I was looking for a coat, or something to keep me warm. And I didnt want to spend much money. I would be traveling outdoors, so I needed to be prepared. The store was well organized. Some customers did not social distance, nor did they wear a mask. That ticked me off. But I got a WARM, sharp new jacket for like $10. I got a super warm hoodie with a fur (faux) lined hood and wool (?) Inside for $10. And for $4 a The Nightmare before Christmas hoodie with Jack & Sally. I believe in sustainable clothing. Reusing, repurposing. It helps the planet, it helps my wallet, and its helping my community.

HIGH PRICED, LOW QUALITY:I have shopped at this savers since 2013, back then it was good, NOW 2021 there was some changes that are not so good, notice they increase prices on all the items high priced almost new retail price and i have notice lot more flawed beat up defective merchandise with missing parts for example they put a product out (artic air portable air conditioner) they sealed up the box, i opened the box and found missing major parts, and also notice they put out a old dusty fan beat up making a clicking sound and charged near retail, saw a card table sells at walmart NEW for about 6.00 they have it for $9.99 it is advised to check EVERYTHING even sealed before purchase, about reviews notice lots of 5 stars could be fake reviews by employees paid to post a 5 star review so THINK TWICE before shopping, i always post very honest reviews, another thing dont come in to the store on a Monday at 50% off the store is extremely crowded and a hour in line backed up to the back of the store with most not wearing masks and strong risk in catching the delta variant.

I always liked Savers because I’d often find some unique vintage home decor items, but went in yesterday for the first time in over a year and either they raised their prices or I just never noticed before... like small boxes of generic facial tissue (the stuff you know would feel like paper) for $1.49 each, a beat up small brown hamper without a lid for $4.99. Stuff you’d think twice about picking off the curb on garbage day let alone paying money for. I decided not to buy the few things in my cart because their overall pricing was ridiculous.

The store is laid out well, but the prices are so absurdly high I cant justify going back. I used to shop here often but I am done. I have seen items that I know came from the dollar store priced at $2 or more. I have seen Ikea items priced for MORE THAN NEW at Ikea. They like to mark up prices on things like Pyrex and similar. You can expect to pay antique store prices here for anything they think is old and valuable regardless of condition. Chipped, dishwashered, beat to heck Pyrex bowl for $10...no thanks. Like one other review said a lot of their stuff I would expect to see in the free bin at a garage sale or on the curb and they have $5 on it. I have personally complained to corporate about the pricing and they just brushed me off. So if you want to support a price-gouging greedy corporation masquerading as a philanthropic thrift store by all means go shop here. Personally I will never go back and save my time for actual thrift stores where deals can be found. This store should be called Spenders because thats what youll be doing.

Savers has taken the covid virus seriously. The carts are cleaned, hand sanitizer is available throughout the store, aisles are marked for directions to walk and checkouts are marked and protected. Most importantly the employees were all wearing masks and wearing them completely covering nose and mouth completely. I found books organized and aisles marked well for item content. It was a pleasant experience to shop there.

I really love this store. So many great finds, I saw several Coach, Victorias Secret, and Michael Kors handbags/totes, unfortunately some priced up to $25, which is still a great deal, however, not when they are not in mint condition. I found a Calvin Clein tote for $8.99 that looks new,, so i was happy with that. Tons of cute costuns jewelry also! I didnt browse the clothing too much but did spot a few Victoria Secret/Pink bras and lounge pants.Of coarse, every Monday everything is 50% off, so s hould have waited until Monday I guess.Update as of December 13, 2020; masks are required and changing rooms still closed:(

Good selection with some great gem finds. Went today on National Thrift Shop Day and found a few amazing shirts I liked. One didnt have a tag, and although it was the exact same as the other shirt I had, the man who was working who seemed to be the manager on duty still wouldnt sell it or price it. It was the EXACT same brand, size, and type of shirt, just a different color. I was happy to have gotten the other one, but extremely disappointed nonetheless. Not a great attitude either from the gentleman. Also wouldnt let me hold it or anything, which I understand but its still just bad customer service. Hopefully they can do better in the future

I dont know what is up with this particular location lately, but the prices have been absolutely ridiculous. I am not paying 24.99 for a pair of used boots. I frequent other locations pretty regularly, and none of their prices are as astronomical as these. Not sure if other reviewers just dont thrift a lot, but even for a popular name brand that is really high. That being said, they do have a good selection and are very organized. I will only purchase on half off days, though.

Not the cheapest but the stuff (clothes) they are selling are fairly nice. 4 stars instead if 5 b/c prices went up and b/c many things dont have batteries and sometimes dont work. Today was my first time in the store. The tags had the wrong size. The xxl was actually a L and the L were labeled at xl. At checkout I was not aware of the bag policy, and right after we paid for the stuff I waited for the cashier to place our things in the bag, but she just started with the next customers. I asked if we could have a bag and she said we had to buy them. I wouldnt have minded paying for the bags but the cashier didnt even make me aware I had to buy them in the first place. I had to carry my things all the way to my car because the cashier was already done with us and moved on to other people :[

Good Luck finding parking on the weekends or in the evenings, and after you do, you find out that this store prices all of its items about $2-$3 higher then the rest of the Savers. Rude managers. Also, if you need to return something, they only exchange things, which is fine, but if the new item is less, even by a few cents, this Savers will steal your money. All other locations give cash back if the difference is under a dollar, this one just keeps it.......Im extremely disappointed that this is the location that will remain open, at least for now.....

Excessive prices on second hand items that they got free of charge. I love recycling, but with those high prices of Savers I prefer to shop at Burlington which is right across the street. Burlington has very good prices for new brand name items.A pair of used, dirty, unsanitized, worn out, sandals for my kid can be priced $7.99 at Savers, while a nice pair of new sandals in Burlington can be priced at $9.99.You really have to be out of your mind to buy those used items at this place.Another example is a used pair of jeans for adults is $14.99 in Savers, while across the street you might be able to find something new for $12.99 or eve $10.99 if you look in the clearance area.Like I said, I love recycling cause that stuff doesnt go to the landfill; but, with those prices of Savers no way.

Yes this is a thrift store and yes thrift stores should test the electronics but who has time for that when things are dropped off in truck loads or car loads. I use to work at the Community Thrift store in East Dundee they test most stuff and throw out half of the electronics donated people shouldnt donate broken items in the first place or clothes that smell like some one died in them but it happens and then these write it off on there taxes. YES Savers is a little more expensive then other thrift stores but they have a nice selection. They are way more organized you just have to pay attention to what you buy. They have a section of cheap cords for electronics and outlets to try them so if you buy something broken its your own fault. Savers also does have a return policy for some stuff so just pay attention.

This location has deteriorated in terms of merchandise selection, condition, and prices - suggesting unbelievable greed. The prices have increased significantly in the last year. The Arlington Heights location was far better in terms of merchandise and prices. I saw disgusting shoes that were ripped and seriously worn for $12.99! I saw new merchandise being sold for half the tag price - places like T.J. Maxx and Marshalls sell perfect merchandise for less than half the original. This is a thrift store, folks!!! I also noticed many chipped, cracked, or broken items in the housewares section - including an old plastic box I bought that crumbled when I got home!I hate to see thrift stores that benefit a worthy cause like epilepsy put high prices on items in poor condition - its a huge turn off. Even with 50% off, most items were a rip-off! In addition, the coupon for donating is only 20% off instead of 30% - I can get the latter on senior discount day, so I tossed the coupon! I regretted donating five bags of really good merchandise when I saw the prices in the store - it made me feel like an idiot.
