Love the car but one thing that could’ve been a 5 star rating is car was low on gas. Wished they filled the tank up since I did drive 9 hours there and back to pick it up.

Great guys. My only problem was that we got pre-approved by capital one. Due to incomplete documents, we had other issues. Without our approval, the dealership applied for loans to two other credit companies. I think such step requires approval of the person you are seeking the loan on behalf of.The car has been in an okay condition.

So I know people have poor dealership experiences, but my father checked out this place after finding them on Google for a Mercedes. Stuart was truly one of the most amazing people my father has had the opportunity to buy a car from. I am one that HATES to car shop! That has changed after shopping and buying a car with Joel, as our salesman, at M&I!! This was the smoothest and fastest process ever!! We spent a total of maybe 1.75 hours from the minute we stepped foot on the property to the time my son was driving off with his new car! (2013 Honda Civic Si.)As for the car, we paid exactly what we feel the car is worth! Right in line with NADA and this car is immaculate! My son is in auto tech classes and was allowed to put it on the lift today. ZERO issues! Even took pictures of an 8 year old car frame and being a Midwestern car, there was no rust! (Yeah...some bolts with surface rust but thats nothing!)We live on the North side of Rockford and I am telling you now, next time Im in the market for a vehicle, I will be shopping M&I !!

Nice staff but i feel so played out of my money, only two months into ownership and i have serious electerical issues. They have their own service mechanics, i felt comfortable paying additional thousands of dollars for the extented warranty, now i drive my vehicle feeling played. I have gone to them two times with the problem, all i get is excuse and get left in the dark.... 12/15/20

DO YOUR DUE DILIGENCE BEFORE YOU BUY A CAR FROM M&I MOTORS!!!!I bought a 2011 Audi Q7 on January 2, 2021 from M&I Motors, It hasnt even been two weeks since I purchased the car and its already broke down in the mechanic shop.Three days after purchasing the car the check engine light came on, and two days after that I woke up to a large puddle of oil that had leaked out of the power steering pump on my driveway.I was told by the Audi service advisor that there was apparent shoddy work done to the vehicle, and whoever sold me the car had used cheap hardware store clamps on the high pressure steering pump lines that were guaranteed to give out sooner or later. Also, he advised me that the check engine light had been cleared but not fixed because there were active codes dating prior to me purchasing the vehicle. Essentially they put a bandaid on whatever was wrong with the car to get it sold.Its ironic that they brag about their customer service and to buy with confidence because they check all their vehicles and give 3 month/3000 mile warranty, but Its all a sales pitch, dont be fooled, if you come to buy a car from these guys get it inspected with a mechanic you trust, its worth the expense.I understand there is a risk when buying used, but it is obvious that they knew the vehicle had problems and sold it that way. I have tried on multiple occasions to reach out to M&I Motors to get some help, but I keep getting the run around every time I call. When I ask to speak to someone and ask for help, nobody but the owner can make decisions and the owner conveniently is overseas and is not available. Apparently he/she has been overseas and back multiple times within a week and a half because every time Ive called I get the same line, the owner is overseas and will be back in a few days. I digress, so In lieu of the owner, I have tried to contact the manager and have left a voicemail only not to get my calls returned from him either.Now Im stuck with a hefty bill from Audi to get my not even 2 week old new/used car fixed and the people at M&I who promise they take care of their customers are nowhere to be found. I hope they prove me wrong and call me to get this worked out, because as of right now they have let their customer down. So dont expect them to take care of you, theyre in it to make as much money as possible and only care about the bottom line and not their customers. No reputable car dealer would sell a car in that condition.

Out bank fees for a loan I made for a car. They promised multiple times to send me a measly $100 for bank and overnight mail charges they incurred when they canceled my purchase on me. Never received the reimbursement as promised.

I found my vehicle online, requested more info and was contacted shortly regarding the vehicle. I decided to go in the next day to take a look. The condition of the vehicle was exactly as advertised. I feel like I was treated well and got a pretty decent deal. What really blew me away as a member in our armed forces was how much these guys love our military. Anyway, I would not hesitate to do business here again!

