Clear Lake Collision is amazing!!! Weve been there before, and have always been impressed. They are always very friendly, honest, and super knowledgeable. This time I popped in because my front tire assembly was making a strange grinding sound, and Chris was able to help me on the spot! He quickly took it for a test drive, put it on the lift, and realized my axle assembly was defective. He spent a lot of time making phone calls to be sure it was covered under warranty (thankfully it was), kept me updated throughout my wait, went above and beyond to help coordinate a rental car through my warranty company (it was a big job and would take some time to receive and replace the parts), and got it fixed within 2 days!! Superior customer service, and a great experience!! They even have snacks and coffee available in their lobby. Thank yall so much for everything!! Im super grateful!! :)

In Feb 2020 I purchased a 2014 Ram Pro Master Cargo Van knowing it would need some work. Thats on me. The battery light, and brake light were on and the fuel pump was always running. Even when the van was off. I took it to Chris. The short version is I dont feel like Chris was looking out for me.He replaced the Fuel Pump, Alternator, Brake Pads, Rotors, and a few other things and collected $3,501.88. Things seemed to be OK then Covid hit and the van was parked most of the time. Oct 2020, 800 miles later the dash starts doing some odd things intermittently. Cab blower motor on full blast when off, dash lights out, blinkers not working, windows not working. I took it to Chris. He advised me a motor mount was broken and that the motor would need to be replaced at over $4,000 plus labor $$$. I asked him why he didnt catch this the first time he said things happen, you bought a lemon. I took it to another mechanic who replaced the electronic control module and the alternator again. All seemed OK again but Id had enough. I took it to a dealer to sell it. He pointed out that the transmission mount needed to be replaced. Also that when you turn the key to the first position all the dash lights should come on. The battery light, and check engine light was blacked out and did not come on (red flag). Best I can say is that Chris was not looking out for me.

I had 2 of my vehicles serviced over the past month and a half. One was my work van for a check engine light (EVAP system) and a/c not cooling properly. They worked with my extended warranty coverage to get everything taken care of. Also had regular maintenance issues performed I was concerned with. They did breaks, spark plugs, oil change, filters and tire rotation. Very happy with the response to questions and inquiries of what was going on with the repairs.I just got back my GMC Sierra back that I was having transmission issue and front suspension problems (a lot of squeaking, creaking and occasional popping sounds). Unfortunately I received the information I was expecting but no one ever wants to hear, my transmission was shot. After a replacement and repairs to the suspension; control arms ball joints and alignment, my truck is driving as good as when I first got it.I have not had a vehicle in a shop for major repairs in a long time. I think anyone can relate that not having your vehicle is inconvenient and you want it back as fast as possible. Even though I wish I had them back quicker, I am completely satisfied that Chris would not let me take delivery until he was 100% sure that my issues were taken care of.I will definitely be returning for future work on my vehicles and would not hesitate to recommend the service and professionalism I received working with Chris, Michelle and the rest of the Clear Lake Collision crew.

Cannot recommend them enough, every step of the way Chris was incredibly helpful. He frequently called to keep me up to date on everything, and when my warranty company was being difficult they went out of the way to ensure I had a rental car to use while they were still working on my car. The long search for an honest and reliable mechanic is over.

I can’t speak highly enough of this business. I originally went to Clear Lake Collision and Auto for an estimate for body work on my bumper following a rear tire blowout. On my way to the shop, I got rear-ended which complicated matters. The team advised me on what needed to be done and handled working with the insurance companies involved. They were extremely professional and helpful throughout the entire process providing me with phone updates and a loaner car until I was able to get a rental car covered by insurance. The body work itself was excellent as well and done in a very timely matter. Overall truly outstanding service. I went in for an estimate and realized soon after a consultation with Chris that it was best that the insurance handle the damage I had done to my vehicle impacting the fender and bumper on my Lexus. He was straightforward and honest and gave an accurate breakdown of why he figured there could be more damage than what we could see on the surface. No hidden surprises. Knowing that I had no rental coverage, he promised to prioritize my vehicle and get me in my vehicle as fast as possible without compromising the quality of their work. And that they did - they delivered quality and went ABOVE AND BEYOND. My Lexus looks like I just walked away from the dealership brand new. It is a pearl color tricolor paint and they did an immaculate job blending it with the original paint. The great reviews I had read before walking in were very accurate. Will head their way in the future for maintenance services.

I came across Chris and his team because of my warranty company, they are one of the shops under the repair pal with my Maxcare warranty. I am beyond grateful that I choose to take it here, because I manage to dodge a huge bullet on repair cost. I only had one day left before my warranty expired...lol Chris was great about keeping me posted throughout the process, I knew it would take sometime when ever you have to deal with insurance companies, waiting for them to come out, then waiting for their claim adjusters to authorize the repairs. Ill had alot of issues with my vehicle, and I mean alot, and when Chris showed me all the work that needed to be done, and the cost, I thought there was no way my warranty was going to cover all of it, but they did and these guys did a great job fixing up my car. I took my car to clear lake collision with issues with my suspension. They found several issues with my car that was never caught or fixed by a different auto shop I took it to after a car accident. Clear lake collision fixed all the issues quickly and even cleaned the inside of my car.They used high quality parts to replace and repair my car. Would not trust any other body shop.

