection on the bottom of my car (something I had really been putting off)! Mike handled the entire experience both professionally but still friendly and never talked down to me. I tend to return with any issues I run into with this car! Mike went above and beyond to give me way more advice, work, and inspection than I ever expected for the money I paid him. Thank you to the whole team! After charging me a $110 diagnostic, they told me it would be $400 more just to plug the lines because it would need to be welded and take at least 4 hours. After completing the job myself in under an hour I can tell you not only did they overcharge me, it is also the wrong way to do the job. There were two better options, one to get a plug kit from (any auto parts store) $20 takes 5 minutes, or I just got a new line without a rear ac connection for $60 (at any auto parts store) $60 and 30 minutes of work. So apparently anyone that can watch a YouTube video is better than their mechanics.

I have a 1974 BMW 2002 that was having electrical issues none of the lights would work. I brought it to Viking and they were very nice and professional, and even though my car is still a work in progress they treated my car as if it was fully restored and took great care of it. They also fixed the electrical problem and kept in good contact with us through the whole process. I would highly recommend them and they have got a customer for life now!

I took my 2011 RAV4 to Viking on 07/07/2020 after reading great reviews online. Sadly I did not have a positive experience. I went in thinking there was an issue with my alternator as the vehicle started having an issue starting the day before. On 07/08/2020 I received a call advising it was the battery (I thought that was strange because the battery was less than 2 years old and it was a 48 month battery). The technician said the battery would be $180! When I picked up the vehicle I was shown a piece of paper which I was told was the diagnostic. I informed the owner Harry that the date on the paper was 10/10/2016. He became upset and sad thats just the date on the machine not the date the diagnostic was run. He seemed agitated that I questioned the date. My total was $430.45 for a battery, diagnostic and labor. Im selling the vehicle so I wanted it to be in good order for the new owner so I dont regret getting necessary work done. I dont believe this was a good value. Buyer beware!

I took my car to Viking Auto Repair Electric because I had an electrical problem with air conditioner and gears would not shift. They finally found the problem. They called to let me know and how much it would cost. They will not do anything to the car without your permission. Mike worked on my car and was always very informative and friendly. Harry was very welcoming when we first stepped into the shop. I would highly recommend them if you have any electrical problems with your car. They are on Sunbeam Rd just past the post office.

Went to get my ac diagnosed and told them of the previous owner had removed the A/C. Took them a full hour to come back and tell me that was the problem. Charged me 110 dollars for absolutely nothing. Wouldn’t negotiate a even a lower price. Their own indoor ac didn’t work well which should’ve been a good clue they don’t know what they are doing.

Great experience. Got me in same day. AC had quit working. I waited in the waiting area for about 1-2 hours. Mechanic provided detailed explanation of prognosis which was that the system was leaking. They repaired the leak and said with any luck that would fix the issue but that they couldn’t guarantee it wasn’t leaking elsewhere. That was about 2 1/2 weeks ago. So far so good; fingers crossed 🤞

Harry has taking care of me and my car on several occasions. he has always been honest, respectful, and professional. He has helped me through a number of electrical issues that I’ve had. From questions about major headlamp assembly replacement to bulb changes. No issue is too big or too small. Today I had a brake bulb not working. He looked at the bulb and said it was fine. He plugged it back in and it worked, if it goes out again he knows that I have some connectivity issues. And he was completely fair with me. I appreciate his assessment skills and his honesty and integrity. He gets an A+ and I can always count on him to give me the right answer at the lowest price.

Im 72 years old. I felt like I had stepped back into time. Harry, the owner greeted me with a smile and was very attentive to everything I said. He answered every question I asked with patience, and explained step by step what would need to be done to correctly diagnosis the problem. He was very fair with his pricing. I just found out about Viking two months ago, and Ive had two major jobs done. The mechanics were also very thorough and helpful. I wont take my vehicles anywhere else unless Harry and Viking dont do the things I need done. Im not related to Harry! Just happy to find a good, honest, and fair mechanic.

Harry and Mike and Dalton were very nice and professional but since they werent able to really work on my vehicle and show the quality of work they can provide, I cannot give or take away any more stars. I wish I could give more stars, but unfortunately they were unable to complete the work I needed on my vehicle because of insurance purposes. But I would try and use them again, if and when needed.

I have all of my cars repaired at Viking. The labor prices are cheaper than the dealership. They will definitely work with you and figure out the issue! The mechanics are knowledgeable and trustworthy.

