The owner is a very nice gentleman wh ok is very knowledgeable about all things comics. The store has a great selection of old and new comics, action figures, pops, board games, Heroclix and other cool geeky collectibles.I have a couple of pull lists with them and they are always good about letting you know when your comics come in. I definitely recommend this store if your looking for a comic place to frequent.

This is one of the best comic shop I’ve ever used. I think Comics Carnival is one of the oldest comic retailers in the entire Midwest and it shows. The staff behind the counter have great recommendations. They don’t just sell comics, cards, games, posters, toys, and all other SEO friendly words, they provide a shop that can sever an entrenched Grant Morrison fanatic while also being somewhere that’s great for a kids first trip to a comic shop.

Over my years of collecting comics I have found only two stores that made me feel like family. One in Tucson and the other is Comic Carnival in Indianapolis. Comic Carnival has taken of me and all my needs. Friendly staff, easy to find location and the best customer service ever. Thank you all for all you do.

I have been a customer here since 2009. You can not find a better comic book store in my opinion. They know me by name and are always willing to order me things of they dont have them. They have games on the weekends and the staff and owners are the friendliest folks youll meet. And its really nice that they dont make anyone regardless of gender or experince in comics or games uncomfortable.

This comic store is a rare one, in terms of accessibility. The aisles are wide enough for canes, walkers and wheelchairs. Although they have high shelves, they are happy to help get you anything you want to see. As for stock, they have all the current goodies and will order anything else. Enjoy!

Pretty good store. Lots of reasonably priced back issues and magazines. The only reason I take off one star is that they had all of their high-priced books in boxes behind the counter and I couldnt just peruse through them to see if anything might be an interest, I had to ask for specific items that the staff would then look for. To be fair, I didnt ask if I could look through the boxes only because I was under the impression that was not allowed. As a Comic collector though I want to be able to browse through things I might not know I want until I see it.EDIT: I changed to 5 stars, as they responded and said customers are welcome to look through the boxes behind the counter, if they ask. My fault for not asking!

Comic Carnival is fantastic. Ive always avoided comics because it seems very daunting to dive in on your own, but the people here have helped me find a good place to start into the Marvel Universe and help me find some comics that really define the characters like Captain Marvel. Im now getting multiple comics pulled and Im very happy with their prices, service, and attitudes. I will be only be sad that I have to find a new comic store in a few months as I move states.TL;DR - A+ Highly Recommended store

For the size, this place has a good mixture of gaming products. Its main focus is comics obviously. Its always stocked with new products. The staff is very helpful and family friendly. I would recommend this store. The location is perfectly snug between downtown and Carmel.

Has the most diversity of publication dates that I have seen in central Indiana so far. Plus, tons of fun to overhear the nerdy conversation while digging through massive boxes of single chapter comics. (They have full books to though :) )

Comic Carnival is one of the best comic stores in Indy. Great selection of back issues, both modern and collectors, and they keep most new issues in stock so you can always find the issues you want. Plus, the staff is very friendly and helpful. I come from out of the area, but always try to stop when Im in the Indy area.

Brought in almost 100 comic books. I get most are worth about 5 dollars. However, at least a quarter of them are worth more than that dollar amount. I was offered 5 dollars for one that they had on their shelf for 90 dollars. I have purchased a ton of comics from them. Always great service. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. I am in sales. If they did not want them, simply say it. However offering me 230 dollars for almost 100 of them and I offered to buy some comics is a rip off. Not even a counter offer.

I am from Gary, Indiana and I came down this way so my wife could go to a bridal shower. I was not allowed there so I googled local comic shops. This place is one of the better places I went to. The younger guy at the counter was very nice and helpful. The place has a good selection of back issues. Highly recommend this place.

This shop is AMAZING. I’ve been looking for the Loki Agents of Asgard’s forever. They had ALL 3 of the collections for their original price. The only places I could find them we’re on eBay for over a $100. They also had an extensive collection of singles and the employees were wonderfully helpful, very pleasant and knew what they were doing. New or old they had it. I could easily spend over $500 there if I had it. XD The overall feel of the shop was amazing, it’s decorating was equally so. Best comic shop I’ve ever visited by far. Would certainly recommend to anyone and everyone comic book fan or not. This is a stop you have GOT to make.

