I have a vintage fan I was trying to restore as gift. I figured easy no problem. I immediately ruined the motor. I found Pro Star and decided to check them out. I walked in and met Ralph. I just wanted to share my experience with the team at Pro Star, especially Ralph. I also have a vintage motor out of an old piece of equipment I am restoring and after I pulled it apart to clean it, it stopped working 😕. I took it to Pro Star to have them look at it. Ralph tested it and yes they could repair it, but then he was honest with me and said that the labor alone would run up the repair costs (lots of small windings) to more than 2X what the equipment would be worth running. He then said if I wanted to rewind it myself they would help by figuring out all the information I would need to do it and if I had any problems or questions to call them! I’m amazed and delighted to find a place so honest and helpful! If I ever or anyone I know needs electric motor work done again there is only one place to go, and be sure to ask for Ralph.

Update: Had a gearbox fail on our mash mixer last Wednesday at Saint Arnold Brewing Co. Ripped it out and had it at Ralphs shop the same day. Got it back Saturday morning. Installed it Sunday morning. Runs and sounds great. Thanks Ralph for keeping our production flowing when we get in a bind!Once again Ralph has gotten me out of a pinch. Had a pump with mechanical seal problem that ruined the shaft bearings. Got it to his shop and in about two hours we had it fixed and ready to put back online. We also use Pro Star for all of our electric motor problems. They have the best turn around time out there.

Took in two pool pump motors that were not running. After inspection Ralph informed me of the issues and options. It was better to purchase new ones instead of repairing. Ralph did not charge for his services. He is extremely honest and recommended!!!

Ralph saw my AC fan motor, diagnosed the issue. Oiled it, twisted it, danced a special motor dance and Voila! It is fixed in 5. AND no charge. A sweet man saved me a new split AC. God Bless Ralph.

Ralph is amazing! I emailed him on a Saturday morning at 6:07 am and received a response from him at 6:20 am. I described the problem I was having with a just-rebuilt dc motor (by another company) on one of my elevators and he confidently said he would get me going. Well, Monday morning (two days later) comes around and within 30 minutes he had the root problem figured out and fixed! He deserves 10 stars out of 5! My elevator contractor was there to witness everything and I suspect Ralph will be getting a lot of calls for elevator motor help in the future. GREAT JOB!