This place is amazing. I was in an accident, no workshop was willing to fix my car that I had just bought as a daily driver, but Chris, Ralph, and Basel took a look at the damage and said to give them a week. I went back to pick up my car and couldnt believe my eyes. My car looked brand new and I had to check the VIN to make sure it was actually my car. The work was so clean and perfect that I have been telling everyone I know about this place! The quality of work is beyond amazing, the service is the best, and the fact that the owners are willing to do the work at affordable prices is just something that will keep me coming back time and time again! In my opinion, mechanics are one of the most difficult service providers for me to choose. Its really hard to know who you can trust and who is just going to say theyve done something but never did it. This has been my past experience with numerous mechanic shops throughout the Houston area.Chris is the most professional and honest mechanic I have ever met and will be taking my vehicles to him for as long as he is available. He has taken personal time outside of business hours to explain conditions and the best course of action for repairs, aswell as provided a timely service that got us back in our vehicles to be able to get back to work.Unlike some of my other experiences, Chris made sure no grease or extra dirt was left in our vehicles after he was finished. I chose to bring my Subaru here for repair after it was damaged in a car accident. I read the other reviews & can say without hesitation the positive reviews are well earned. I was very apprehensive in dealing with the insurance company. In the past, I learned that regardless of whose at fault that insurance companies can leave you holding part of the bill if not properly handled. I was very pleased at the experience, professionalism and care, Ralph & his team members demonstrated in repairing my vehicle & working with the insurance company. Not to mention how hard they worked to get my vehicle back to me right before Christmas. My Parents were also impressed to the point that they decided to let them service their vehicle for regular maintenance/oil changes. Hopefully I wont have to use their collision repair services again anytime soon, but when the need arises (this is Houston) Clear Lake Collision and Auto will be my first choice. (My total in time shop was 9 days.)

Chris Smith is honest, professional, and has outstanding integrity in an industry often known for unethical business practices. You wont find that here, Chris and his team make you feel welcome. He doesnt upsell services, doesnt try and sell services you dont need, he just gives it to you straight. As someone who is mechanically inclined, there are certain jobs Im neither comfortable nor able to do myself. The level of detail that you can gather from Chris describing the repair process is unrivaled in my experience, he knows exactly what hes talking about.Our company will be lifelong customers to this business, and we drive from Cypress to Clear Lake because we wont send our vehicles anywhere else. 10/10

The work and turn around time is great however the communication skills is aweful. I was informed I would be called with updates. I received zero phone calls throughout the whole process. They never even called me to let me know my car was ready.

I dropped off my car Monday; as it would not start after driving briefly through an overpass puddle. The tow truck driver, Zach with Royal Auto Towing was very professional and we agreed; having helped people with this exact situation during Harvey, Katrina, and Ike; that it was likely the distributor caps that needed to be flushed, spark plugs removed, and that the airflow intake system had shut down the car (Toytas/ newer cars have this as their smart electronic safety feature) to prevent oil from reaching the engine/ a hydrolock situation from occurring (we both checks and the engine wasnt locked nor were there any signs of oil (cloudiness) when the dipstick was removed and checked.Zach recommended that I take it to his mechanic brother in law about 15 mins away, so we proceeded to take the car in and I spoke with Chris the man at the front desk. The tow truck driver, Chris, and even printed on their card said that the estimate would be free and he would call me later that day. I had to drive over to Sharpstown to report back into the Army, getting ready to deploy, and eventually wound up calling him 3 hours later (car was dropped off at 11; I called right after lunch/ meeting my Sgt at 2 pm).He told me they had checked it and were removing the spark plugs and it all looked good and he should be able to get it ready and going; literally not 10 mins later I received a call from him saying that the engine would not turn over, they had taken the vehicle apart; no clue what that means within a 10 min space of time) and now he would need to rebuild the engine and the cost was 6k. Needless to say, I informed him that I needed my car for my commitments, work, and day to day life; but I wanted to take it and either seek to look it over myself at home with tools and a place to work or to another shop for a second opinion.Then; his services became a diagnostic one that would cost $528 and change and if I didnt pay that the car could not be removed from his lot and would incur daily storage fees. I then asked to speak to the truck driver (Zachs) mechanic brother in law, who literally told me on the phone an estimate and diagnostic were the same thing, I was completely free to take it for a second opinion; but was placed on hold, to which he then proceeded to tell me that he and Chris had taken it apart and that it would not be permitted to be towed off the lot without the $528+daily storage fees being paid or the 6K complete work being performed.Honesty, integrity, staying true to your word, and honorable business practices has helped over the course of my years as a small business owner and is certainly instilled/ the creed in the US military; I would have/ would still be complely willing to compensate him/ his mechanic for parts labor expertise and getting my car road ready (probably spent over $300 in Lyft and Ubers for work/ day to day living); but extortion, false advertising, and outright being railroaded and my vehicle/ means of transportation being held hostage is unacceptable to me and is something I cant deal with/ just roll over and accept.My aunt who is a partner in a Houston law firm is writing him and his business a formal letter and it looks like, as of this weekend, it will proceed in a judicious matter; which is regrettable and could have been entirely avoided provided he and his business acted fairly, honestly, and proceeded with ethics and held true to his word; charged a fair to generous amount for a simple job or held true to his promise of a free estimate and proceeded to permit me to take my car for a second opinion or work on it myself; again as he, the tow truck driver brother in law, the mechanic, and his own business card clearly state is their policy.A regrettable, unnecessary, and ultimately timely/ costly for me exercise in dealing with unethical, false advertising, and bait and switch behavior/ down right extortionist tactics on the part of him and Clear Lake Collision and Auto.Sincerest hope for a fair and amicable resolution to this situation,3/22/20 car released.
