Went in to see if they could clean an NES cart I was unable to get working, which the staff did, and for free! I ended up sticking around and spending around $100, picking up some NES games, a Super Famicom Game, a boxed SNES game. The staff was super friendly, and definitely live up to the LGBTQ friendly moniker. They seemed to massively expand their stock as well, last time I dont think I saw any comic books. They even had old X-Men cards from the 90s I used to collect.I highly recommend this place.

Grate store. The staff is very helpful and friendly. My 9yr old loves the games that i grew up playing and they have a huge selection of rare and import games and systems. Its quite funny how stuff is popular then becomes obsolete and then comes back as vintage and the price goes up.Good place for kids, adults and gamers.Go spend your money here.

Store was awesome took me back to simpler times. We drove from San Diego barley making closing time by about 20 minutes the employee seemed to be bothered by that. The whole time we were there we got please leave vibes not cool with my two sons

A selection like none other and an awesome staff. Prices of consoles and games are incredible compared to anything youll find online. Bought an n64 and it works incredibly as well as the controllers and games bought with it. Recommend a visit!

If you want great classic and new titles. Go here ive been to just about every retro gaming store and this guy knows his stuff and has awesome prices. Sometimes half of what others are asking. Just bought an original Xbox and its so clean. Works great and the games that have scratches they repair when you buy!

There’s some good stuff here for reasonable prices. I’m working on an Atari 2600 collection and I found several cartridges I do not have. I plan to keep checking back with them to see if they come across anything else I need. They have games and even consoles and accessories for pretty much any retro system. There’s even some games in the package still in mint condition. I want mine to play, but if a display case is your thing, give them a shot.

Waited 25 minutes outside (mid day) while the guy was at lunch only to be told that the game I’m looking for isnt something they carry. Not a big deal, asked if they had a watch list or some sort of notification system for people looking for these rare games, (condescending answer) and now Im done with this place. Ive had far better experiences with other retro type gaming stores and across the board theyve always surprised me with how far theyre willing to go to help their customer base, mostly because we support each other so well. This store doesnt have those hard to find items, or the local charm to compete within this exceedingly difficult market. I recommend looking online before coming here.

Honestly I love this store

Good prices, especially on what doesnt have cases. One of the guys is a little awkward and the others more outgoing but theyre really kind. Will definitely come back whenever I can.Edit: 5 stars down to 3 should be less but they still have a good selection. Ian or something like that is completely unhelpful, would rather help out answering every call and questions they had and walk away from a current transaction in person.Spent more time there than needed just waiting for him to finish phone calls not even acknowledging that Im there during the transaction. Gave me fast no or yes answers no engagement whatsoever.This place is far for me to come but I do from the customer service I got before. I do not think Ill ever come back.

I have mixed feelings about the place. I love retro gaming as well as the latest and greatest. The place tries to be both I think but does not really specialize in one. You cant find the big import collection but there are few and you do not have the latest. Nevertheless, you will enjoy the visit just like I did; a throw back in time! Do not expect to find a lot. It deserves at least one visit! They have two Atari 2600 units for sale!! :)

Solid enough store with a good selection of titles from current down to 2600ish. They tend to not have super obscure stuff like old PC or imports. Decent pricing, ie eBay + 10-30%. The staff isnt super knowledgeable but they are friendly enough and willing to look something up.

I love this place, nerd temple. Old and new games, but retros in the title, so this is the spot to be for older games and consoles. They have new games for pretty inexpensive prices too, but not as big a selection of new games as retro games. But every time I think, Damn, I really wish I still had (this and that) for the GameCube, or, I never got to play that old game that everyone talks about still, then I come here first. 5/5 stars, totally.

Love this place! Great selection of vintage and current console games. Nice store with lots of gaming related collectibles and toys to boot. It was fun to shop and also play some of the consoles and arcade games in the store!

What a throw back - I saw a lot of games here that really made me nostalgic for the old days of the console wars back in the 1990s when I was growing up. You can find NES, Sega, SNES, N64, and PS1 games here. They even had a few Dreamcast games as well. There is a wide selection of toy figures as well. Theyve got a good selection of Japanese versions of games as well. A few items seemed a little expensive but ultimately reasonable. The staff is particularly friendly and helpful. My friend and I had a few questions about finding things and compatibility and the guys who were working were really helpful.