I dont typically write reviews but this dealership is excellent! i have very low credit and this is the first time i has to finance a car. i just started a new job and my car died I was extremely nervous as i didnt think i would be able to get a loan even with the small down payment i had. Joel was very very awesome down to earth and very willing to go the extra mile!!! they were able to get me a loan with a good payment price every month. Not only did he help get the loan he also helped with my insurance. I couldnt reach my agent (busy due to what is going on) to change over my car on my insurance Joel was able to reach out to a state farm rep to help me get everything switched over. The agent was able to get everything switched over and even finally got a hold of my rep so we could get my insurance cards emailed to them. while i dont normally recommend places, this place is a great place to go for a used car! everyone was friendly, just the most wonderful experience! thank you!! :0)

M and I Motors helped me get the truck that I love. I purchased an Alpha H3 Hummer and have had no issues. The sales team was professional and gave me the time I needed to view their inventory. No pressure from anyone. I purchased this truck due to the great condition and price. I had a shop work on a few items on this truck and had no issues. The shop manager and mechanics were professional and answered all my questions and concerns. I know that my next truck will be purchased here and I recommend M and I to anyone who is seeking high end vehicles at a great value. Everyone who works here that I met were courteous and professional.Just needed to add to this review. After having my H3 for several months I came to realization that I actually needed a different truck. I needed more room believe it or not. The team at M&I were wonderful. They helped me review the inventory and after testing 2 trucks I purchased my 2015 Ford Explorer. The owner Michael and manager Julian helped me with all of the paperwork and purchased the H3 for a very fair price. I highly recommend them to anyone. Thank you again for all that you have done for me and my family. The kids love the back back seat aka 3rd row and my 13 yr old loves all the extras and plug in abilities on this truck. Was able to negotiate price. Took 63 mins from walk in test drive, agree on price, finance, sign paperwork, drive. Will return in future. Very few dealers are non crooks these guys want to keep cars moving and are people with integrity.

I’m a firm believer that all things happen for a reason. Some things work out and some things don’t, so I took a very calm, direct, but intentional approach to finding the car I wanted, the car itself was a needle in a haystack but what I’ve learned from my research is so is Joel. From our first interaction he matched my energy and I never felt as if I was prey. From the moment I arrived it was a very respectful atmosphere with Joel. He’s a great multitasker, & very down to earth in conversations outside of sales...I had to drive my new vehicle about 63miles just to get it home, OH BUT THE RIDE, DEPENDABILITY, & OVERALL LOOK of the car is just what I deserve. At the dealership I was only told that the car had an accident history AFTER I had put down my down payment. I wasnt told the extent of the damages, cost of the damages ($16k!), or the affected areas of the car. Seems like all of their cars on the lot have a accident history.I will say that the car currently drives fine and that Joel did do a great job of securing me a low APR at a time when I had no loan history. I only wish they were a little more transparent at the time of purchase.Overall s**t happens, learn from my mistakes

Brought a car from them i live in Indiana .I had to wait almost 45 days for the paperwork to come so I could get it plated. Then when I was able to come to find out I had to pay like 150 for the sales tax because they sent a check for 981 and the sales tax were a lil bit above 1100 I sent them the receipt they said they would send the difference now when I call Noone answers and they are not returning my calls they suck and im mr.phillips

They claim to have done a 180 point diagnostic check on a 2016 Ford mustang after purchasing the mustang my 20-year-old son and I brought it to a Ford dealership only to find that the engine needed to be repaired extensively and M&I motors thinks that offering up a rental car for 2 days was enough theyve ignored multiple times of me trying to request help multiple tries to offer to pick up more of a tab for my son who could not drive the vehicle for a month this company is a failure and a sham and I would not advise anyone to buy a vehicle from them at any time in the futureIn response to you saying I was trying to squeeze money out of you that didnt cost my son anything. What about the month and a half of payment he had to make without being allowed to drive a car you said you checked out. How about that $600+ it cost him?I am ready to put in a call to the BBB based on the lies over this car. I was incorrect on the year but it passed your 180 point inspection test but needed to be parked that same day. Explain that with one of your snake lies

