My favorite metaphysical shop in Houston. When my formerly favorite shop became not-so-desirable, I didnt think Id find a well-rounded replacement. This place was in sight for months before I actually went in early last year, and Im just realizing that I have not left them a review. They actually care and provide warm customer service. Feels positive. Their selection is super diverse and the staff is knowledgeable. I have not tried their paid services but I enjoy shopping here. Good blog too! I especially liked the appointments that they implemented due to C19.

Awesome energy from the moment Ms. Jennifer opened the door. This place has a wide variety of gems, hapi drums as well as several more hidden treasures. Be sure to call ahead for appointment to skip the line of walk up clients that are sure to be there. My family (sister & two nieces) were in the area on a day trip from San Antonio and well definitely be back.

I have been wanting to visit since before 2021 and Im glad I did. I really love the COVID protections that they have enforced and that customers and staff a like follow them and are very respectful of each other.The amount of crystals they have are amazing and they have a gem checklist/guide for chakras. It was a very peaceful environment as someone was randomly playing singing bowls while my purchase was given a sound bath cleansing.The energy was great and not one time did I feel weird or off. I will definitely be back.

Do not go here without knowing what you want because it can be overwhelming. Prices go from cheap to whoa! There is a very good selection of crystals and they even have Tarot and Oracle decks.

I started going to this establishment after finding it on a google search. I lost my entire collection to Hurricane Ike so starting over was going to be exhausting and I was skeptical. However, from the moment I walked in everything was in perfect alignment from the staff all the way down to the store and the way the products are handled. It’s year three and I’m still coming back if not to buy anything then just to pick up the high vibrations from the store alone. (Who am I kidding, a crystal is always pulling me towards it and I never leave empty handed) lol

My friend and I absolutely love this place, the vibes are immaculate and the people who enter and work there make sure the environment is as welcoming and as friendly as possible. It’s so easy to stay in there for a few hours trying to understand and breathe everything in. They also cleanse your crystals before you leave so your energy is the only one that’s been surrounding it! Super nice

It should be renamed Body, Mind, and Fear. It lost its spirit and soul last year. Its employees have a 99.9% recovery rate. And you would think that people who work at a spiritual store would take care of themselves....But they have remained the most fearful place in town since 2020.Go to 3rd Ward (to Our Little Red One Shop) and enjoy a metaphysical shop with soul, faith, and a beautiful spirit. Youll find a world of difference.

Beyond frustrated that a beautiful shop like this is jumping onto the “mask-up” bandwagon! I have spent tons of money with them over the years, and I have to say regretfully …I won’t be back. As a person who values freedom, individual liberty, and personal sovereignty I simply can not align with this mindset.

The selection of crystals is beautiful, but I apparently spent ten minutes looking at the cheaper small crystals section and got told by an employee “I hate to be rude but this isn’t the only section just like be done” and it was kind of uncalled for. If they needed me to get out of their way they could’ve just said it instead of making me feel stupid for trying to decide between a few tumbled stones. This was my favorite crystal shop for a few months but I am never coming back here after that experience.

This store is clean, open + well organized, and super calming. I went in with a bit of stress and anxiety and can honestly say I walked out feeling so much better. I spent some time walking around and picking out things. It was my first time there and they even gave a free gift. Everything in the picture was from $1-$3, but there are also larger pieces around the store that are beautiful but more expensive. Im sure Ill come back to buy more ☺️

Im a little late writing this review but I just wanted to share and Thank you guys for our wonderful first time experience there! It was like being in crystal heaven lol but what really sold me was the hospitality and the great customer service! I wish I could remember the cashiers name so I can thank her again but sadly I forgot! Upon checking out, my six year old son and I were offered a free crystal which I thought was very nice. My twelve year old seemed a bit left out so I asked if I could just purchase one so he would feel included but the cashier understood and told him he can have one as well. His face lit up and as a mother that warmed my heart but you have no idea how that kind small gesture made his whole day!! They both could not stop talking about the store and showing everyone their cool free crystal from the nice lady lol Thank you guys again and we will definitely be back soon!!

I enjoy shopping at this location & seeing the variety selection of Natural rocks and stones in jewelry and unique pieces. I decided to buy some Positive energy and balance rocks for everyday stress. After my check out with Ginger..I walked away with negative vibes. I think she needs to use the wand on herself!

The atmosphere is unbelievable the WHOLE entire time I was there I was feeling shifts in spirit soft electricity racing through me I had the chills. The clerks was very helpful there, very knowledgeable super polite. The conversation was phenomenal I learned alot 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿. I will most definitely be returning in the near future.

I usually really enjoy the energy in this place but today I was checked out by Ginger and she’s not a nice person at all. I would recommend this shop but wouldn’t recommend encountering Ginger.