A store that cares about there customers

Have shopped here many times. My 6 year old son loves coming here for pokemon cards, action figures, used ps3 and ps4 games. They even have an arcade game you can play for free! I have seen many action figures that i used to play with and i share with my son stories of what each character was from, i.e. snake eyes from gi joe or grimlock from transformers. I think my son loves to hear how his dad was once a kid too and played with toys and games (still does with him!) Great place to visit with your children, staff is super friendly and very helpful.

I’ll chime in on my experience it’s a mix of great and then just plain sad.Saturday was my First time in. Very helpful and let me clarify what I was looking for and under no pressure to buy. Found a little gem of a little rca plug and play ms Pac-Man. Got it home and video feed wouldn’t play (sound only) Tried it on three TVs. Called and let James know (Sunday)I let him know I live 40 minutes from the store but wanted to let him know and my concern about getting a refund if it took a few days to go out of my way to get back. Monday today I went in and asked for James. He was not there. Employee was chill at first. Even showed a different unit (which I wished I would’ve got but wasn’t shown on Saturday) it was twice what I paid for the other unit. I had him test it and the other one worked. I asked for a better price and he declined. So I asked for the refund on the broken one. He said they only do store credit. I said. No that won’t be the case. I don’t have anything else I want to buy here. I gave two choices. Give me a better price and I’ll pay more for the working unit or cash refundOn the broken unitUltimately I left with a cash refund and that concludes my shopping here.Moral of the story. Stand your ground. If you are sold a broken toy you deserve a refund regardless of posted policy. This isn’t the playground nor the Wild West. And good business is good business. Keeping customers happy means you get to keep the money too.

Very dissapointed. Called the store early to ask if they had an item in stock, said they had 2, only to find out they had 1, which wasnt working. And even after it didnt work, they put it back on display. Terrible trade in deals, and the employee was unfamiliar with his own store. Just felt like a lazy store, dont expect them to go out of their way to help. Pathetic customer service.

This place is so much fun they have a free arcade and Legos to play with I dont understand why there isnt a line outside of this building well people eat pizza from the Dominos next door the people who work there Duvall sounded knowledgeable as I play one of the hundreds of games on the arcade video game machine and theyve always been nice

I checked this place out during its grand opening and I had a blast! They had a small quest, a delorean, and donuts from the donuttery. The employees were knowledgeable and friendly. The shop has a ton of merch both new and old.I bought an NES and a GameCube and both worked perfectly.Since then Ive been back a couple of times and picked up a few games as well. Every time Ive been in Ive had a great experience. I highly recommend this shop as your best bet for classic gaming stuff.

As we all know, retro gaming is VERY hot right now, which unfortunately means that you will be paying an arm and a leg for even crappy games, since it is a vicious sellers market. Thankfully, places like RGP exist, where the selection is plentiful and affordable. Originally, a small chain in Connecticut, they have decided to expand out west, and Huntington Beach is their first location west of the Rockies, and I couldnt be more grateful that they chose Orange County.First of all, the store carries every system from Atari 2600 to PlayStation 3. Hows that for a wide net? Also, the employees are very helpful. No bad attitudes here, at all. Thank God. The owner, Kris, is awesome, and really knows his stuff. He has tried his best to make this store the cool retrogaming hangout, not just a store where you purchase and leave. So, if you like being part of a community, then this place will suit you nicely.But, we cant just live on games alone, can we? Well, they also carry retro toys and manga as well. Plushies, Pokemon cards, and Gundam models too! Yup, if youre into Gunpla, they actually have a pretty nice selection. But, wait theres more! They also have a couple of arcade machines, and a LEGO pile that you can stuff into a box for a small fee (see my pictures). Pick a small, medium or large box, and fill it to the brim with LEGOS. Pretty cool.They also carry every accessory that you could want, new and used! Yes, some smart third-party companies still make retro parts and accessories, and RGP has them all.Tired of gaming? No problem, they carry DVDs and BluRays too!Their Japanese game selection is slim. But, this place is NOT trying to be an import gaming retailer. So, the fact that they even have a few Japanese games is merely the cherry on top for me.So, if youve been wanting to get into retro gaming or if youve been one of us maniacs all along, then you REALLY need to come here soon. Terrible customer service, even for repeat customers... regrettably my advice would be to save your time and just buy games online. Called to confirm games were there for pick-up and when I arrived less than an hour later they sold the game because, someone reeeeeaaaaaally wanted it (what, a dinged up copy of Duck Hunt on a Saturday night when 1 person was in the store?!) Total waste of time.
