Great spot for a simple snack from Hawaii. Very popular with the the locals and tourist. Known for a variety of shortbread cookies some plain and others dipped in different types of chocolate. Customer service is awesome... Always welcoming and ready to help you find exactly what you are searching for. If you buy a lot, they also have a punch card which will help you possibly on your next purchase visit.

I must stop at Big Island Candies every time Im at Ala Moana. Wonderful stuff, decadence in ample supply, not one healthy thing can I see. A great place to indulge yourself.Personally, I love their chocolate covered brownies. My favorites are the mint and when its the season, their red velvet brownies. Last trip we got the passion fruit flavored ones and they were good too, but it helps if you love passion fruit.All in all, a great place to drop some money on the local economy. Hi, leave your guilt outside.

They started out making these sweets by hand and now 42 years later their original and still Hawaii favorite way to treat .Made the finest of ingredients and made to perfection . A company thats been around that long has to be doing something right and tasty. They make great gifts too! The photos posted gave me a sweet tooth.

They make allot of 🎂 sweets using Macadamia nuts go figure. I havent tasted any of their specializes , I need to watch my figure. They look delicious and I know I will be breaking down to try some soon.

The cookies here are so good!! They also provide a lot of samples so you can try all the different kinds of sweets that they have. Another good thing about the store was that they have small goodie bags! If you dont want to buy the bigger packs they have a lot of assorted stuff. Would buy here again

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Big Island Candies located on the ground floor in the Ala Moana Shopping Center. After sampling a few bites of various cookies from staff, I happened to meet Ashley, a very kind, patient and extremely helpful employee. I was visiting from the mainland, and needed to purchase some goodies for friends/family back home. Ashley was absolutely fantastic! There was no “salesman” pressure, and she took the time to explain the variety of items in the store. She was very thoughtful in answering all my questions and was very patient with me. I really appreciated all her help. She is an employee Big Island Candies can be truly proud of.

Great professional service, store was clean and neat as always, products easy to locate, displays very attractive (and oh so very tempting, lol!!), saw some different items from the last time i was there. Overall great experience. I sure miss the free samples though, 😉😁, darn covid! This store is a must visit for omiyage to send off Island. ❤👍💕 and by the way, Harumis shortbread cookies are da bomb! Not too sweet, with a light sprinkling of sea salt,, very ono!! A must try if you havent so far! The packaging is beautiful, quality, lovely, sturdy and makes for a lovely keepsake box- well worth it💕

There is nothing like it. All the other cookie places can never touch the variety they offer. We are so fortunate that they decided to open a single store in a shopping center here when their grassroots come from being hidden in a residential area of Hilo from their humble beginnings.

This is a great store if you are wanting something for yourself or are looking for a gift. They have everything from cookies to brownies to candy. There are always plenty of samples for you to try. Everything is packaged so beautifully. There is a nice selection of small items to larger items. I never walk out empty-handed.

I was stunned with the outrageous amount of different treats. We got to try just about EVERYTHING we desired. The people and whole store was a great experience! I will definitely come back!

Yummy shortbread cookies and other sweets. Try the Taro shortbread, it tastes like taro. Bought these as gifts for my family in NY. If youre in the store, they will let you sample the product before you buy. Also, they have a big selection of sugarfree cookies.

A wide selection of base cookies and dipped options. Brownies, crisps and crunches are also available. Selected samples are there to try which can assist making purchase decisions. All the staff are friendly, approachable and product knowledgeable without pushing sales and this is appreciated.

Yummy. Sample given once you walk in and samples laid out on most tables. Good variety of cookies but I wish there was more (chocolate) candy options available. Also sugar free options for cookies and chocolates.

Aloha and be aware that this place has one or more prejudiced sales staff at the Ala Moana mall. My wife is Japanese and I am local but because she knows we come to check out the samples once in a while, she avoids us and walks away. No smile or greeting, just pure racial descrimination directed towards us who live in the same city as herself. Mahalo
