Ruben was very honest about everything. The whole team was able to get my car running again, since my transmission had stopped working. I was able to have my car back within 3 days. Our wheelchair van had the transmission go out recently and we needed it repaired quickly and for a reasonable price. After shopping around and feeling frustrated, we met Ruben at Aamco in Huntington Beach. He took his time to explain all of the options and prices available to us. He and the other employees were very nice and did a great job for us. We really appreciated them going above and beyond for our family as we cannot be without our van for very long as it is for our daughter thats in a wheelchair. I brought a 1992 4runner into this shop for a reseal due to it leaking after every use. I got a price over the phone that seemed to be in the ballpark of the other quotes I had received, and they were much closer to home than some of the other shops. Since Ive heard their name on the radio for years now, I figured they should be able to complete the job without issue. I drove over and met with Ruben, and we quickly went over the plan to fix the leaks. He said give them a couple days, and that unfortunately the price was going to be a little higher because the transmission and transfer case are all one part, making it heavier and harder to remove, which I was aware of. We agreed and I signed the paperwork. He did ask me to pay up front, which I though was a little weird, but figured it was all the same at the end. A couple days later he called and said there was a little issue and I needed to come down and see it for myself, so I drove down and met with Ruben to go over the issues. Now Ill keep the details of what went wrong, and the deal that was made to myself, but ill just say that Ruben was able to make me a deal that had me feeling like I could trust him 100%, so I took it. 3 days later the car was ready to go, no leaks, and I was happy with the experience. I honestly feel like Ruben had my interests at heart, and he took a giant leap to show me that was true. Ill for sure be back with any other cars, and I cannot recommend them enough.TLDR: Great shop, had a couple small issues, but Ruben handled it perfectly, and I left happy as can be.

Went in for a free diagnosis on a check engine light was told they would need it for a couple hours. Called me an hour and a half later told me they were going to have to keep it for another 2 hours and charge me $180. I asked the gentleman that help me if he could tell me any further information he told me no. I asked him if this was a ploy to get people in here so they could charge them and not tell them whats wrong and he put his head down and said yeah and he didnt want to tell me anything else. Wasnt very nice very rude wasnt honest would not recommend aamco to anybody at this franchise not a good place of business. If they do that to me theyre doing it to all their customers and I dont think the place would be very honest and probably way overpriced. Also I had to mention several times to write down my mileage on the form that I had to fill out in the very beginning he reluctantly wrote down my mileage. Not sure what that was all about but I learned nothing and it was a waste of my time. I wouldnt even give it a one-star! But it doesnt have a zero!

My 2001 Honda Accord V6 transmission died and needed a complete rebuild because most of the parts were burnt. The car was brought in on Wednesday and repairs were completed the following Tuesday. The car drives like the day I bought it new from the dealer. I was quoted a range of $2295 to $2799 for the complete rebuild before the transmission was disassembled. After the disassembly, the cost to repair was more than the high end of the range ($3400), but Ruben kept his promise and repaired it for what he quoted ($2799). After the rebuild, the idle RPM is lower than normal and has nothing to do with the transmission but Ruben and his team have offered to adjust it higher to make sure I am a satisfied customer. Overall smooth and pleasant experience to relieve the stress of a crippled car. I would recommend this AAMCO because your satisfaction is number one.

Had my car for evaluation , let them know that my car was missing 1st and 2nd gear and reverse didnt work. I payed for the evaluation, for them to tell me that my 1st and 2nd gear and reverse didnt work. then told me to pay more to find out why. So esentially i payed for them to tell me what i told them over the phone.

I came in with a 1950 Ford Crown Victoria because I was having problems with my transmission. They fixed it right up for a reasonable price and I havent had any problems with my transmission since then. They got the work done in a short amount of time and the workers were very caring and did great work and were very helpful.

Dropped by without appt for Tran-service, no wait due to CovidVirus. In business for decades with yearly Customer Sat plaques displayed in lobby. Old setup and not pleasant inside. Old Mismatched furniture, broken fan, cobwebs, dirty filth, and not sanitary for Covid conditions. Tran service was good. I had to sanitize car afterwards at home. AAMCO should have upped game.

This guy is NOT honest. Do not go here. I never got to the actual work because of two different lies just during the diagnostic phase. Tried to charge me 250.00 for a diagnostic check after telling me IF they had to do one if would be 180.00. He tried to refuse me the results of the test and only gave me minimal information after I pointed out that I needed paperwork on the service I had paid for. Rude when caught in his dishonesty. I truly believe he attempted to take advantage of a 67 year old female!

I was having issues with my 1998 Honda Civic. It was slipping. I came to aamco and they serviced the transmission. Now my car is running fine. Very honest business I would highly recommend.

