I have used Maxi for the past five years. On this occasion I asked Maxi to provide a repair estimate based on the services that a dealer said my car needed. A repair estimate was completed a few hours later which allowed me to compare pricing with the dealer to ensure I wasnt being ripped off by the dealer. Brought my Kia Optima here after a clicking sound when starting. Daniel was awesome, Me and my friend left the car there while he ran tests. He soon got back with us with the results. After going over the results it was determined I needed a new battery, the price was affordable and there was no hassle at all. I am not from this area I am currently here attending university, I was really nervous taking my car to the mechanics because I was scared I would be overcharged. Overall I had a great experience and an affordable price.

They make it easy through text alerts and updates so I can see pics of my cars engine and any issues that I have to fix. Great team and great service.

First time I came here to have my car serviced for an oil change some guy named Chris or Chad adamantly tried to sell me brake pads and rotors. I had just gotten my brakes done less than a month ago at a brake place so nothing about that seemed right… shady. When paying to take my car and leave, my car was on and running, ready for me hop in and go. Unfortunately, when I got home my car would not start again on and they provided no help. Wish this place wasn’t so shady because they’re located close to where I live, but now I don’t mind driving farther for better and honest service. Save yourself and your wallet and go somewhere else on Beach Blvd.

I received a pre-purchase inspection from Maxi. They gave me a very detailed list of all issues with the vehicle which included about 5 lights (brake lights, etc) which were listed as inoperable. They warned me that it might mean an electrical component had gone bad. They also told me one of the light covers was missing. When I got back to the dealership and presented them with the report, they immediately walked outside and demonstrated to me how all lights were functional and the light cover was present. Im not sure if they gave me a wrong report or just werent sure how to operate the lights on the vehicle, but either way, I wouldnt recommend this garage.

The driver’s seatbelt receptacle in my 2013 Dodge Charger stopped connecting. This is my wife’s daily driver and needed to be fixed immediately. I called several other shops in the area and Maxi was the only one who could inspect it immediately. The part needed to be ordered and was going to take 3 days to be delivered, but actually arrived the next day. In less than an hour, Maxi repaired the seatbelt and sent me on my way. Thank you to Daniel and the Maxi team for great customer and car service. Highly recommend.

Danny was friendly and professional. The process here is very clear and honest. They dont bill you for things unless you need it and will take the time to explain what they are doing to your vehicle and why.

Have used Maxi for a couple of repairs this past year. They have been up front and honest about the repairs. Nice to have a trustworthy mechanic. Highly recommend.

This place is a complete rip off took it in here for check engine light and not turning over $1,300 later they still hadn’t even fixed the check engine light. Charged for “3rd brake light” amongst other things before they even fixed what I asked them to, to begin with. I just moved from Californian and they are worse then even California prices. $848 in labor vs $335 in parts should tell you all you need to know about this place. Anything they look at they charge $65 for without even fixing the problem. Avoid at all costs first and last time to maxi auto repair

I brought the van in because I was having trouble startingt it. I had multiple issues with my vehicle but I was on a tight budget. Dalton at Maxi was honest & friendly & kept me informed every step of the way. It ended up being a costly repair but they worked with me on pricing to keep it within my budget. The first time I picked it up the issue with it starting was not resolved. I brought it back and they discovered additional work that needed to be done which they did at no cost due to missing it the first time around. They were very fair & honest and even changed my oil for free for the inconvenience of having to bring it in twice. This shop was far from my house but was definitely worth the drive. They are AAA approved and are not one of those places that pay for their A+ rating on BBB. This will be my go to shop in Jax. Thanks bunches Dalton & Team Maxi. Very unprofessional. Don’t waste your time here. They ran a diagnostic on our vehicle and didn’t tell us how much the fee was. CARMEN wanted to save her job by lying and saying that she did but she didn’t of course and then proceeded to insult our intelligence by saying that “it’s all very confusing.” But my JOB deals with reviewing contracts every single day 😑. The lies that were told for a few bucks makes me think that they are desperate for money. Very disappointed and will not recommend to anyone. Run while you can

My car was delivered right before closing on a Thursday. Analysis of my car problem was determined by early afternoon on Friday. Additionally, a call had been placed to the warranty company to see if the service was covered without me asking. Carmen called to tell me what my out of pocket cost would be. My car was ready before closing and I didnt have to rent a car for the weekend. Great customer service and quality work.

I brought my money pit of a car into them after seeing so many favorable reviews. After dealing with them first hand I can see why the reviews are so great. I normally have a bad feeling regarding mechanics of any kind. There is a negative stigma over overcharging. I didn’t feel this at all coming here Carmen at the front desk was VERY welcoming and knowledgeable through the whole process. She joked around with me over the phone and I appreciated it as I was stressed regarding the issues with my car. Their communication was very transparent. Sending pictures and explanations through the whole thing. When I have a car worth fixing I will be taking it to them for sure.

Very Good!! Great service! Had a problem with my car took it to them they repaired my car. Two weeks later had the same problem. The new parts they put in failed. They put all new parts in a second time at no charge and did the work in one day! I will only use this shop for the repairs on my car!!

I had a great experience here. I made an appointment online, received confirmation soon after, and drop off was a breeze. Later, I got a call and an email with a breakdown of suggested work needing to be done and I called them back with what I would approve. They were very timely, efficient, and polite. My only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that I felt the estimates were a little expensive for the work suggested, but that can happen anywhere. Overall, I am satisfied!