I feel that Viking took advantage of my son, excessively charging over $630 to rewire and install new terminals and a battery ($200 of the $630 was for the actual battery). The cost included a $15 charge to give my son HIS own/existing (one-month old) battery back to him, and a $37 charge for supplies (beyond the itemized parts listed on the bill). While I could understand a disposal fee if he kept the core, it seems that allowing the customer to keep a battery would be without cost. Also, $37 of shop supplies is excessive considering he itemized other parts totaling $240. Ultimately, 3 1/3 hours labor at $100/hr with a total cost of $636 for battery work is extreme.

Left my car late on Sunday night because the dashboard warning lights had gone crazy and worst of all my power steering was not working. This place was absolutely great. I wanted to wait awhile before posting my review, just in case. I had originally went to tire plus to have them check out my a/c. They quoted me a bill of $2000 to fix my a/c due to a faulty evaporator and condenser. I was shocked, but also didnt think it could of been both that went bad at the same time. Decided to get a second opinion here at Viking and Im so glad I did. They confirmed neither part was bad, rather only a leakage at the two ends of the hoses. This saved me about $1500!!! Those parts were all replaced and my a/c has been great every since, its been about a month now. I could only imagine if I would had went through with what tire plus advised, to only have the problem persist with having to spend more money shortly after... Definitely coming back here if need be.

I would highly recommend Viking Auto. Harry and his staff worked on our on 2007 Honda to make sure it would be safe to drive on a long trip. Harry and his team were very helpful when my head lamps shorted out. My fuses were fine; the head lamps themselves were okay. Within an hour or so they found the problem was due to a plastic piece in the turn signal indicator within the steering column! Who knew?It took another two hours of painstakingly taking out and replacing that one part before they were satisfied with their efforts. The crew were very courteous, and they took the time to explain to this old woman exactly what needed to be done.* NOTE: They do require an initial fee of $100 before beginning their assessment which is non-refundable. However, if you wish them to continue that amount is incorporated in the final bill along with any parts or labor. Thanks guys! I will drive from Orange Park to Sunbeam Road again the next time my car goes belly-up!

Got my AC condenser replaced in my Cadillac with a savings of a couple hundred off dealership price. It was done in a timely manner.

The owner was very nice and even drove me back to my office down the street while they looked at my car. I misunderstood how the diagnostic test and repairs would be charged, but Harry took the time to explain everything to me and make sure I was satisfied. My AC is running great, and the work was done in less time than I was quoted.

From my initial phone inquiry to job completion, everyone was very friendly and very open about what was being done. And they kept me well informed, the repair was prompt and, of course, working well!

I went to Viking this morning with a complaint of air conditioning not blowing cold. Within 30 minutes they had it diagnosed and the estimated cost for repairs was very fair. I am just not sure the truck is worth repairing, knowing it needs a lot of other things fixed. Harry and Mike are awesome people to deal with!

When the alternator on my Volvo needed to be replaced, Harry gave me the best price out of all of the shops I received quotes from (five shops total, the highest quote was over $300 more than I was charged here). Very happy.

Paid Over a $100 for a diagnostic Despite them not even looking at my vehicle past the battery. Was told I needed to purchase one of their $180 batteries before they can continue the inspection. I have check my battery, alternator, starter multiple times at multiple auto shops and they all passed the tests. Did not disclose the costs associated with a diagnostic until after the paperwork was presented to me and my car was already in the shop. They claim to want to help the customer but I still was stuck with a diagnostic fee when nothing was looked at. They also bad mouthed other companies like SunTire claiming they only know tires (not true) and other car shops as if they were inexperienced or inadequate and that Viking auto electric is the only shop able to fix cars effectively. When I shared my story with the neighboring mechanics and auto shops they were all displeased with the false information I was given. I will not come here again and Will not recommend these people to anyone as I Felt Snowballed and scanned out of my money. I also witnessed a customer in front of me who seemed displeased with their service as well so beware of the ratings you see on websites as they are not always accurate. Not an experience I would want anyone to endure. I would give them no stars but 1 will have to do for now.

Called them over a week ago about a alternator rebuild, said someone would call me, Never heard back, I called back, and could hear arguing from employees in back ground , Then he preceded to tell me to buy a new one instead of rebuild, I explained that new ones are not good and they last much better with a full rebuild, He had a attitude and i hung up, Terrible customer service!! They saved me so much money. Very nice. Very courteous. Worked vey quickly I was impressed. Very skilled car mechanics. I thought I ruined my truck for hooking up my new battery in reverse polarity. They found it was just an inline fuse. This repair wouldve cost me at least $1000 but they were able to diagnose and repair quickly and repair it very cheaply. Highly recommend Viking Auto
