This Healthy Cafe is hidden within a Health Food Store that offers countless vegan options. They do offer animal proteins, vegetarian options along with vegan options. Their food is distinct in its flavor as they utilize local organic produce when available. The dish that I decided to try was the “Happy Veggie Patty Sandwich” paired with sliced potatoes as a side. The sandwich itself was delicious, especially the patty which was super sized. The avocado along vinaigrette coke slaw packed a distinct flavor. I would say the potatoes was my favorite part of the dish since they were seasoned perfectly. Once the meal was devoured, I felt satisfied, not stuffed. Seating options are tables with booths which are extremely comfortable! They do also have fresh pastries along with some local ice cream popsicles. I’d definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a flavorsome meal!

Very nice place the customer service were very friendly. I would recommend this place for anyone who wants to live a healthy lifestyle and restore wholeness to their body. Plus the restruant food is really good over here you need to give it a try. :)

I like going to movable feasts they have vitamins and health items in there if you need them. The staff knows what theyre doing and how to help you. They are always pretty nice when helping me. They also have a restaurant too and the food is very healthy as well as affordable. The staff is nice and if you go like I do they remember you.The manager or the owner of the restaurant is really really nice he goes out of his way to make you satisfied He also donates the leftover food to a homeless shelter nearby or something like that. I thought that was a plus and something really special. Yes they are very nice the place is clean and I would recommend going to try them out if I were you. It is so healthy and so good at the same time. I love it.

A Houston staple. Fantastic food and the holistic grocery to match. Try the vegetable soup. You will make yourself feel better inside and out for weeks. Also they have delicious desserts. Do yourself a favor and try this real Houston classic instead of the chains and shortlived popup flash fare and food trucks. Theres a reason this joint has been around for 50 years. Friendly staff, the owner came to our table to check how our food was and offered a free dessert. The ambient is very homelike. Food is delicious and yet very healthy. They claim they use most organic ingredients. Good selection of vegan desserts with sugar and gluten free options. We had atlantic salmon plate and feast fajitas with chicken and shrimp fajitas.

I love this place. Prices are reasonable and the gentleman behind the register is awesome!Update: Once again they have out done themselves. Everything I needed and more. The staff is always happy to help in anyway possible. I am looking forward to doing more business in the future, both as an herbalist and with our charity.

There are not enough words in the English language to describe the wonderful experience that my husband and I and our friends had today at Movable Feast!! It was our first time dining in and the food was great. My husband and I will most definitely be back. A recent health scare has both of us especially me making serious lifestyle changes Moveable Feast will most definitely be apart of making that change a permanent one.Excellent customer service and I can not say enough about how great the food is!!!!Thank you

If you are a holistic person or just looking to improve your health, look no further. They have a great selection of holistic products and actual dry herbs. They do have a 2oz minimum when buying their dry herbs but the quality is good. The cafe in there is amazing as well. My fiancé does not like trying new things especially if it’s a healthier option but she loved the food in cafe. Give it a try if you’re into healthy or trying to get to a healthier you.

Yes. Yes. And yes! Fresh food made from scratch. Smoothies. Green juice. All the best that a local healthy business can offer. They also have a supplement area. You can find a large variety and the staff is very knowledgeable and can give you recommendations. It’s a gem in Houston. Hope they continue in business for a long long time.

This place is so good! Awesome vegan food and delicious desserts. Its in a vitamin type market which is odd, but it doesnt fail to delight. Its a pretty decent value to boot. I wish they had zucchini noodles all the time.

Please help support these wonderful people.2. A large variety of food for whatever mood you are in or dietary limitations, served inexpensively and quickly, particularly given the quality of the food.Some of my faves included the vegetarian quesadillas, the enchiladas, the lunch sandwich-soup-salad combo, and the hamburger, and various vegetable-focused dishes when I am looking to eat more of them. I also like their juice options. I like the Mexican food a lot when I am in the mood for Mexican food, but I want it a little healthier than most places. Their black beans are delicious, and they have brown rice as an option. Their guacamole and salsas are delicious.3. My favorite patio dining in town. Their garden is an inspiration, and I have seen hummingbirds in it. Ive purchased similar plants for my garden after seeing them thrive in theirs.4. Desserts. They have them. I usually do not drink wine or beer there but they have a good selection at decent prices.5. Terrific to-go. They pack the food real well, and it keeps.6. The Health Food Store side is great. One half to the right is the restaurant. One half to the left as you walk in is the Health Food Store. I have discovered many products I did not know about that have been helpful. They have gifts, vitamins, food products, body care, coffee, tea, herbs, books--just a lot of things thoughtfully chosen.In sum, I wish A Moveable Feast type restaurants were everywhere, and that it were easier to find nourishing, quick, affordable food in more places. I was tricked into coming here not know it was a vegan joint. I was told when we got back to the office by staff. Long story short food was AMAZING with great service.