I normally come to AAMCO for oil changes but my this time my car was in desperate need for new brakes, front and back. Ruben understood my financial situation and said he and his team could work on my front brakes first and when I could afford it, come back and get the back ones done. He even told me he could work it out financially so I would pay less than what I paid for the front. I came back a month later and Ruben stuck to his word. He remembered me and my husband and was just happy he could provide the service. If you can make a Saturday appointment first thing, your service won’t take long. Due to COVID, we can’t wait in their waiting area, but fortunately there’s a shopping center within walking distance or one of the guys at the shop can give you a lift. Ruben and his team are great. Vijay and Jay are also super knowledgeable and friendly. I’ve never once felt intimidated coming here, and will continue coming back to AAMCO and recommending this shop to others.

1998 Porsche 911 had engine problems. AAMCO Transmissions Huntington Beach diagnosed these problems and repaired at a very good price. The service and communication was great. If youre looking for a car repair shop, this one is definitely a recommendation.

I made an appointment to drop off my 2004 Volvo XC90 with a check engine light and my transmission was slipping. It turns out I had a pretty large leak, and the check engine light was for transmission malfunction, I was lucky that they fixed the leak and did a transmission fluid service and it came back to life! Bad leak after servive. Will be takeing it back today to see whats up ? Will update when I find out problem, but as of now its costing me my time if nothing else well they did fix the problem. They stripped the bolts the first tine.

Trustworthy company. I walked in and asked for a transmission fluid change, and before they did the work, they did a thorough diagnostic check of my transmission to make sure that it was running properly to begin with. They told me that if the transmission was having problems, then a fluid change could cause more problems. I was pleased that they were honest up front! Luckily, my car simply just needed a fluid change, but the mechanics were knowledgeable and the general manager was very friendly! I will be back when I need brakes! Thanks HB AAMCO!

Initially I took my car in to another shop and they said I needed a new transmission. FRUSTRATING. Came into a evaluate a torque converter sensor which produced a chk eng light ‼️ All I was asking for was a ROUGH ESTIMATE and refused to give me a ball park estimate w/o charging me $160 to remove the transmission pan for a further inspection after explaining I don’t want to spend any money on the vehicle at this time. I appreciate thoroughness and wanting to give a specific diagnosis but was simply looking for an rough estimate as I told them over and over. I even asked for a “worst case scenario “ w/ still not giving me a dollar amount......I’d be happy if they said “well worst case a new transmission rebuild would be $2200”.....Unsatisfactory.

I was referred to AAMCO Transmission by a couple of co-workers. They get all major car repairs done here and have always been satisfied from what I hear talking around the proverbial office water cooler. I went here the first time to get an oil change which was done quickly and was affordable, but I still wasn’t sure about big repair jobs.The second time I came here was for a major repair. After a different mechanic failed to diagnose the problem, I brought my car to AAMCO. Triple A towed my car here on a Saturday morning and AAMCO was able to get a new starter and battery put in my car within a few hours. I didnt have an appointment or anything - just showed up. It has been several weeks and Ive had no problems. My co-workers assured me Id be treated right by these guys and Id have to agree. Nobody likes car troubles, but you’re better off taking advice from word of mouth then ending up in a rut with someone else.

What a great experience, my daughter is living in Huntington Beach, I am halfway across the country, another dealership told me valve body was in need of replacement, turns out I had a wiring issue, Louis took care of me every step of the repair for half of the cost, much appreciated, Aamco management should be proud!! Give that man a raise!

I went here to get my transmission fluid change d. I was quoted $160.00 but the man at the desk wanted to charge me $260.00 admittedly he reduced the price once I mentioned the owners quote. The worst part of the service came when the car was done for some reason this loser mechanic thought it was okay to take my car while I was not there and drive to get his breakfast calling the use of my car as a test drive. This was the most unprofessional way to treat customers and I should have called the owner at once. I dont reccomend this place to anyone unless the owner fires this mechanic.RC

I am a recent transplant from the Midwest that happened because of a job offer. I went here and the service was great! It was very affordable, and trust me, that was the first thing on my mind because of the enormous cost of moving my entire life out to California.I felt like they did an outstanding job looking over my car to make sure all was well. He checked my blinker problem for no charge and let me know that my brake pads would need to be replaced soon, but did not pressure me at all to do change them then. I will be going there from this point forward and have nothing but good things to say about the service.

I was in California on vacation and had a terrible grinding noise coming from the rear of my vehicle. Steve was fantastic: he quickly determined the problem in the over-sized tires my own dealership had sold me and had the new tires on my car within a few hours so I could get on the road. He even went so far as to call the dealership at fault and arrange for my compensation for the bad tires. I cannot say enough about the efficiency and level of customer service I received here, and all for a reasonable price (something I was really concerned about, being in the precarious circumstance that I was).

Went in because of a leak on a 2004 Toyota Avalon XLS ended up being a transmission rebuild which Philip was very accommodating but it did take over the estimated time . Once I got it back a few days later started to leak again apparently something that they did wasnt installed properly but the guarantee took care of it . This made me leery of their work . A few months later another leak . The customer service is outstanding but the service two vehicles is something to be desired. I would not recommend this place .

