Perhaps the coolest shop Ive ever been to. Gadgets and gizmos galore, along with cheap electrical components and retro/antique tech. Incredibly, the owner remembered who I was after speaking to him once and returning a month later. Nowhere else like it!

This place is full of brick-a-brack. I imagine the owner spent a lifetime collecting all of it. Is this kind of place where my ham radio gear is going when I die?Unfortunately, the staff member I talked to didnt know what a mix 31 RF choke was. He was polite and after asking a coworker he showed me a small RF choke but didnt know if it was mix 31. He indicated an aisle of holding bins and said there could be more chokes in that area. After browsing for 15 minutes and finding nothing I left.Come here if you need individual electronic components for your project or if you want to find older test equipment. They also have plenty of potential projects like console radios and TVs that need repair. Definitely a cool place.

This is my absolute favorite store in Houston. Not only is it one of the only stores to carry microelectronics parts these days, they also have a massive collection of more obscure electronics available.Highly recommend budgeting at least an hour of your time for visiting the store as its really easy to lose track of time just walking the aisles and looking at everything they have to offer.

This place is pure heaven for the electronics hobbyist. There is something unique or nostalgic every time I visit. In addition to your standard electronic components and HAM radio equipment, they buy hard to find and surplus items and sell them at reasonable price. One time there was a life sized R2D2, another time it was a vintage record player. This time it was a pram! This is a great place to find disco lighting, power supplies, signal measuring instruments and tools as well. Its worth your time to stop in and peruse!

THEY HAVE IT!! If it has anything to do with electronics it is probably here at EPO. From old school radios, parts, pieces, tools, soldering tools and supplies, hdmi cables, connectors, disconnects, surveillance cameras, wires, pieces parts. Robotic equipment etc. What a fun place to shop and buy what you need and items you did not even know you were looking for. Good prices and a super friendly and helpful staff. Come in and have fun. There is definitely something here for everyone.

This is a magical place. My father had the time of his life checking out and buying all sorts of electronics. This place is really incredible. A must for any electronics enthusiast.

Very cool store. These store is one of the last of the cool places to stop with personality and a vast array of DYI components for any electrical project you have in mind. They are always helpful and are reaching out to the community through various events and putting on classes. This is a awesome place to support and you will always find helpful people to guide you through your projects.They recently put on a robot battle outside the store, it was really neat seeing the builders battle there bots till the death.

This is a wonderful, one-of-a-kind shop. However, their rates are ridiculous.I believe this is a store disguised as a hoarding issue.

Just about the coolest store in houston... Bass pro got nothing on this place... (From an electrical engineers perspective)..... Think RadioShack but on steroids where the people who work there actually know what they sell.

Customer service is lacking and they do not carry the parts I am looking for. Asked for a black wire similar to what I brought in to compare it to and the EPO rep. gave me half of a red and black speaker wire. Asked for 5 wires similar to a small wire I brought in and he didnt cut it to the length I asked and it was another double wire that was not totally black and needed to be split. It also had white lines in it. I asked for black wires only. He also couldnt be bothered to show me exactly where the connectors were that I asked for. He just pointed down the aisle and went back to what he was doing.So much stuff in a very cramped space, with poor service and does not carry any updated proper power connectors. How am I supposed to support this local business if the service and inventory is need of proper management?

This really is a gem in Houston. I always shop here first before going to a big box store. Independently run and operated with items you will not find ANYWHERE ELSE. I love EPO

Last month I bought 16 core GYXTW fiber optic cable that is approximate 4km from Electronic Parts Outlet. It is useful to me. This is helpful and faster in the transmission of the Internet faster than basic cable.

Is amazing the little tiny electronic components that they have. The staff is extremely helpful and will go beyond a simple help is asked, they will open things up to find the right component that you need. I took a halogen multi lights and was not simple to fix but directed me to an expert to fix it, yet they found that the little transformer was good, I just had to buy all the bulbs that were not cheap but when I got it working my daughter was in love with it and took this with her for her college dorm. The staff is so caring for their customers, that once you come in their doors you will be a always repeat customer!Love this place!

Excellent Service & Wise Electronic Staff who can recommend equipment or service several types of gadgets that require a pro. Today they were able to provide our company Sonic Skin Care Houston emergency adapters and transformers for a 220 volt British plug to a US 110 plug with 100% success for under a $80. We went to Home Depot called several electricians who said only Amazon can help Thank you Electronics Parts Outlet your expertise saved us from having to cancel 10 laser skin tag removal patients.

I was able to test some tubes for a guitar amplifier Im building! Didnt think I could find one of those testing machines anywhere, but EPO had one and an experienced person to test them for me. They have tons of electronic parts there. Its like an old Radio Shack!