The food is amazing as well as the people in the kitchen. I have been coming here for about 8 years and the food is very consistent and always tastes fresh and home cooked. I have spoken to the owner a few times and she is such a delight to speak to. She is very knowledgeable about all the vitamins and supplements they sell as well as the food. The staff that works the vitamin shop are very helpful and can answer all my questions pertaining to natural health. The last time I was in, I noticed a bunch of pre packages herbs for cooking they had for sale in the back by the bulk herbs! I picked up some for Thanksgiving and they were very tasty! Keep up the fantastic work, y’all! Definitely a Houston hidden gem! I will keep dining here as long as I’m in Houston, which will be for a loooong time.

Have been going to A Moveable Feast for years, great selection of vegan, vegetarian, and ethically sourced meat and seafood options. My favorite things here are the Southwest Caesar Salad with shrimp and the Happy Veggie Plate. They have local kombucha on tap with rotating flavors each week. Love, love, love this place and the owners.

This has got to be the healthiest food spot that I have ever visited. You have to try their salmon and avocado sandwhich. Ive brought many friends to check this place out and no matter what their favorite type of food is they always love it here. No matter what kind of day youre having, try the delicious desserts or some kambucha with your meal.

The people who work here are outstanding!! They actually stop what they are doing in order to help you find whatever you are looking for but watch out for the store management, they will run over you if you arent careful because they obviously work their butts off to keep things running smoothly.

Such a beautiful store. Theres the half you first walk into, with health foods and herbs and tea and other grocery and home items - many of them organic and/or fair trade as well as being good for you. And then theres the other half, which is a beautiful cafe/restaurant with an outdoor veranda that looks out on their garden - its just a small strip but theyve done wonders with it and saves you looking at the parking lot like 99% of other places with outdoor seating in Houston! Staff are friendly and choices are great. Tried my first Beyond Burger and it was excellent! Though the onions should be cooked and not raw :) Great local treasure!

Healthy choices are in large supply here. The food is amazing. Ive only had the chicken salad - excellent is all I can say about that experience. There are a lot of parking choices and the restaurant itself has a very relaxing decor. Theres a health food store next door as well which is convenient if you need to pick up any supplements, teas, etc.

Food - clean, wholesome, simple. Mediterranean Sampler for her, Shrimp, Avocado and Cheese sandwich for me - never would have put that together myself, but surprisingly tasty. One of my favorite Houston restaurants for fresh, healthy eats is A Moveable Feast @a_moveable_feast1971 off I-10 & Blalock. Not only is it a cute, kitschy cafe with an outdoor patio for eating, but it has a neat health store attached to it where youre able to buy supplements, fresh herbs, and some unique trinkets youll convince yourself you need. 😁I absolutely love their salmon & kale salad 🐟🥗 — its gotta be my favorite dish by them (their turkey burger is a close 2nd! 🍔) Pair it with their tasty quinoa salad and youve covered all your bases for protein, healthy carbs and fats!

I appreciate this store and restaurant for its commitment to healthy, clean foods and other products. Its a great place to meet a friend for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I love to eat outside on the patio, which feels private.

Hi, Ive been going to A Moveable Feast for many years! Its a Houston Landmark! Its very down-home and feels like youve COME HOME; not pretentious at all! Theres an outdoor area with lots of tropical plants, and one afternoon I sat there with a friend while it drizzled rain, and it was cozy and intimate. Inside is great, too. Lots of loyal customers arrive for lunch. I am vegan and could eat a bathtub full of the vegan chili. YUMMY! There are loads of non-vegan items, also. Great menu, and healthy juices. After your meal, browse around the store... I always find something new and interesting for my kitchen, or something heavenly like the Cashmere Blueberry Pomegranate Hand & Body Lotion I got last week. It will make you SWOON! Give this place a try; its lovely!

So hard to find places like this! I used to go to Georgia’s farmers market on I-10 before they closed to bulk herbs and non traditional medicine. This place is better! You can find so many great things here at really good prices plus they have a cafe inside with home cooked healthy food. They have lots of vegan options.I love making my own herb blends and tonics and this store has lots to select from in whatever quantity I needed.

Lovely little health/ natural products shop in the memorial area of Houston. These products are now sold in many big stores/online but it’s nice going to these little older stores that have focused on these types of products for years. My favorite was the bulk herbal/ tea/ spices/ etc...