I love this place. Theyre doing some great stuff in the community and for the people in it. They host game sessions, allow local artists to set up tables to help promote their works, and they also host a podcast which they allow local creatives to advertise and promote on as well. The comic selection is usually awesome too.

This place never gets old. They seem to always get new stock and make sure that they take care of you when you stop in. I could spend days here, despite that it isnt the biggest place I have ever been. VERY happy with the service.

This nice little comic store recently moved into this new space that is bigger and works better. They have all kinds of comic books and toys and are happy to order things for you. As you would expect from a good comic book store they are knowledgeable and friendly.

I almost never do reviews, but I feel like this place is so outstanding I need to say something about it.I’ve been to dozens of comic book stores across the Midwest: Chicago, Indianapolis, and many places in between. But Comic Carnival is by far the best. Their prices are shockingly good, even better than most cons, and they have a wide variety of comics in stock as well as new titles. As a younger collector strapped for cash this is huge for me, many series I found daunting to collect have been made easy through comics carnival. But the price isn’t the only great factor. The two times I’ve been there, the staff was super helpful and knowledgeable, as well as just being genuinely nice people. If you’re a comic fan and youre in Indy, do yourself a favor and shop at Comic Carnival.

I love this place! It has been my comic store since I was 8 or 9 years old. That staff is helpfull , knowledgable and very friendly. Even when you dont know what youre looking for, they might be able to suggest something great!

I have a pull list & subscription for comic books. The staff always calls me to tell me ahead of time when I have a book waiting for me. Every employee is always ready to help me locate a book I need. What more can I say, its definitely MY friendly neighborhood comic shop!

Huge store with a great selection of vintage and new titles, mainstream and indies. The gaming tables are open till 8/9 most nights and the staff creates an awesome atmosphere you can spend hours here. Affordable prices. And YES they have Cathair Apocalypse!

Comic Carnival is not just a store., its almost communal. Ive been buying their comics for 30 years and I have built a pretty decent collection. The staff is fun and I enjoy seeing Rick still there after all these years. The back issue inventory is un matched. You can find just about everything you want want. Back issues worth less than $10 are on the floor, and the primo silver age collectible issues are behind the counter. It is a special place.

I have been a customer of Comic Carnival since the very early 1980s at the Carrollton Ave location. I had very very fond memories of my Dad taking me there. After today’s experience those memories are erased just by the lack of basic customer service. I’m very sorry I don’t fit your current customer profile. I’m still a person who took the time to come into your store. Maybe I shouldn’t base your company on one employee. I don’t write posts online typically. I went in to see if your company would be interested in buying some things. It’s ok if you’re not. Might want to look at them out of courtesy. Buyer not in? Might want to ask who I am and how to contact me. It took me hours to get my things ready due to a disability. As I struggled in your store I didn’t hear anyone ask may I assist you or thanks for taking the time to come in. I was given a look of why are you in my store. I even explained how long I was a customer. I went to a competitor. Very next store asked if I would like something to drink. Their buyer wasn’t in. When they found out how far I drive without even asking what I had they called their person and they came in and we did business. Even if we hadn’t I was treated far better. I was told thank you and was told hello.Now that we have done business he will be getting my good stuff.You didn’t have to buy anything. But common courtesy would be nice. I walked in with a cane and dragged in some books. I could have called ahead but I went old school to say hello to an old friend.

Pros: Huge selection of backstock and graphic novels. Love interacting with the young guy, he always seems happy and excited by his job, super knowledgeable and is great at suggesting titles you might be interested in. You really get the personal, small-town comic store feel here. They also have a huge selection of Munchkin, which is fantastic.Cons: I really dislike dealing with the older lady. I always feel like a huge inconvenience to her, no matter how polite I try to be. Recent backstock (aka like 5 issues ago) is always marked up. A 6mo $2.99 issue is $4.50 here and is $1 at Downtown. Dont understand that.
