Recently purchased new vehicle with Turbocharged and have always purchased Royal purple synthetic oil then have Collin & company service/maintenance eg cabin filter & K&N air filter R&R. Dont want to get OBD to erase check engine light, Collin has always done terrific service, plus should it take long, easy walk over the bridge through park & rest or clean my place until they call confirmation my vehicle is ready. Good exercise walking back for pickup. Reasonable though, they dont wash and ceramic customers cars with seniority anymore. LOL Hey Collin

Wow! Awesome service. My car overheated and I had it towed here since it was the closest auto repair shop to my house. They fit me in the next morning and repaired the hose that had come loose from my radiator for a very fair price. Friendly, honest, locally owned. Cant go wrong. Full on recommend.

Seems like a good place. I only went in for a safety check, but they were kind, professional, and efficient.

Makiki Auto, owned by Colin, is a throwback to the days of solid, honest neighborhood mechanics. The company is family owned with fair prices and lots of integrity. I started going there about 9 years ago at the suggestion of one of my employees who had known him since they were small kids and swore by him. Over the years they have provided a number of services for me from small issues like replacing a gasket to major repairs like timing belts and water pumps, tuneups, starters and so on on multiple different cars. They bailed me out of an emergency with my wifes Honda after I had already paid the Midas around the corner once to fix it wrong. They charged me very little for that. On another occasion, they fixed an issue I had identified as being a much larger problem for under $50. I had anticipated it being $300-600 and was ready for that. My dealer had told me the repair was needed and it would be a minimum of $500. I have sent at least 2 friends to Makiki Auto and they have had similar experiences and raved about the service, fairness of the prices and quality of the work and above all about the honesty of dealing with them. I continue to go there even now as a retiree living 30 miles away from their location. Its worth it to me to drive to town and get the work done there vs going to any of my cars dealers.

Due to limited space and high demand for auto repair in the Honolulu area, if you dont be persistent in trying to fit into their system...scheduling is backed up, and your need for a good running car is not going to be a quick fix...even though you may be paying hard earned money! Busy!

Terrible customer service when answering the phone. Answered the phone and I simply asked for a quote on an easy fix. Responded with no quotes over the phone bye.... great business they have going for them

Weve been coming here for years for routine maintenance and minor fixes. Makiki Auto is part of that increasingly rare set of hard-working, honest-pricing, neighborhood mechanics.

Worst experience,Fixed cv boot - strange sound came out when making a deep turn. - back to Makiki auto repair & test driving w/ a mechanic - he changed BREAK disk!!!!! WHAT???! - sound still there, of course!!I wasted $190 and nothing has been changed! Finally, i fixed the sound as googling. It was due to low level of power steering fluid, which might be related to a new part of cv boot.+ After fixing, the tire alignment went totally wrong and became hard to drive. They are never professional in many aspects.