This place has a very wide variety of gems and a good selection of incense and smudges. Frankly, if it had herbs, I think it could be my one-stop shop. I’ve always seen a diverse array of employees and customers there- it really seems to me that all people are truly welcome, which is more than I can say for other well-known Houston/Galveston area metaphysical shops. I recommend it to everyone.

Modern Tribe met all my expectations and more. I love books. I love reading rare books about the history, struggles and triumphs of People of Afrikan descent. You can find strength in community. Modern Tribe is the place where many become one.

I simply love this place. It has everything I need all in one place. From Crystals, books for readings, candles, body sprays, and more. And they also make sure that they clear your Crystals when you check out!! I recommend this place to all of my friends and family about this place. Were from Chicago and I havent seen a store so well stocked with everything you need. My daughter hates shopping but kept me waiting for 2 hours just shopping.

I was very excited to visit the store once again after years of not going. Unfortunately when I asked if a certain product was in stock I was told that what I see is what they have, which is totally understandable, but it was told to me in a very uncaring demeanor. I kept looking for something else to buy but when I looked up the same young lady was staring at me. After that I didnt want to be there anymore so I gathered my stuff and paid. It wouldve been nice if she had offered to help me or offered a good alternative. At the end she charged my gems but if anything I say she just brought me bad vibes.

Beautiful store, beautiful souls, beautiful atmosphere. - I absolutely love this place.

*Edit to address the store*Im sorry, but your response makes no sense as my son and I were the only ones that you were interrupting in mid-shopping to ask if we wanted to check out, while every else was able to shop at their leisure? My son said the saleswoman asked him AT LEAST FIVE TIMES if he was ready to leave. If you planned on closing early then why not say that instead of being passive aggressive to specific demographics of shoppers?I spent over $300 only for the sales clerk to follow my son and I around the store and ask if were ready to check out about a dozen times.Cool store, but beware if you were darker hue than everyone else, youll probably receive the same treatment.Ill stick to New Age Avenue moving forward. Better selection and friendlier service.

This store is wonderful so many beautiful stones & crystals. They also carry books, soaps, lotions, clothing, baskets,gifts, incense, classes etc. The staff are stellar well informed & delightful. Please stop what you are doing and visit. I will be going back forever. ❤❤

I spent atleast $440 there today and the workers were really nice and caring! they helped me find prices for stuff, and they even sound cleansed all the things afterwards! i had 2 separate bags of crystals and the staff opened one bag at a time and didnt mix anything! i entered the store feeling neutral and left feeling so positive. 10/10, would go back and i recommend!!

We went for the first time last week and enjoyed the visit. My son was looking for positive energy stones and cleansing smudges. Staff were polite and helpful with instructions on how to use smudge. We will definitely be back.

Pretty cool store with lots of different crystals and other notable items. However, I was gifted two bracelets and went back to get several more only for half of them to break after one or two wears with the beads bouncing and rolling all over the place because they’re strung together with thin cords that can barely stretch past your hands without breaking. So I’m left with fancy beads all over the floor and over $100 down the drain lol

I loved this place! My first time coming in ANY crystal shop and the workers were super sweet to me and my daughter. They even have childrens books (which I definitely bought lol). My 3 year old daughter loved it soo much she meditated as soon as we got home and wants to go back for more crystals. I promised wed come back tomorrow lol! So you guys will definitely see me again! They are very generous with their information. Prices are modest. There were more people inside than I expected. I made an appointment but I don’t think it’s really necessary. They did keep the doors locked. They gave each of us Jasper stone & Palo Santo Stick for free at check out. They were short to bag everything separate just as I asked. I definitely recommend doing your homework before you go in. Look up the stones and see what you need first. We are certainly going back.

This place has a great selection of gems, and fossils. The people that work there are knowledgeable, and very friendly. Its 45 min. away, but worth the drive.

NEW EMPLOYEES. This place is now like a high school metaphysical fair. The employees are all under the age of 21. When I brought the crystals up to the register and told her what they. We’re she rudely told me, she ALREADY KNOWS. I miss when the owner and her friends use to work there. I’m a 30 year mom one, Reki Master,Crystal Healer and a Psychic Clairsentient. With my own healing business, I’ve had for 3 years. And I don’t appreciate being disrespected. I’ve been coming here since 2017. And I’m never coming back. Rather shop online. Great place, but the attitudes gotta go..

The first metaphysics store Ive been to since moving back to Houston. Very polished, clean store with some many eye popping stones and books to nab. (Higher prices from other places Ive been, tho it was outside of Tx) Im currently enjoying these items...

Since theyre new renovations they place is GORGEOUS! Soo many options, and the staff are extremely knowledgeable of all theyre products and store. They even cleanse your crystals at point of sale! Would definitely give more than 5 stars if possible

This is my favorite store for metaphysical and spiritual tools for my toolbox. They have a very extensive crystal collection, which is my kryptonite, since Im unable to withstand leaving the store without purchasing at least one.

