The difference between the components I knew and could have is unbelievable. The new technology is incredible.

They have new and used equipment. The used equipment is checked by an experienced tech. I bought an AVR receiver 1/3 of new price in like new condition. Anything you need, Especially new, go here.

Joe and Tony went above and beyond to not only make sure that I got the exact maggies my husband wanted but also that I had everything I needed to hook them up right away. They even had me take photos of my existing setup to make sure! Excellent service and very professional.

Great variety of mainly new, and some consignment, stereo components. The equipment ranges from excellent-sounding budget-friendly to extremely high-end speakers, amplifiers, turntables, and furniture. The store is set up like an actual house, with numerous sound-isolated listening rooms set up for auditioning components. Its very comfortable and homey, with a wide variety of records and cds to test out the setups. The new owner is very knowledgable, conveys technical information clearly, and is attentive to all customers (while giving plenty of time and space for listening to the equipment). Prices are competitive. Much better than trying to buy from a big box store or giant online retailer.

Visiting House of Stereo is hands down the best way to buy quality audio gear. Ive visited listening rooms in Brooklyn. Manhattan, San Fransico (and others) and the time that HOS takes with you is unrivaled.Best thing you can do is tell these guys your budget and whether you prefer home theater or straight stereo music and let them take it from there.The results you get will be great as youll be able to actually hear the gear youll own instead of chasing pieces of the puzzle around (ordering online) never really knowing if your rig is any good compared to others.I hope these guys are around for a real long(er) time as the service they provide is so valuable to a music lover.
