Great products, terrible service. Ive met algae with more brain cells than Mark.Due to being robbed, I was going to rent a camera and a lens, as Im in between devices. I didnt see the fine print about the deposit--my bad on my end. I will say though, you shouldnt even allow transactions to go through without requiring the deposit to be paid.So, long story short, I requested a refund. Mark told me it would only take one business day for my refund to go through. This was Monday, and it is now Wednesday.The suuuuper nice /sarcasm/ gentleman that I talked to on the phone a few minutes ago told me that it would actually take 2-3 business days for my refund to go through. He also informed me that if I wanted the money quicker, I would have to go through my bank.Im not sure who I talked to, but he was apathetic at best.Im not ever, ever Im Karen mode—just, have some higher regard for your customers and their money.

Ive rented from PRS twice now, and Ive had nothing short of a great experience! Their staff is super friendly, and they even delivered a lens to me early to avoid potential shipping delays with the upcoming 4th of July holiday. This alone shows how much they care about their customers :D

I have been using Photo Rental Source since they were in there original location...like ten or more years ago.Great service, great gear, I have never had any issue with them. Just rented their Canon 14mm 2.8L. They have some of the best Pro gear and then some. I am sure I will be back and use them again.

Absolutely focused on their customers needs. I flew in from out of town for a client. I needed a lot of lighting gear and really didnt have a lot of time to spare if something was working or something broke. In anticipation of my needs Matthew tested everything before I got there and also ensured I have a spare flash tube and triggers. I have rented gear from many outfits in the past. Its very easy for me to say Photo Rental Source is one of the top groups Ive worked with.

I walked in to this establishment thinking that I knew exactly what I was looking for. I was going on a trip to Jamaica and wanted a camera that was small, easy to use, and good quality for photos and videos. After talking to the friendly employees, they notified me that the camera I was renting was good, but may not be EXACTLY what I was expecting. They suggested a better camera that ended up having a larger memory card, added a wipe to clean the camera, and explained all of the different features that would be beneficial to a customer like me. The thing I loved the most is that I felt like the staff truly cared about my expectations aside from making a sale. The camera that I would’ve gotten was actually more expensive than the camera I ended up renting and that speaks volumes when it comes to true customer service. I will be recommending this company to everyone I know and can’t wait to rent from them again!

Great place to rent equipment. I accidentally deleted some photos from a CF card and Matt Skinner told me a download that could help me recover the photos. He also said if I had issues to come back and see him. Well I did and I went back to him and Matt was able to recover my deleted photos. Thank you so very much! You are AWESOME!

I never write reviews but this place is just awesome! I have 2 twin girls and they actually came downstairs to grab my returns so i wouldn’t have to wake the babies. They also helped me to my car when i rented from them. No problems and everything went smoothly. I was even a few minutes past 6 on returning stuff and they were fine with it. Great place!!

They have just been amazing. I have used them multiple times at the last minute for some video shoots and they have always been so accommodating even when I only need some of the equipment for a couple hours at most. The rode mic has been my best experience so far. Sound is really hard to get right but I seriously have had no worries after now using this mic twice from them. Thanks guys, you rock. Great place to get quality photograph equipment when youre in a bind or have a particular need for something you dont usually use!For new photographers who dont have access to expensive accessories the rates are fair and the return process is so easy. Finding the office in the building can be a little tricky. Its in the South end of the building upstairs to the right as you exit the elevator.

They might basically be the only photography equipment rental place in the greater Houston area but they are great. they are a good bunch and helpful.Ive never had a poor experience with the company or their employees, be mindful if you are a first time customer you will be asked to leave a deposit if you use card.After the first rental they no longer require a deposit.Great selection of lenses.But during popular times of the year for photography they might have limited stock.

I have rented from them over a dozen times and it has always worked out great! The only thing I would mention is that parking at the office building is insane! Overall it is awesome that a place like this is right here and we can save on shipping. The other thing is that when you rent a lens, you need to calibrate your camera to the lens, if the images are not coming crisp and sharp.

