I came to find a competent supplier for our new home build. We built ground-up over this summer. Folks I dealt with; Janel, Merrillyn, Kapua, all very savvy and super helpful. We went over budget big time with the price hikes this summer but price and service always went in favor of HPM. Highly recommend.

The people inside were nice. Ill still go back. Warning: Marketing is a big lie. I got a Welcome to the neighborhood coupon in the mail with bold letters stating Anything I could fit in a bucket was 10% off. It was not, 75% of the stuff was already on a discount. Im sure there was fine print stating stuff already on discount wasnt anything, but for a meager 10% I thought I could trust the advertisement without lawyering it out. In the future Ill take my chances more with the Chinese goods from Amazon that I can trust more than HPM. The $15 they saved on me at the cost of my trust wasnt worth it in my eyes.

Some core materials are very expensuve compared to Home Depot. Our project delivery was short a pier and all the roofing :( they did partially rectify

Great local hardware and home improvement store. Sure, sometimes its more expensive than the big stores, but Ive have always found the help that I need and none of the frustration. Lumber selection is extraordinary, and theres a design center attached for remodel or new build help. You can even buy a house here if you want. Truly exceptional. Always shop here first.

HPM is a great local hardware store. They are always happy to answer any questions a person has, and will even recommend a competitor if they cant provide the needed supply.

Locally owned hardware store. The customer service is great. The selection is good and the prices are decent. Youll prob find it cheaper at Home Depot, but Im in and out quicker (and easier) at HPM

HPM is the place to go if you want good customer service. The big box stores just cannot compete. I have ordered construction materials from both and there is a stark difference between them and HPM. I am now a loyal HPM customer.

Out of stock of some things, deposits for frames, dont you think this all could have been avoided with a little customer service.

Purchased our beautiful bathroom vanity here. More recently purchased our PCA Screen Doors, hold up better in Hawaiian climate (no rust issues). Wally Iopa was fantastic at helping us select & order doors. Like many have mentioned in reviews, super customer support!

If you need help this is the place to be, every 4 or so isles there is a rep ready to assist, they have everything you need to build a house. Cashiers are friendly and knowledgeable, had to look for parts to build a bolt on bracket for an elaborate mount, the gentleman that helped me was awesome letting me bounce ideas off of him and he showed me the differences in appropriately grading the hardware for the job.

Imagine a building supply, with helpful on point staff, good selection of pro gear and materials. A place where you dont hear It is not my department.!! Yes, you are not at Home Depot anymore.!! Enjoy the difference.

Normally Im an HPM fan but lately things seem to have slipped...Moving the paint Dept from a convenient drive up, into the main store, now requires a hundred steps to get in to find a clerk youve never seen before and then they and you have to do another hundred steps out to the front or back parking...where it was almost no steps before....This is an Improvement...??Next is turnover in the Lumber Dept....used to be pleasant knowledgeable crew who knew you and lumber well.....now it seems like they change every month or so.....so being a Regular has no value whatever....

Staff is WAY more knowledgeable, helpful and available than at Home Depot.

The 2nd most expensive hardware store in Hilo. Get the same products down the road considerably cheaper at the Home Depot. The senior discount is a joke...Double check your receipt for the 10% thats offered.Staff here has always been unhelpful to me as most dont know a thing about building supplies or tools.Save time, save money, and keep stress levels low by shopping at Ace or the Home Depot.

Solid wooden doors and windows, as well as electrical and plumbing systems, are sold in large quantities at incredibly cheap prices in Japan. How much did you want to bring home for one house?By the way, home improvement in Japan is called hardware in the United States, so just in case.