Wanted to share an experience that I had at M & I Motors in Highland Park, Il. It is an odd experience, and it was far from the experience that I was hoping for. With that said, I am giving the dealership a 5 star review--without hesitation. I purchased a late model 911 Carrera S as a fun weekend driver. Within hours, the cars indicator lights lit up my dash like a Christmas tree. I opted to bring in to a Porsche dealership to be evaluated. At first they told me it was spark plugs--which I had replaced. As that is considered wear and tear and it was a 10+ year old car I sucked it up and paid for the repair. Within minutes of picking it up from Porsche, it lit up again. Porsche did further evaluation and indicated that the engine needed to be broken down and it was likely catastrophic engine failure--carrying a bill of 20k or more to repair. (Needless to say, I was furious.) To make a long story short, M&I had a different opinion than Porsche. Some quick repair was done that resulted in the lights going off. Michael, the owner, agreed in writing to let me keep the car for a week--and if for any reason (including but not limited to the motor failing) he would return the car for a full refund. He also gave me a personal 3 month--3000 mile drivetrain warranty on top of that. (As a lawyer) I wrote up a contract (by hand--in his office) and he signed it, without argument. I took the car home and hoped for the best. It looked like it was going to be ok for the first 3 days. On day 4 the second I started it up it sounded like the effects track from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I put on my hazards and drove to a European car mechanic. He affirmed Porsches suspicions. (Apparently there was a design defect in the Porsche 996-997.1 generation which almost always leads to serious problems. If caught early, it can sometimes be avoided. Once it happens--your motor is in deep trouble. This is not something that can be easily diagnosed when a dealer takes it in on trade or buys it at auction. It is a leap of faith.) I had the car towed to M&I. I picked up my check. Im not going to guarantee you will get an amazing car if you buy from M&I--but if you deal with the owner (Michael) he will treat you fairly.

I saw a vehicle online and reached Craig via phone to ask about some other aspects that werent photographed. Craig took a look and called me back within 30 minutes, assuring me that the vehicle is in mint condition. I felt confident enough to make the ~5-hour trip to see it for myself. The vehicle was exactly as described on the website and via phone.They werent willing to budge on the sale price, but there was some wiggle room in their offer on my trade-in. After we agreed on the details, they helped me finalize the deal quickly so I could get back home at a reasonable time.All-in-all, Im extremely pleased with the transaction (and the car!) and I wouldnt hesitate to recommend M&I Motors. Ive already put about 1,500 miles on it since I bought it and I have no issues/concerns thus far.10/15/2020 UPDATE: Im always curious what others experiences are months after the purchase, so I thought Id come back over a year later to provide a brief update. Ive put well over 20,000 miles on my car since I bought it from M&I Motors. I still love it just as much as the day I bought it! There have been no surprise issues. I highly recommend M&I for your next car purchase.

My son bought a 2011 Mercedes S550 from them less than a year ago. Needless to say this car has been in the shop more than he has driven it! Wrong size tires were on it! Needed new brakes and rotors. The air suspension was messed up ! Not saying they aren’t nice people , because the salesman was nice . Just happy he purchased that warranty. Buying used you just don’t know what you are going to get.

I was wanting to upgrade in corvettes from a 1986 to a 2005 they had on their lot. Was in touch with Erik, who answered me right away and made my appointment to test drive this Saturday. Coming from indiana I got snagged in some traffic, which had us late... but was told to find Joel, and he would help me.He throws the keys with the broken key fob my way, and I was off. I test drove the car, i then asked to finance, and was told... their not a bank, and the only bank that would touch me was in California that needed 5000$ down and the loan would be at 10%. I walked away...As I was leaving, Joel walks up to a some gentleman saying their bet was partially won... I wanted to buy the car, I just didn’t have the finances. Gee thanks for that.... classyMy mistake for not doing my homework.. like reading these reviews until after my experience. ... working 60 hour weeks in a hospital during COVID... I know where I went wrong... And checking into the preapproval... the fine print would read, 2010 and newer then its a go.I just did your Capital Loan finance for auto, and I’m approved for up to 50,000$ So, thanks for saving me from your squeaky braking, glitchy driverside mirror, turn signal may need new bulb corvette.Worse experience ever

I went in on Tuesday to look at a Ford Explorer. Earl was extremely helpful and honest. It was a fast and easy deal. I got to bring home my Explorer that day and not at one point did I feel pressured to buy. It was the best deal I had seen for a vehicle like that so I had to get it and not miss out.

After spending months of looking for the right vehicle we found it here. We were helped by Joel and he made this daunting process quick and smooth. He was fast in response and even backed up his word on a typo on a add about the vehicle having auto start. They honored this and got us in within a week to have it installed free of charge!! I have worked in customer service for over 10 years and I was amazed at the service we received! I love our car and so happy to have had this process with M and I. They even have delicious complementary coffee :)
