This was probably hands down the best thing out of our entire 4 day trip. The ice cream was heavenly never had anything like it before and the flavors were amazing.

There is always a line, so really lines dont matter to this type of review; waiting is part of the experience. I had their lemon ginger basil sorbet. It was delicious and I recommend that it becomes a staple flavor rather than just a special. 5/5 will bang again.

Small ice cream shop with big flavors! A good selection of the varieties youre used to (huckleberry included!) and a wide array of ever-changing specials. One scoop or two: you wont have room for dinner. Or maybe youll get a sundae, or a milkshake, it doesnt matter: the serving sizes are huge! And its all topped off with employees who are as friendly as can be.

I love this place. Is obvious that is also a destination of many families, and Carroll college students. I like to have my string orchestras perform on the sidewalk in the downtown mall in front of the Big Dipper. It is a nice place to share our music with the patrons of the Big Dipper Ice Cream Shop . I would highly recommend this as a treat when here in town.

This is some of the best ice cream you will find. They have a lot to choose from and always have some specials. The prices are pretty good and the staff is always friendly. Usually a little bit of a line because they are sooooooooooo good! Definitely stop in if you are in the area.

Great place only problem is only fully vaccination people can go in plus forwarding customer calls? Yes its busy but that does not mean you get to forward calls n tell people they cant go in because they dont want the shots! This is how you lose business.

I wanted to do send something different than flowers. I thought ice cream would be better than an edible arrangement. Boy was it a hit! I live in Florida so Uber eats delivered it. That was an easy process and it was the first time I ordered through Uber Eats. The delivery driver contacted me and the app showed a map of his delivery route, it told me right before it was delivered. Right on time I got a phone call from the recipient so excited and completely surprised by it. So cool!! I called the store because I had substitutions with my order and it was so easy they got everything I asked right. I highly recommend them and it is an awesome gift to give someone!!

Full disclose...I am a slave to all things ice cream. I just finished a great meal and was looking for something sweet and this place popped up. Any chance you get to eat homemade artisan ice cream, stop whatever you are doing and get some. This is that kind of place. Simple flavors done right. I got maple walnut. Dreamy good with a just soft enough consistency. Outstanding way to cap off the day!

I somewhat frequently have coconut ice cream from the Big Dipper. Tonight I found out THEY HAVE CHOCOLATE DIP!! And the chocolate is really top notch. So smooth and dark. The shop is located in the walking mall in downtown Helena. Its an adorable place to strolls while enjoying your ice cream give it a try.

It is DELICIOUS!!!!! I rode my bike 5 miles just to get some with my bestie. We had a lot of fun just wandering around eating our ice cream cones and drinking our sodas! Most fun I have had all month!

It is a great Montana staple. So glad we have one in Helena. My kids each have their own flavor they love from chocolate to salted caramel to peanut butter. My husband likes the shakes and I get to enjoy the dairy free options.

We live out of town (and coincidentally have our own Big Dipper) but love coming to Helenas when we we come to visit family. Their selection is unique and always gull if surprises. The ice cream is flavorful, full of toppings (if you so choosethose particular flavors) and the staff is extremely friendly, always in good moods and have great senses of humor.Tonight I had the Yellow Cake and White Chocolate Oreo in a waffle cone which was still warm. Big thumbs up all around.

We make a point of stopping here every time we are in Helena. They have some very unique flavors that should definitely be tried even if they dont sound like they would go in ice cream. I had the coconut lemon curry, and the kids liked it so well that we had to go back for more the next day before we left town.

Love how late its open!! But the line can wrap around the corner when its busy. They have all kinds of flavors like black liquorice, coffee, birthday cake, and sorbets. And you can make them into shakes or sundaes :) Theres a place to sit upstairs as well, and they have a water cooler for guests.

I love their daily selection of ice cream. They are always different and use real ingredients. I just had their gingerbread ice cream. It was delicious. If you have never had their ice cream you need to stop here. During the summer expect large lines due to the popularity of the place.

My wife and I come here all the time and we got such great service by Maran and Caroline that we were motivated to do a review.As soon we walked Maran welcomed us and had a big inviting smile. She patiently waited for us to make our selection. Caroline was awesome as well, making sure to get our order right and being super nice. Great ice cream! Great service! Very busy! Fast! Crowded! Go early afternoon to avoid the crowds. In addition to a wide selection of flavors, they always have 3 new flavors that seem to change daily. Quality isnt cheap, and they ask for a tip, but they serve like fast food.

Good ice cream, needs more of the mixed in bits. For example, the vanilla and Reeses needs a lot more Reeses.

The prices arent bad at all and the selection of flavors is a good one. I tried both the bubblegum ice cream and the tangerine sorbet and they were both delicious.The closest I could think of as far as complaints are concerned would be that there were no chunks of actual bubblegum in the ice cream like I prefer...but that didnt diminish the flavor.