I will most definitely use them again. They were amazing and professional. They where able to find and fix the Exact part for the AC that needed to be replaced and did it in a timely manner.

Our vehicle broke down and they had it for about a week or so, $1500 later, it broke down in less than 24 hours later. Of course they say its not what they just fixed thats a problem. Wont go back

I delivered the car to them at 7:00am Monday. It had been missing for a couple months along with several other complaints. They called and texted at 9:00am with list of prioritized items that needed to be done. They went through list with me and we decided on what was to be done. He quoted price and time. It was completed by the agreed time and price on Tuesday. I paid through a link they sent me. There was a lot of work done. It now runs as it should. They went out of their we to make me happy. Have patronized this company for about 4 years. Todays work was a continuation of their great service. I had a battery issue, called AAA for a jump and they recommended bringing it right in. While it was still running, i called Maxi and they agreed to to look at it right away. They identified the problem (terminals) right away, fixed it, and I was on my way. I have a Dodge Sprinter 2008 that need work done. I am a women and it is very hard to fine a place that does good work and will not talk down to you. The guys at Maxi Auto Care are great to deal with. They are the best. The work is done timely and I had to have a part that came from another part of the country. They keep me informed about when the part would arrive and when the work would be completed. I need a new wheel and the first one came in was brushed and the next one had a scratch. They were able to get one and get it put on. They do not try to over sell you. They now have were they send you an invoice and you can pay on line. Speeding up the pick up of you vehicle. I think if you need your car worked on, give them a try. I think you will be happy with them! I am!

Out of town and I was hoping I could find an honest mechanic I could trust. When I met Kevin the owner and and saw the AAA logo I knew I had the right place. Being from out of town they could have overcharged me for the work they did. I was expecting $500 to $700 for the work that they were going to do. Iwas presently surprised when it was under $200 cars running great Ill be going back to them again.

Went today to get some work done on my kia soul. The guys there are very nice and up front with you about everything that your car needs. Considering how busy they were they got our car done as fast and they could. And now its running smoothly. Will be going back soon for a tune up. This is gonna be our go to place for any car repairs in the future.

My in-laws were traveling through Jacksonville and the car began to make noises and didnt steer correctly. They called to have it looked at. They had everything up and running in no time, and were particularly thankful to Carmen, Kevin and Jason. As family, we are also absolutely grateful for their services.

I am a nerd in many ways, but I know very little about car mechanics. I drive a 2007 Nissan Frontier, that I have owned since 2006. It has driven over 200K miles, and is still going strong. I treat it like myself, and I entrust it to few people. The EXPERTS at Maxi Auto care are among them. They have been patient and knowledgeable about pinpointing an ongoing Oxygen Sensor issue. I have gone back repeatedly, and they have never been rude, nor have they ever charged more than a job was worth. (Yes, I researched their pricing before agreeing to the work.) And, their solutions work! The front of office people (Jason and Carmen) are good listeners, and have the technical knowledge to answer a multitude of questions, which is comforting. Lastly, the technicians always seem happy; I have walked through the garage. I wholeheartedly, with zero reservations, recommend Maxi Auto Care on Beach Boulevard.

Another place told me I need an expensive repair which was a safty issue. They just wanted me to pay for extra things. Thank goodness for Maxi Auto.

There’s no place I trust more with my car. Most recently, my 2015 Honda Accord was having issues starting. I dropped it off late Monday and on Tuesday morning they had it diagnosed and I was able to pick it up that afternoon. They replaced the starter and it runs good as new. They’re an honest shop that doesn’t try to take advantage of you to sell unnecessary service. I appreciate how quick they were in finding the problem and communicating it. I even received follow up the next day to ask how it was running. Thank you to Jason and his team!

I took my car here after receiving a bad brake job. I called before then went in, he remembered me ... they fixed the problems kept me updated with pictures and gave me recommendations. The price was unbelievable for the service they provided..

Took my 2009 Subaru for 2nd opinion about engine leaks. They cleaned the engine and did an evaluation and did not find any leaks at this time. Asked me to bring car back after 500 miles for them to check again at no charge. I found them to be very professional. They were recommended by a family friend. First time using them to service my car - impressed with their service and highly recommend them. Will definetly use for future car repairs or service.

I have been to Maxi 3 or 4 times. Every time I go in I learn more and I feel like I have actually saved money because of the value I receive. If I went 3 or 4 hundred times, I am certain I would feel the same way. These are old school honest and professional people. The funny thing is no one there seems old. Everyone is upbeat and content to be working there, they talk to each other like old friends, there’s no yelling and no one is disgruntled. These are the kinds of people you want as your neighbors. An entire business could not be full of people that could each fake it so well. Go see for yourself, and you will never want to go anywhere else.

9/10 stars only because there is always room for improvement, but if you are looking for a place that is trustworthy and will do great and affordable work on your car without the hassle of declining all the extra work most shops try to push on you, Maxi Auto Care is the place youre looking for! Professional, courteous, knowledgeable, considerate...the list goes on and on. The last time I felt this pampered was when I wrapped in seaweed at the spa. Incredible customer service! Although the exterior is not much to look at, the staff and the quality work they perform more than make up for any aesthetic shortcomings. Cherry on top? A few days after performing maintenance on my car, I get a personal text from one of their associates following up with me to make sure the work they performed was satisfactory and that I was happy with their service, which brings us to this review.
