Friendly and helpful staff, tons of games to play. They also organize community game nights a few times a week so you can drop in alone and still play in a group and meet new people! Recommend highly. Theres no hot food but plenty of places nearby and delivery.

We came here to hang out and play some games on a rainy Sunday! We had a great game of Betrayal and then a cool Pride and Prejudice card game. The sandwiches were very tasty, the staff super nice, and the place was pretty packed by 2 p.m.! It was really cool hearing the D&D campaigns going on behind us. The place felt lively and welcoming. (Tho did get loud when full but I have sensitive ears and I was fine, it was a reasonable loud). I wish I didnt live so far away or I would come here all the time to try new board games. The $5 cover charge per person is super reasonable because they dont mind if you stay for a long game or a couple shorter games.

For five dollars you can sit here for as long as you want and make use of one of their hundreds of games. It is spacious, there are several tables and chairs and the decor is artsy. You can bring along your own food and drink. Aether has a homey feel and the proprietor is very helpful. He will come over to you to suggest games and show you how to play them. I really enjoyed! Thank you, Aether. Im sure Ill be back.

I went here to celebrate my birthday with friends thinking it would be as good as a game place Ive been to in Columbus, Ohio. Unfortunately it was a bit disappointing. I thought hey Im bringing 18 people here shouldnt they be a little more engaging and welcoming. We were just told o yes you have those tables back there and thats all the interaction there was. There was no guidance as far as how the games were categorized and no one to teach you how to play new games. We did have a good time but the staff wasnt very hospitable and the food was mediocre at best. If they had been a little welcoming and engaging Id give it a better rating.

Amazing board game cafe. The owner is extremely friendly and kind, and the spot has ample space for game play with an extensive amount of games to choose from. Parking is a little hard as you are limited to only 2 hours on most of the streets in Hoboken, so we decided to park in a garage in Newport and walked over. I like this place better than the spots I found in the city, and if parking was easier I would definitely be back more often.

Love the selection of games. Plenty of bathrooms and you could even play games outside if you wanted (we didnt because its HOT today and the inside is a pleasant temperature that encourages infinite game play). We werent told that we could pay half the price ($5 per person) for two hours of gameplay, just told that we could pay $10 per person for as much game time as we want. It turned out to be good though, as we spent a couple hours just leisurely playing several games. Love the games and the coffee, just be prepared to pay the higher rate on the weekend!

Great store with a great owner. They can get quite busy on Saturdays. The game library selection available for play is immense! I genuinely love this place.

Ive never met an unkind staff member. Coming here is always very fun. They have a wonderful selection of games to play.Ask about the tea! Theyre extremely knowledgeable about what they sell. Its lovely to see.If youre thinking about going you should really go.

I like this place. Its a small but cozy and fun place with A LOT of games. You can find anything you like, strategy games to word games etc. The owners are very friendly and talkative and helpful. I had a lot of fun the last time I was here and I am not even into board games that much.

A wonderful crowd with a great game selection. They have board and card games to play or buy, and lots of events on evenings and weekends. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, too. Hope more places like this pop up!

Great place to spend you time hanging out with fellow table top game nerds and just enjoy a more in depth experience. The energy is absolutely amazing, but I dont recommend you do your work here because it can get pretty loud. Also by the way they are currently moving shops, and now the gaming pass is 10$ so just take note of that. You might wanna come after the transition so you can get the 5$ pass.

I was not familiar with this concept but loved it when i was there. Great collection of games which kept us hooked there until close of hours. No one will bother you there

You pay $5 to play as many board games as you want... Honestly this is a great deal and I love this place. They have every board game imaginable. I only wish they served food but their coffee is good

Finally a good board game cafe on this side of the Hudson River! Plenty of seats and leveled tables (I know!!). The space is a bit echo-y, so when its busy it can get a bit loud. Pricing here is pretty standard - $5 for unlimited play. They have a decent variety and game selections here for guests to borrow (covered in the $5 fee), ranging from chess to Taboo to Power Grid. Food-wise, they only have packaged food and drink at this time, but Ive been told that they have plans to provide prepared food and drinks in the future. For now, they are open to visitors bringing outside drink and food.

Great local joint with friendly staff. Amazing collection of games and good Magic the Gathering scene. Good sportsmanship and challenging competition. Perfect place for FNM or an evening/afternoon with friends. Lots of great food and coffee choices and clean store (with pristene bathrooms).

Came for Wednesday standard Magic. They also had D&D campaigns running at the same time. The coowner was very nice and even loaned me one of his decks to play with as Ive been out of the game for 10+ years. Will definitely be back.

Better than the dentist that used to be there. Really cool that there is a game cafe in Hoboken. Its a shame they cant allow BYOB. This place is going to stick around as along as Stevens stays Stevens

I have been to this location a few times. I would give more stars but there is this person who works there that is quite opinionated and arrogant. He mocks games we want to play. He talks down to you. He tells you what would be better or in his opinion better games. He is also slow to help with anything but board game questions and seems to struggle with the cafe tasks. Did not pick up his name but he is rather short with glasses and very little hair. The location, selection, and other staff are great. This one guy named Ken was very helpful teaching us games!