I have been frequenting this cozy delicious restaurant/health food store for 14 yrs. I LOVE IT! The food, baked goods and juices is amazing, the atmosphere is warm, I consider the staff to be my friends now as Im there so often. They also have numerous regulars whom I also now consider friends. I really cant say enough good things about this lovely family owned sweet spot other than you need to go and try to see for yourself!! :-))

Such great, healthy food. Love the vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options. They have fresh smoothies and juice and kombucha on tap. Their vegan chili is award winning, and rightfully earned. What else could you want? So many good options. Staff is lovely and the shop is one of my favorites for hard to find health and wellness items and gifts.

There are only a couple places in Houston that we eat and this is one of them. We are very picky with our food when it comes to quality and this place is one of our favorites. Our littlest daughter is going through chemo and we do not compromise when it comes to what we put into our bodies. We have 3 kids and they love the burgers and also the cheese sandwich. Its my favorite burger in Houston. At the same our 85 year old great grandmother says its the only restaurant that does not make her feel sick. So its a great place for the entire family. Its a family owned and run business that my dad has been going to since I was a kid. I never write reviews except on the very rare occasion that I am overly impressed with an establishment. Put this on your list - your body will thank you.

I really like this place. It’s not often that I get to go here because of how far I live. I decided to go this morning because I am running late and I got there at 10am the restaurant opens at 930am the guy is leaning on the counter talking to a guy saying hey give us a few minutes to open. I don’t have a few minutes to wait until you open when u were supposed to have been open 30 mins ago. It’s just really a annoying bc I am really hungry and I passed up a ton of places that we’re already open just to come out here and waste my time. So I’ll see y’all when I see y’all hopefully you’ll be open when you say your supposed to be

Ive been coming to this hidden gem for about 3 months now. They have excellent choices for Vegan, Gluten Free and organic meals! My favorite meal on their menu is Grilled Chicken Avocado sandwich. Their juices are freshly made to order. Healthy Dessert options are also amazing!! I come to this place multiple times a month and highly recommend.

We love this family owned and operated restaurant- and I mean the whole family works there. If I had a choice of only one restaurant, the Moveable Feast would be it. The food is fresh and delicious with simple ingredients. The employees, all of whom have been there forever, are friendly and genuine. The atmosphere is comfortable and inviting. This is truly a neighborhood gem.

No ranch dressing and no sodas. But the food is surprisingly good. The freshness of the ingredients and the presentation make the food stand out. Youll find yourself looking at the pick-up spot, wondering if you shouldve gotten what that other table ordered, because it looks good!

First of all, the daily specials usually are just that: special. Of course, theres the Wednesday special Meat loaf, a classic for years, and the Wild Salmon special, too, but tall of them are varied and delicious, just like the regular menu. Grass fed beef burger, great salads, tasty soups, even Mexican-style meals. All organic, GMO free, fresh, and reasonably priced. Second, if all that werent enough, they have a vast array of supplements, vitamins, and other healthy things. I go there several times a week and recommend it to everyone!

It was my first time eating here and it was delicious! They have both vegan and non vegan options. I opted for their Happy Burger and even though I am not vegan let me just say that burger was amazing! The building is divided into two sections - restaurant and market - so you can browse and shop their selection of healthy goods while you wait for your meal. All in all, a great experience. I will definitely be coming back!

I have been coming to this place ever since I was a young girl. Half of it is a restaurant and the other half is a herb/vitamin store along with lots of goodies you cant find elsewhere. I started just coming for the restaurant... the food is super delish. Whats so great about it is they also will customize to any dietary needs. They have great chicken salad to go and hands down the best pimento cheese Ive ever tasted. Getting older and learning about health , I find myself more on the store side. They have a whole entire wall in the back of it that has herbs in BULK. If you like to brew your own tea or make your own herbal medicine, this is where you can find nearly anything. The staff is super kind and helpful as well. I definitely LOVE LOVE the vibe in this whole entire place.

Im just upset that I havent discovered this gem sooner! I had the shrimp and avocado cheese sandwich and it was amazing! Glad I showed up early for lunch because the line was super long by the time my coworker had finished. Will be back soon! Also, the attached shop had a lot of great products and the staff was very helpful with answering questions.

This is a rare hidden gem. Their food is of great quality and they even have a pleasant outdoor seating area. The attached store has everything you would need for natural health. I didnt have much interaction with the staff, but they were all friendly. A plus is that they stay open til 9 pm.

