My experience at Pappadeaux was great, may 29, 2021.. the service was beautiful and warm. Unlike when i came a few day ago i was serve at your bar, and not so friendly. But this Sunday wasLauren as our serve and she was the best, and the food was delicious. 🌴

The staff is very very knowledgeable and takes the time to help! We will be coming here over The Hinsdale Nursery from now on!!

I went to Vern Goers just yesterday for my annual garden shopping. I had a great experience. The staff was all friendly. Multiple times, a staff member approached me to see if I needed assistance. The shopping experience was very organized and everyone worked hard to maintain social distancing precautions. And, as always, the quality of their plants and flowers is top notch again this year!

Quality flowers/plants, bad customer service. Visited twice in the last 2 weeks, once for daffodils and another for tulips. First time I was ignored while waiting to pay & chalked it up to staff having bad day. Second visit, waited again (only 2 customers allowed inside as Covid precaution), an older sales lady walked by me & I asked if she could ring me up, she replied, very curtly, no Im busy. Three more employees walked passed me as I stood with my arms folded. It took another 5-7 minutes for someone to acknowledge and check me out. Owners should stop making excuses and address the problem.

Great Plants. The only problem is the staff. They are knowledge but seem very stressed. They arent good listeners and cut me off mid-sentence a number of times to answer what I had not asked. They were rude, scolded me like a bad child not a customer that is going to spend hundreds of dollars. When I said I had a picture of the space I wanted to put one plant a sales person told me Id have to come back another time for that. I didnt leave and accidentally bumped into the owner who was unlike the frantic ladies and guided me to a good selection. Maybe they need more sales personal, maybe they need customer service training, idk. I still would hands down recommend this place because the plants are the best. Just be prepared to possibly have to deal with a tense, frantic person. Try to go when its not busy ...

Bad customer service. No one greeted me. When I asked a young girl that came into the greenhouse what plant it was, she told me she wasn’t a cactus expert and walked away. Awful attitude.

LOVE this garden center! Great healthy plants at very reasonable prices. Staff if very knowledgeable and pleasant to speak to. When im not on a plant shopping spree (pretty much every weekend during spring), I like to stop by during my lunch break and take a stroll through the greenhouses and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Definitely in my top 5 go-to nurseries.

This place has a great selection of flowers, and the majority of staff are fantastic at checking if you need help! The only downside was a woman that seemed to be the manager - she appeared to be highly stressed/anxious and was complaining about how other employees were doing their job in front of the customers, such as myself. Not really helping the mood at a great place!

Cute place and they have a good amount of plants but they were mostly outdoor plants. Felt a little awkward there because no one said anything when we arrived and the employees just kinda kept glancing over at us without saying anything but the lady who rang us up was nice

Mostly they have every thing u need we came Friday before memoriel day,no cherry tomatoes and other tomatoes were sold out,that u would want not many petunias or impatients.so u might have to go somewhere else

Love this place!If you are a serious gardener and are looking for perennials that go beyond the usual items available at places like Home Depot this is the place to go. The staff is knowledgeable and can answer any questions you have about the plants and what conditions will insure their success.Always learning something by visiting Goers...

Went here for the first time and will never come back. My kids wanted to “buy” me vegetable plants for Mother’s Day. Asked about some different vegetable plants. Was told “you have a phone, look it up”. Horrible customer service.

I went in right before Fathers Day and asked for an easy to care for plant for my 93 year old father in Assisted Living. I explained that he has a south facing window and emphasized that I need something that is plain-old easy to care for. I was given a hibiscus. I went to see Dad a couple weeks later and it is virtually dead with mostly brown leaves and no blooms. I took it back, asking what I can do to revive it and was told that the plant I was sold is an OUTDOOR plant. When I said that I had given instructions that it was to go on a south windowsill the clerk just kept repeating, Its an outdoor plant. I dont know who would do that. I dont know who would do that. I dont know who would do that. No acknowledgement that they had done the wrong thing in selling this to me, no offer to exchange it, nothing. No taking responsibility for their mismatch in the sale, no offer to stand behind what they had sold. She offered to SELL me something else. Their prices are astronomical too. I went there willing to pay top dollar specifically to get good advice on this particular purchase and got such outlandish advice I would have been better off buying any old plant at Walmart. Will not go back, do not recommend.

Best place in Hinsdale area for all your annual, perennial, and vegetable garden needs!!! Our family has shopped here for years. Their prices may be a tad higher, but you get plants that are in great condition (many of them are grown in house), and a family-run operation with super-knowledgeable people who have been in the business for decades (the current owners grandfather started the original nursery) and who are extremely helpful! Their plants and flowers are just beautiful. Seven or eight huge commercial hoop/greenhouses plus another four or five large open areas stuffed full of plants. The parking lot is often full on busy days, but street parking is available. They do not sell much in the way of shrubs or trees, but their bedding plants and veggies beat all the other area nurseries and greenhouses hands-down.

Good selection of plants not all the same generic options. All plants are well taken care of. They have experienced staff that has been there for years.

Wow! I just called to ask if they had bus parking and the women I talked to was absolutely rude. She said a bus would scrape if it pulled in the parking lot. She said you would have to park on the street. I didnt understand what she meant by a bus would scrape so I said all cars scrape too? And she replied, well the bus could pull in if he wants to scrape, I really dont care thats up to him. I was done after that comment. I was only trying to get clarification on what she meant, I didnt even bother to ask her if buses were allowed to park on the street or what. Told her she was real helpful and said good-bye....She was helpful in a bus load of 50 garden club people wanting to buy plants wont be buying them there!!

They treated me very well, and their prices are good. Very accommodating.

Ive been buying annuals at Vern Goers for 25 years. They have a huge selection of plants. And, while the selection diminishes as the summer progresses, unlike some nurseries, Vern Goers continues to stock fresh plants throughout the summer.

I buy all of my garden staples from here. This is what a great family run business should be. Friendly, helpful and fairly priced quality products.