Giving one of my favorite stores 3 stars is not usual for me ..with respect to covid and all the challenges we face..and individual establishments still having to make hard decisions I was very disappointed with having to still line up outside the store to get in, only to let a few customers in at a time .its not may 2019 .I have not had to line up to get into anywhere since ALL businesses have reopened. Once I got inside I felt the customer service has changed not for the better and I will only return once I do not have to stand in line or it is a dryer necessity. .Am very sorry BMS please return to the old you. I traveled to Houston for work back in September of 2020. I came across this store by fait honestly. I’m a sucker for a good metabolic store and booooy was I in for a surprise! I was greeted with a warm welcoming nonetheless. Upon entrance you get this intense smell of Palo Santo in the air, and golly does it smell amazing! The store had an array of different crystals, pendants, sage, sprays, and anything you could think of that’s healing for ones body. They’re very attentive when it comes to asking a question. Loved it! I bought an amethyst pendant with a garnet stone and it was and still is a beauty and one of my favorite pendants to wear. There’s just so much more things I can say but then I’d be writing a novel lol. When it comes time to checkout you’re asking how did you like your shopping experience. 1000/10 for me baby, I absolutely fell head over heals for this store. Then a little chime gets played for your items purchased and it has a sweet little melody..Good vibes only! I traveled from Los Angeles, CA to Houston for work and man..this store was worth it all. I went back on several occasions before I came back home. I can’t wait to go back soon! ❤️

Beautiful place. I have gotten a few crystals and statues from here. The costumer service is great. They always clean the items you purchase. The crystals they sell here are mesmerizing. Also they sell a lot of oracle and tarot cards, statues, art, books, and musical instruments. Anything spiritual you can think of. They have everything you might need for your body mind and soul.

There is so much to see, smell, read, learn and enjoy here. Lovely things to decorate your home or gift to those closest to you. Its a relaxing space with no pressure to buy or move on. Great quality products. Plenty of help was available the Sunday I went in to shop. The shop was very busy. Everyone I encountered was friendly and pleasant. Time can certainly get away from you here. I did find some lovely stones to purchase on this visit.

Very rude staff. The products , especially the sage and crystals are overpriced. The short white woman that was letting people into the store was deliberately rude to me. The woman ignored me on purpose and gestured to the women standing in line that they could enter the store. I drove 45 minutes to the store to spend my money and thats how I was treated after waiting outside in the chilly weather for more than 25 minutes. I was wearing a bright red sweat suit , I had rope dreads and I was sitting at the light post right in front of her. She deliberately ignored me and tryed to encourage me to leave. I still spent $22 for the overpriced sage and incense because of my long drive to the store and the high quality of the product I decide to purchase. It was 1/14/21 Thursday on a chilly afternoon. The good thing about the store is the fact that they take the Coronavirus serious and take measures to minimize overcrowding in the store. The staff overall was very rude and once I entered the store never asked me if I needed any assistance. I feel like they practice micro aggression towards perceived minorities . I WOULD NOT recommend this store on the staffs behavior alone. The product selection is limited and overpriced as well. I will be going back to Magick Cauldron. At least they have a nice selection with more reasonable prices. And they just ignore me. Theyre not proactively rude like the staff was at B.M.S.NOTE : You can make an appointment ahead of time to minimize the potential wait outside.I still wouldnt recommend this location , especially to anyone that may be perceived as a Minority .Micro-aggresion is practiced at this location.

Hello!! i just visited this store today:) i love the vibes here and the people working are so sweet! i purchased a black tourmaline but when i opened my crystals it wasn’t in there but i’m sure that was my fault hahah, i kept asking the worker can he remove certain things to fit within my budget. i decided to not go back because i’m sure maybe the stone just isn’t for me at this time, and i know it was a mistake! i loved this store it’s my new fav

Today February 22, 2019I was very excited to visit mind,body and soul. My daughter has purchased 180.00 worth of stones. So I decided to go pick out some stones of my own. My daughter and I started to shop. This old white guy came up. The first thing he said they had and event getting ready to start. That was the first time the second time he said if we can hurry up and check out the would be great. The problem I have is not one time did he ask if we need any help. The other problem was he only said this to me and my daughter. One other thing there was a cop watching us the whole time. Never going back. I cant change the akin Im in..

This shop has probably been the best I’ve been to. Which says a lot considering I travel the country for work, often stopping in metaphysical / crystal shops. Very clean, organized, light, and calming. The book selection was massive, with a product range so wide you could find anything. Staff was super friendly and knowledgeable as well!

Great place to get your spiritual vibe on! Wonderful granite rock sculptures and plenty of them. They seem to have something for everyone, jewelry, various stones that are beautiful and have good energies. With every purchase they tap a sound board (there is a specific name for it- I forgot) to give it good energy, staff is very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended!!!!!