Movable Feast is a neat little combination of both grocery store and little restaurant. They are in Niche establishment focusing on total body Wellness. Their chicken salad and tuna salad are exceptionally good. Stop by and try it out for yourself. Take it to go or sit down and eat in the little restaurant

I feel like this place is a bit over-hyped. The lunch we had was fine, but I didnt feel like it was anything extra spectacular for either of us. I suppose the prices are fair for the area and that its supposed to be clean eating. The two dollar signs, is probably pretty accurate, its understandably not cheap. I would probably choose A Movable Feast, over most sit down restaurants in the area, and definitely over any chain restaurant in the area.

Nice little healthy place with great tasting food. The place has a store and it has a cafe right next to it. The food feels definitely more organically made and the taste goes right along with it. There are several Vegetarian options but the place serves healthy options for everyone. Nice place to eat healthy.

One of my favorite restaurants in Houston. I am a health conscious person who does a lot of juicing at home. When I want to go out for a healthy meal, this is my number one choice. Their freshly made juices are so healthy and delicious. The staff are friendly and professional too.

Great selection!!! I go here for Barleans olive leaf liquid, apricot kernels for my B-17 intake and dried herbs I use to make oils and teas. Friendly and has a cafe if you need a pick me up! I had a great meal here! There are not many vegetarian places to eat that will have things for my non-vegetarian friends to eat, but this place does. The staff is friendly and eager to make your stay comfortable. They have so many options that taste great and look amazingly fresh. I love coming here to shop and have a meal. There is indoor and outdoor seating with herbs growing right outside the door. It is a place you need to check out!

Great place to buy wholesale herbs quickly without buying in bulk online. Plus the owner is great. She is very personable. I wouldnt have even known she was the owner if I had not asked. She was just so knowledgable I had to ask.

Really enjoyed this place. Parking sucked, but its in a shopping center and it was a busy weekend afternoon. I like the store attached. Good variety of food choices. Kind of dark and quiet.

Grass fed beef burger had no flavor patty was very thin. Asked to sub chips for salad she said I could buy yet I wasn’t advised of the charge. I asked for no tomatoes as I’m allergic and when I received my food everything had tomatoes. I asked for Caesar dressing and ended up with a weird spicy dressing. Ordered an almost 9 dollar green detox juice. It wasn’t cold at all and it was tiny I won’t be back.

So I came into the store looking for herbs on 9/14/18. I was able to find all of the herbs I needed and the staff was extremely friendly. My one star is because on 10/30/18 as I went to make tea with the elder flowers that I purchased some happened to fall on my countertop. I went to clean it up and noticed tiny bugs crawling around. I check the rest of the elder flowers and there are TONS of bugs crawling around. So Ive used these herbs a couple of times already so Im really disgusted because Im pretty sure I inadvertently ingested the bugs the last time I made tea. I kept my herbs in the plastic bag that I purchased in as well as the brown paper bag that I purchased them in. I also keep them in my pantry. & no my house is not a mess or dirty. Im extremely disappointed. The staff offered to take care of me the next time I came in, however I wont be back. The bugs were tiny & blended in with the flowers. I checked my other herbs & didnt notice any bugs, but I was so disgusted I immediately tossed all of the herbs I purchased.

Well, as usual, my visit was wonderful. This is always a greatly anticipated stop when in the Houston area. Just love the herb wall! Lots of stuff to make my hand crafted soaps and salves healthy and aromatic! Oh, and it always smells sooooo good in there. One of these days Im going to schedule a trip through at mealtime and sample some of the offerings in the cafe. Look forward to my next trip down that way. Thanks! Gotta love this place, very cozy feels like at home. Food was very clean and healthy they have great choices for everyone even if you are on the go a lot of great salads and sandwiches to get. Vegan choices of food and deserts low in sugar and perfect for your diet and daily calories. The deserts were so delicious especially the chocolate banana muffin highly recommend.

I have been a vegetarian for 40 years (ouch), and I have never found better vegetarian chili anywhere. The service is very helpful and polite. It’s a great place for dinner or lunch, alone or with friends.

I work in the same shopping center so sometimes I even eat here for both lunch and dinner. The ingredients are high quality and the portions are more than enough. Local neighborhood favorite. Offers simple, healthy meal options at a great price. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options. Best hummus in town, IMHO. Big veggie bowl (w/ tofu), kale salad, steamed kale, veggie chili are all staples of our weekly visit to A Moveable Feast. We sit in every now and again, but mostly use and definitely love the takeout option. ALWAYS service with a smile here. They offer a small variety of beer and wine (mostly organic) as well as kombucha. Smoothie and juicing options as well. The health food store sharing the space is always a fun browse. Glad we found this place.

