Hilo is a small town on the Big Island. The Walmart is the only on the island. Not alot of food options as usually on the mainland, but whats provided works. the Staff are usually very helpful and its always busy. Wear your mask and sanitize as you enter the store.

Most awful customer experience at Walmart I have ever had in hilo and hawaii at any store here the staff thinks their job is to harass customers more then to help them and do their job customer service. No one bothers or tells customers what to do in the states much less have security threaten you and prevent customers if they dont have a mask

For anyone visiting the big island of Hawaii you might want to bring your own bags otherwise you have to buy bags

Wally world. Have a list! Sometimes you find a surprise in the space. Say yes and enjoy the nice find. Yesterday they had a really good dress for me, and affordable! So I treated myself. Beyond that it is good for paper products and many of my needs for my bnb business.

As Ive been instructed before to go through the Exit door for returns, the Greeter didnt even smile nor speak. The cashier was capable but not a smile either, wheres the friendliness!! Service was semi fast & super easy! Store was clean & there were staff around. Upon leaving, same Greeter, still no smile!!

I was in the optometrist office everything is clean, sanitized and organized perfectly! The customer service was amazing! Kyle should get a raise! He was such a professional! His coworker was also welcoming and professional.

Clean store with everything you need and would expect at a Walmart. Plenty of parking.

I found the Hilo Walmart to be better than the Kona one. For a tourist like me they had a better, wider selection of gift items to give to folks back home. I dock them for not having any eggs and butter when but that might be because I came late evening when they were restocking.

Great store & very friendly employees. I went in for a few items I needed & was able to get them with no problems & super fast with the easy self check out. I would definitely recommend this Wal-Mart if youre in the area looking for one! & YES they do follow Covid rules, so please be respectful & wear a mask!

Kona Walmart always good place to shop. There is no seats to eat at but the McDonalds is open. This Walmart except medical exemptions for face mask 😷

I sometimes drive to Hilo just for their Hawaiian plate lunch! You get a huge laulau, lots of kalua pig, plus chicken long rice, lomi salmon, the best poke, and fresh poi! Only thing missing is the haupia. (How about it, Guy? Glad to pay more if its included.)Available on Fridays only, so go early.

Needs more variety in food. When I go to Walmart I want babybelle cheese. God I love that cheese. This Walmart needs better snack options. Also they didnt have a lot of cheese options.

Great pick up service at the airport. They took us to the pick-up spot, and got us on the road quickly. I highly recommend them.

Always a swift in & out with this creature comfort. The security in the parking lot was going the extra mile to keep the place free of criminal activity.

The only Walmart we have on our side of the island is generally crowded but I dont mind going at times to grab something I need because they have the lowest prices for almost everything under the sun (household items, automotive, tools, food, etc.) They even use to stock nice clothes but within the last year or two the quality and choice of clothing is terrible.

Always out of stock and everything you need any idea of the good employees that always have a smile talk the customers and are very helpful they seem to all disappear there

Im a bit worried about Walmart and sanitizing carts. The other day when we went three carts were obviously not clean, one even had a mask still in it. The others had papers and napkins. With Covid having a resurgence in our area you would think they would be cleaning better

Didnt know store. Customer service means nothing there. Except Asian man in electronics was very helpful. Never go there again. Will drive to Wal-Mart in Kona even though I live in Pahala. Customer service means something at Kona Wal-Mart.

Food prices are pretty good and the store is clean. The staff is VERY helpful and informative. Very different from other Walmarts I have been too.

Easily the best jams and baked goods you could want! I mean, who has mangosteen jam? Or Ginger Lillikoi? And the turnovers kept us going all day at Volcano National Park! Definitely make it part of your trip out to see the Aka Falls!

This Walmart has a lot of the usual frustrations that most Walmarts have, but I did receive excellent customer service from an associate named Brandon today so I wanted to say, “Thanks for making my day Brandon!”

They run out of the basics, know the shipments, get the goods! Catch the deals. I call it Wally World because its always an adventure & you pay to play😉

Walmart in Hilo is friendly, clean, and well stocked with everything you need to live better on Hawaii Island. They have a very large selection of souvenirs, swim and dive gear, and electronics but also all sorts of water catchment supplies and feeds as well.

Hilo Walmart is easy to find and lots of parking. Like any Walmart it has a little bit of everything inside and a McDonalds. Has a full grocery side and retail side from sporting goods to electronics, clothing, pet care area, automotive and you name it I think its in there. Easy to check out with multiple lanes and carts are always available inside. The prices are not bad and cheaper than the smaller local towns.

Normal prices compared to the mainland. Tons of bathing suits and beach attire. Cashiers are super nice and helpful. They chat with you about your trip as you check out.