I bought my 2006 Ford F250 to Steve because the engine light was on and my truck was acting sluggish. I thought it was my transmission because it was most noticeable when I was taking off from a stop. Turns out that it had 2 bad coils and at take off it would only run on 6 of 8 cylinders and kick back in once RPM was up. To fix that problem was much cheaper than a new transmission. Steve had it back to me the same day and I was thrilled.Thanks Steve!

Phillip was the guy who helped me, he was very professional and went above and beyond my expectations. He was able to give me a good deal. I knew my transmission for my 1999 ford f150 needed work done on it, it had been giving me problems for over a week and sure enough they said it needed to be rebuilt. Phillip did me than just diagnose my transmission, he gave me a complete run down on the usual wear and tear on a vehicle and what needed to be taken care of now and what can wait. My differential had never been serviced so they did that for me. He took pictures of certain parts that had a lot of wear in the transmission and texted them to me. Phillip did a great job of keeping me up to date on what they were doing. He made me feel like their most important customer. A few days later and I got my truck back. The transmission shifted smooth as butter. I wont hesitate to recommend aamco to my friends and family.

I had a great experience with AAMCO Transmission in Huntington. I brought my 2005 Nissan XTerra to Steve because there was a weird clicking noise when I was driving at low speeds and I knew it wasn’t right. I originally believed it had something to do with my suspension and my struts because the sound was only happening at low speeds, and especially over speed bumps and rough terrain. In actuality, Steve opened up the hood and found the problem straight away. The nut and bolt on top of my suspension had come unscrewed just a little and the clicking noise was happening as the suspension and the top of the bolt bumped into each other over bumps and rocky road. Steve fixed the problem by just tightening the bolt back down onto the suspension and it was done in 5 minutes. I was completely surprised, and very happy! Thanks a ton.

I initially just wanted the diagnosis. so I could decide if I could fix it myself. He tells me its the Catalytic Converter and will cost 344 to fix. I tell him to do the work since Im not equipped for that. 5 days later I call and my truck is still not done. He tells me that it wasnt the Catalytic Converter, that it was the Fuel Pump and that they went ahead and did it without consent, charging me the same amount? Now I dont claim to be a Mechanic, but I put the new motor in that truck and it has ran fine for years. I know that fuel pump shouldnt cost 254 dollars that they charged me for. I needed my truck and wasnt going to tell them to take it apart. This is the second time I was dragged over the coals by this place.

My daughter has a 1999 VW Cabrio, she named Bev, that I bought her for college. 7 years later Bev needed some TLC. I have had her at several transmission shops and even the dealer and they all wanted to replace the transmission and a bunch of other stuff. The average quote was over $4,000. Then I went to Aamco in Huntington Beach. In short they were simply amazing. The issue was being caused by a faulty ABS module in the engine which they sourced, replaced and the transmission is now better then ever. (They could have easily ripped me off for a transmission but they didn’t as it was not necessary). They also fixed the water leak with a bunch of stuff and checked Bev over, topping up fluids, all her coolant and the rest. Out the door it cost me a quarter of everyone else’s estimate! A month later and Bev is still driving great, smooth transmission and the happiest owner ever! Great service, awesome quality of repairs and I would recommend that if you are tired of being ripped off by mechanics and technicians, just go to Aamco in Huntington Beach - the best decision I ever made.

When my Ford pickup started acting up I was fearing the worst, from both the mechanic and my friends who are Chevy guys. All the signs pointed towards a new tranny, which is never a cheap fix, so I was on edge to say the least! I had been to AAMCO before and liked the way they handled business so I took it there right away. They were honest and told me I only needed a couple things fixed on the old one and the repair wouldn t be much at all. SUCH a relief!! I have been telling my friends about this place from my first time in but now I know without a doubt you are in good hands with these people!

I have a 2009 Honda Civic, and I have driven that thing into the ground. It has been on numerous road trips throughout the US and it has never given me a problem until about a month ago. I noticed that when I was turning, my car seemed to be shifting in some way, listing to the side. This worried me. I took it in to get it checked out to AAMCO and I talked to the guys there. They performed a check up and confirmed my fears – I needed new struts, it was time for new brakes, and my stabilizer was broken in half on my rear axle. Hmm… not great news.I was still reeling from all this information but they talked me through what was necessary and what could potentially wait a little while longer so I could save up some moolah. The stabilizer was an immediate need, and I decided to do the brakes too because I knew that would need to happen sooner or later. I left the struts for another day after confirming that my car wouldn’t fall apart on the road.I really liked dealing with everyone at AAMCO because they didn’t try to give me the run around and push me into all of the things that needed to get done. At the same time, they were straightforward and I respect that. Hopefully this review helps others make a solid choice about where to bring their car. They’ve won my business.

I brought my car to 2 places before AAMCO and I did not believe them so I brought it here for a third opinion and they had seen this problem before. I knew I wasnt crazy. They fixed it, and I am glad I took it to them. They know what they are doing.