They are really expensive but the food is good for the most part. I like the tofu spinach wrap there. I have had another item on the menu but it was just OK and not memorable. I want to try something different and probably will in the near future but just wish it didnt cost almost 14 dollars for a tofu spinach wrap and brown rice.

This health food restaurant, supplement store, herb source of 400+ herbs is really a secret in Houston. Its a great place to relax and enjoy the wholesome experience of friendship, owners and staff that care, natural whole food, etc. You wont be embarrassed if you bring a friend. They will say, What a great place to hang out! I go here at least once a week and send friends who need a good quick source for herbs & supplements.

I loved it, I am a very healthy eater and this place blew me away!! They have lots of gluten free, dairy free and vegetarian options as well as meaty ones. Everything is made in-house with fresh ingredients and the staff is very helpful. The Heath food store attached also has lots a specialty items you would typically see in a whole foods but the prices were a little higher. I arrived around 11:30 and the line was short and our food arrived quickly. As I left however around 12:30 the line was to the door. I cant wait to eat here again and I would definitely recommend it to anyone with dietary needs, or wanting healthier options in dining.

I came in for an early lunch today. It was very complicated to order my smoothie. I asked if they had any plant-based protein to which they said no. Then I saw in another smoothie on the menu that there was sonic protein and they said “it’s not plant-based... it’s made from a bean.” After them asking me to walk across the store to personally check the ingredients of the protein, they also told me they have hemp protein. I don’t think they know what plant-based means which is a little concerning for a health food operation. I ordered “for here” the Tabuleh and avocado sandwich with no cheese and a smoothie. The smoothie was brought to me in a single use plastic cup with lid on it which I thought was very wasteful and unnecessary. The sandwich had very little avocado on it (seemed like less than 1/4) and at about $10, I think was a terrible value. The sandwich was served with basic corn tortilla chips and no salsa, and when I asked for salsa, the only person who was nearby to help me was in the middle of sweeping or something. Again they opted to package the salsa in a single use plastic container and they would not give me the option of just having some in a bowl or something. Also very wasteful was the fully cooked meals on display as you walk in. Some fish and ravioli dish. Super wasteful and for a store that seems to express broke mom & pop shop vibes, they probably would be better served by not intentionally wasting food. Aside from that while sitting and eating my meal nobody ever checked on me or seemed to care that I was there. I used to love this place when I was a kid and always ordered this same meal but it was not nearly as good as it used to be. Super bummed going into a childhood favorite and catching bad vibes. My guess is they have a loyal customer base who is just used to the way things are and don’t mind the excessive pricing and wastefulness. I hope they can change.

First time in over 10 years, I discovered this place. The food is healthy with easy to decide what is veagan. There is also an health food store that is one of a kind. I suggest to stop by for a meal your body appreciates or browse the alternative supplements they have to offer.

You have to try the vegan chilli!! I love it. And the chocolate cupcakes. They were both so good. :D

This one is my favorite restaurant! Because of my work I get to eat at great restaurants like Brennans, Taste of Texas, Flemings, etc. But A Movable Feast is still my favorite. I love healthy food and its the only place I know they use real salt, no msg, no pork and no artificial ingredients ...Wish there were more places like it in Houston.I recommend the spinach enchiladas with the Spanish rice. My grandmother recommends the burgers.

I love this food. There are options for so many different types of diets. Love it there!!!

Good & Healthy Food

I ordered Ancient Grain Plate (kale, chicken peas, sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts, and barley). Healthy flavorful food that satisfies your taste buds and energizes you. Great for a lunch date or a solo recharge lunch.

A unique health food store and restaurant…..I have been going to Moveable Feast for at least 5 years. My favorite is their blueberry pancakes and pecan coffee, although I am also there for lunch sometimes…..best chicken salad, and hummus….yum. Awesome staff, and lots of nostalgia on the walls. A must try for those looking for a healthy meal, and a health food store.

Best place with many organic options. Food is always fresh and the place is kept clean. My family and I go almost every week. The owners are always friendly and attentive which keeps us coming back

Great vegan options. Have vegetarian and wheat free options as well. Nice sized menu with a variety of dishes. Chefs choice is usually pretty great. Inside needs some work, but since they share half the place with their store, I dont see it happening. On that front, lots of health products in stock. Hardly ever over here, but would drop in again.

Kale Salad, Thursdays special was excellent! Their deserts were very good as well. First time but definitely wont be the last.

I really enjoy this place. Great good options for healthy eaters and healthy options for comfort eaters! Delicious and laid back. Great prices.