Amazing place

Guy behind the register wears his mask without covering his nose, both protecting nobody and wasting a mask.

They have lots of cool stuff and things you can build and make things with, but if youre looking for a specific part you probably wont find it unless its pretty common.

They literally have everything you need, you just have to spend some time looking through the hundreds of awesome filled parts bins. If you cant find it then youre probably not looking hard enough

I was excited to go to the store because I wanted to star a new project at home and maybe discover new activity kits to share with my nephew like the ones I did when I was young. The store at first glance was overcrowded with different items, not only electronic parts making it hard to look for items or find the aisle where they might be. There were about 3 to 4 employees I think but nobody greeted me or offered help. I approached an employee but he reluctantly pointed towards the section where the item I was looking for. I tried to ask more about my project but I felt that the employee was not interested in helping me as I might not be as knowledgeable as them. I was quickly checked out leaving me unfulfilled with my choices and wondering what else I could of buy since I didnt find the activity kits or got the help that I needed. Maybe the store is good just for experts in electronics and not for the beginner or average person.

I purchased cctv cameras. They have variety of different electronic parts. If youre someone who can fix electrical appliances etc , this is the place where you can buy spares. You may want to call them first to check if your part is available. 😎

I would have spent hours in that store but I only had a few minutes to look around. Awesome is the only word I can use to describe EPO.

Some parts available and some parts not , and there some parts hard to find , but best is alway call or checks , but it better than all other electronic stores , most are cheap than other store if you buy in individual or in volumes

Wonderful and obscure items. I was there with my daughter and wife, otherwise I could have spent two or more hours there. Going back tomorrow to make some bigger purchases... wide selection of not only components but quality used test equipment tested on the spot by a very knowledgeable employee. If you are a child of the 80s or earlier, you will appreciate what you see. Vacuum tubes in stock and a tester to verify them in place! I grew up dissecting 60s and 70s era radios and TVs, and this is the place I wish was closer to home!

A truly amazing place! Staff were all incredibly helpful. Not only did an employee offer to test a bunch of vacuum tubes from an old stereo (about 12 tubes), but I was also able to find replacements for the blown ones. Prices were very fair. I picked up some other hard to find items that I’d been looking for, like a set of Austin Powers teeth and some fake vomit. Even the coffee was actually really good!I’ll be back soon! Negative , horrible service . I had a list of items that I needed and i am not familiar with these components. I couldn’t get anybody to help me. Like I was bothering them. All I was doing was trying to spend some $. Next time I will order online n wait for the slow boat from China. And I still ended up spending $76

This is the spiritual successor to the greatest toy store you can imagine as a kid. Its a safe bet that you will find what youre looking for and more. If you cant find it here, they can at least lead you in the right direction.

A paradise for electronics hobbyists, EPO has everything from the ordinary to the eclectic.Staff are friendly and very knowledgeable and prices are great.Often when they dont have something in stock they have been able to custom order it for me.

Absolutely fantastic service. Alicia was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to help me crimp and pin a connection in my car. She showed me how to do it correctly and even went as far as to pin the connector in the parking lot for me.

Weve been hunting down a resistor that broke off of a terminal block on a system Im working on. Part is obsolete from the manufacturer. Long story short he tested resistor and it read good. Told me he can sell me a new one but didnt need to, that we could just repair the one we had. I tried to spend money here but no matter what issue it was he had the solution. Recommend them 100% for anything electronic!

This store is geek heaven! I only had a few minutes to get a (quick connect/disconnect) that I need for a project. Ive read in other reviews that theres tons of interesting things here aside from all the electrical components; and its true. I tried really hard to keep my blinders on and focus on just getting what I needed and getting out, which the staff was very helpful in guiding me exactly to the area I could find the choices of all the variants of the part I was seeking. But I didnt make it out without seeing something random and awesome so I made an additional spontaneous purchase that I do not regret. I cant wait until I have more spare time to actually browse every isle of this shop. I felt like a kid in a candy store. If you like building electronics, or if you like interesting gadgets and gizmos you will become a fan of this place.

EPO is a great place to get electronic components for projects at bench-work level. Youll find kits for hobbyists and enthusiasts, used parts and sub-components/assemblies, antique devices for collectors or those looking for a nostalgic touch to incorporate into their projects.

Place is packed with electronics gear. Staff is friendly and helpful. They didnt carry the specific product that I was looking for, though. Their inventory may be too specialized.

They have great stuff at good prices and the staff is quite helpful. The only thing that makes me a little sad is that Ive sometimes wanted things they dont stock that you are forced to get on eBay.