I almost hate giving them a five star review because everyone will start using them--and may get the equipment I want to rent. But these guys are great. I have rented two lenses from them. The initial set up process was very easy. The lens was ready on time for pick up and packed very well. When the rental period was about to end, they called to check if I needed to return it or keep it longer--no pressure either way. The return process was easy--even received an immediate email confirming the return and no issues. I will definitely use them again--and, selfishly, I hope nobody else does. Pretty much the only option in Houston for renting photography gear. Used them twice - one before heading to Maine to capture Fall colors and the other when heading to the Death Valley. Very useful option when in need of super wide or telephoto lenses that are seldom used otherwise.

Ive rented from here several times and will continue to do so until I either die or own every single lens I could want (ha).The guys (I only ever see dudes here) who I interact with when I make a pickup are great. As a woman in this field, dealing with men who know a lot about the tech can be intimidating, even when I know a lot myself. But I have not once felt inadequate or dumb while talking to them. They are genuinely nice people.The prices for rentals are super reasonable and I love the location. Pick up and return is a painless process and the gear is always in great shape.Pro-tip: Dont place your order in the parking lot and walk in expecting it to be ready. These guys are good and fast, but thats just rude.

These guys are so reliable, the gear is always in excellent condition, and they are easily some of the nicest people youll meet. They have good policies, dont abuse their gear. Ive been using them for almost 10 yrs. Its so much more convenient if you are a Houston photographer than renting from a mail service. Ive tried them all. They dont carry exotic stuff, mostly Canon and Nikon... but they have been expanding.

I wanted to try out a camera and some lenses before I made a major purchase of a new camera system. Their website was really easy to use (make online reservation before showing up). The staff was friendly and they even helped carry some boxes down to my car. I had inadvertently rented a lens for a cropped sensor camera instead of full frame, and they pointed it out to me and switched it out. It was completely my fault, and they could have left me to deal with it over the weekend, but they took the time to make sure everything worked. I will definitely rent from them again.

These guys are really fast and friendly! You place your order, walk in, sign that you are picking up your order and BANG! Out the door. The process doesnt take longer than 2 minutes. Items are really nice and clean. Prices are cheaper than other places as well. This is the place to rent camera gear if you are in the Houston area.

Since December, I have visited Photo Rental Source every other month. They are absolutely a necessity for any photographer. These past few months, I have rented extreme telephoto lens. This really; I dont need to spend and extreme amount of cash in purchasing a $2,000 lens. I can rent it for two days, complete my project, and return it the next day, and I spent less the $60 bucks. This week, I had the worst day in my life. Due to unforseen events, my entire photography collect was not accessible. I was able to rent a camera, 50mm 1.4 lens, and Pocket Wizard syncs. I was able to quickly get the gear I needed and i didnt have to cancel on my clients. Thank you so much for being located in Houston be being so dedicated to the Houston photography community.

When I was in a time crunch and needed a light source for a video production shoot, Photo Rental Source came to my rescue. It is a bit difficult to find the place as its on the 3rd floor of an office building. There is visitor parking, but if its full, there is also a parking garage. Upon entering, you will find iPads and Computers around where you can go to their website and see what equipment they have available. So, technically, you could do this at home or on your phone before even coming in, which is a timesaver.Luckily, they had a light that I needed, and I paid around $40 for a weeks use. It was quick, easy, and the service was friendly. They have all sorts of equipment including cameras and lenses as well. If I ever need equipment for a gig and not looking to own it, Photo Rental Source will be my go-to place from now on. I cannot recommend this place enough. I had a trip planned for Utah a couple months back and my camera lens I was going to use for astrophotography (Milky Way) all of a sudden stopped functioning. Less than a week before I was set to leave I call PRS and they had the perfect lens in stock, a Tokina 11-18mm f/2.8 lens. Upon pickup the lens was very clean and appeared in excellent condition. Pictures came out better than expected and the lens performed flawlessly.The prices are very very reasonable, actually better than any other place I researched and the staff is extremely helpful and courteous.I will be using them again and recommending to all of my friends.