VERY VERY VERY rude and discrimination against all disabled customers! Lived on island 5 years, we very single time it doesnt improve. Ive called corporate, they dont care, they say FEMA owns and operates this location so no complaints will help. So its worth the extra drive to go to the kona store. Save your stress, go to kona Walmart, Hilo one doesnt care about its clients at all!!!

Open late , McDonalds in store, full groceries section. Workers are decent, prices are usually lower than most stores, with a good variety of products , this store includes a pharmacy.

I always have a wonderful time at Walmart the people always are smiling willing to help you find something going actually out of their way to make sure that you dont leave the store without everything you need and if its not there thank you Walmart for online shopping when a customer you for years and years and years Im 66 years old and Ill keep coming back

They do a super lot of business!!!! The aisles in walmart need to be wider two cart wide. They got the space to do that. And they have the revenue to pay for it.

Cashier in beauty had no change in drawer. I knew that because she told me and customers before me. Expressing why management not bring change. On the way out a little boy dropped a jar of spaghetti sauce. Sauce and glass everywhere. No one attended to it, cashier did not close lane. Cashier in beauty was great!

This Walmart is cleaner than most, and the staff have Aloha! The store has plenty Hawaiian themed products. Very busy on weekends and EBT funding days the 3rd through the 5th. On these days expect long check out lines and even the line to exit.

Crowded, no organic food, out of a lot of things.

Smaller than the Kona Walmart and laid out very different than the 100s of other Walmarts Ive been to. It is Walmart so I has all the items you normally enjoy from Walmart. The food selection is similar to Walmart not a super Walmart. All though both Walmarts on the island sell beer wine and whiskey. The prices are slightly higher than theainland but that is expected for how long the products have to travel. This location will save you a lot of money over the local chains and store. I do love Walmart myself in fact so much I am a stockholder. I did not see any great value chips but also expected being Walmart was based and started in Arkansas. Waltons 5 & dime is a great stop if you ever visit Arkansas 🤙🥥🌴🌋 Mahalo

Walmart is walmart. Sometimes you go there for food and buy a bunch of toys you saw on clearance for $1.50 something like that.

I want to sincerely thank Maria that works in fitting room. I left my purse in one of the fitting rooms Tuesday night and she turned it into security! Not being a local and just visiting Hilo, losing my bag would’ve ruined my trip! I can’t thank her enough. Everybody has been so kind on the island Mahalo❤️

Prices tend to be competitive but store seems to be under staffed, good luck finding help! (Was wanting to buy something in a locked display) Cant have both I guess!

Somewhat odd set up, guess it takes time to figure it out

I was disappointed, in that they didnt have remotely near enough disabled carts. I waited 45 minutes before I could get a cart, so I could go in.All of the staff and cashiers that I dealt with, were quite pleasant and courteous. I dont consider the cart issue a fault of the staff, but rather of management.One as a reminder of the security guards notice that Ive been waiting and he went out himself to the parking lot, to retrieve me a buggy. Super nice guy

I hate the fact that Walmart has some person checking receipts as you go out. They are completely worthless. They dont even look at the cart or the contents on the receipt in compare. They just make a yellow line on the receipt. A pointless waste of my time and their money. Which of course altimate Lee we pay for. I dont stop for them.

Disappointed they dont sell replacement rubber ear pad inserts for Powerbuds or any brand. Dog and cat food supply pretty well stocked. No mini pumpkin pies though. 5th star for happy experience seeing an old roommate Erik just happened to be working in electronics today whom I havent seen in a few years.

I didn’t receive my photo frame , I ordered online from the photo center. FedEx said someone signed for it, but I didn’t get it. Walmart Julie Ann said they can’t resend another personal item and that I need to dispute the charges with my bank. How can you run an online business if you can’t get the product to the customer? The only Walmart Ive been to with a security guard in a pickup outside and another checking receipts at the exit. I went a couple of times around Christmas and it was always very busy. Full parking lot and long lines at the registers. Self checkout moved at a good pace.A reasonable seltion of groceries, including bread and produce. No premade foods such as salds/sandwiches.

Starting to run out of items again. It is odd to shop for milk products and find empty shelves.

Toxic unsafe shopping environment you can smell all the cheap product degassing they must have their air conditioning on recirculate the air smells like chemicals all the time. they have all the aisles filled with displays so two shopping carts cannot pass at the same time. they redirected their door greeters to double check all receipts at the exit if you try and leave they will stop you like youre a criminal! More and more items are locked up so if you want something you got to find an employee that has the key (goodluck!!) then they walk you and the product to the nearest register they force you to pay for it immediately! Absolutely horrible customer service ... a very unpleasant shopping experience.

Ehh its walmart. I dont recommend unless youre desperate.
