Been coming here for years, this is the last time they will ever see me or any of my families boats. Their arrogance and attitude is the worst Ive ever had to deal with. Had my boat in for repairs, got it back took it out one time and the exact same problem happened again. They told me that I dont know how to use my boat. Ive been around boat all my life and have a captains license since 95. They made me pay again for the exact same repair. They dont care about customer service

Do yourself a favor and heed the warnings of past reviews. Too expensive and no customer service. Take pics of your boat and motor b4 u take it in. Ask about cost of them looking at it, because there is one. Most other shops have sign posted. Mine came back with broken skeg, theyre first reaction was obviously not their doing. Though they did say bring it in and if they felt like it was them they smooth it out.Well I wont bother with their over 40 years of service as they say, not if its going to be ur lucky were trying to help attitude. There are other shops that appreciate your business.

These folks are the best!! Don’t believe anything you read that is negative about this place! It is the ONLY boat shop that I will take my boat too!Have you ever been to a restaurant and used the bathroom in the back and found out that the Kitchen looks like Sh!t? That’s a great indication of how they run their business. Now ask Stone and sons to use their bathroom! What you will see is every part that is known to be in a boat is categorized on shelves. You will be amazed! This is why they are so good as they never have to “wait” for a boat part to come in to finish the repair on your boat!My boat had many issues as it has been in storage for 6 years. The boat was up and running in 3 days. And the price was a VERY fair price which led to a very healthy tip to the Mechanic! This is family owned and run. You will not be disappointed!

I took my newly acquired used inboard boat directly to Stone & Sons for an overall bow-to-stern inspection and engine tune up. When making an appointment the guy on the phone said to bring it in and they would look at it the following day. It took 2+ weeks for them to even look at the boat and over 3 weeks to get it back.During this inspection the fuel pump was found to be faulty and needed to be replaced. Other than that the boat had no issues and ran fine after an injector cleaning and engine tune up according to Stone & Sons. They deemed the boat mechanically sound and ready for the water. After putting this boat in the water for the first time, it took on A LOT of water and the steering was so stiff there was clearly a problem. They had supposedly checked all the seals for leaks, etc yet it was taking on roughly a gallon every 5 mins. After asking the technician about the steering he admitted to not even checking it.After addressing the leak with another shop and replacing the steering cable (easy fix that should have absolutely been caught during a bow-to-stern inspection), now the engine will not start or run. Not exactly the performance you expect out of a newly tuned up engine. All in all I spent roughly $2000 to have my boat sit in their yard for 3 weeks and my impeller replaced. Would not recommend this shop to anyone, do yourself a favor and take your boat to a reputable shop.

Bought a boat thinking I was getting a great deal. Turned out the engine had a lot of problems. Joe went above and beyond to get the boat back into great condition. Really pleased with their work and would certainly recommend them and will be back for service in the future.

Best shop in town, particularly for older boats, mine a 90 Bayliner trophy. Had a new motor put in, they warrantied everything and followed up with a fuel delivery issue. Good mechanic and very straight forward, with quick turnaround.Follow up- after 7 months no issues with the boat, anytime I have a question I text Joe- he always replies with helpful feedback. These guys are awesome.

August 22, 2013I came in this morning with a Johnson starter. I expected they would have me leave it there and come back in a few days when it is repaired. but, talk about great customer service, they fixed right then and there. I mean super quality service with a good attitude. I HIGHLY recommend Stone & Sons, good prices, good work and prompt care for customers!

Could not have asked for a better experience. Called on Labor Day concerning an issue with my outboard motor and received a call back that day from Jack. Needed the boat back the next weekend for a prior commitment. Jack got my boat in and turned it around in a day. Very reasonable. Highly recommend.

They have in stock Classic New Old Stock (NOS) Evinrude parts that are very hard to find that OMC/ bombardier doesnt make anymore. Parts you cant even find online! At great prices. I was thinking about scrapping this 1973 Evinrude 6 hp fisherman because of obsolete part numbers that the manufacturer no longer makes. I gave Stone and Sons Marine in Houston a call and they had every part sitting on their shelf at a great price. Now that Ole classic is up in running and starts on the first pull. Not to mention that sweet lady who took my call knew her stuff! She had an answer for every question I threw at her. Plus, she is very good at communicating and finding the easiest technological way to find answers for my questions. If you were confused like me on certain things or have questions, just take a picture and send it to her and you will get an immediate response. Just remember to take clear pictures. Also, if you have a question of what a part looks like, she can take a picture and send it to you if they have it in stock, and in my experience they more than likely do. If you have a very technical question they also have a certified mechanic always on staff who is very knowledgeable. I will continue to shop here because customer service always goes beyond anyones expectations. Most satisfied customer,The classic BoatSman

I received a 1950s OMC outboard that was in great shape but needed to be tuned up since it has been sitting for five years. Jack Stones shop was recommended to me by several folks as the premier OMC shop in the area. Their staff was polite and friendly, but after waiting a week for an estimate of the repair cost, I was shocked by their estimate of nearly $2000, just to do routine maintenance and a tune-up. And only if I agreed to this cost and the outboard was actually opened could they tell me if there would be additional costs!I then called other local OMC shops that were also recommended and the highest estimate to do the same work was nearly one fourth the cost!Stone & Sons may be a fantastic repair shop and if you own a museum piece OMC motor they are probably the go to shop, but just be prepared to bring tons of cash if you let them do the work.
