Fun nostalgic place for a treat. Enjoyed the soda fountain and jukebox!

How could you not LOVE this place? Such a blast from the past. Loved sitting at the bar top and ordering old fashion sodas and picking sweets to eat from the case. My two year old was amazed by their jukebox and the whole place became her dance floor. Don’t miss this gem if you’re in Helena.

Candy was wonderful! Chili dogs were good but could have been heated up a little better. Overall recommend

Orange Freeze and the chili were amazing!

They have really good everything! They are also very nice and helpful! I come from Great Falls and order stuff for the whole family, so had a lot to pick up. The girl that helped me also helped carry everything out to my truck. Our favorites are the chili and almond butter toffee.

Great chocolate and a fun environment. Limited option for lunch, the food is good. The freezes and shakes and malt are fantastic.

As quaint and as delicious now as it was 60 years ago when I first went there as a kid. Sweet!!

Fantastic chocolates. Salted milk chocolate Caramels are bomb! So are the hay stacks :) very friendly staff as well.

DON’T buy the food, even though it sounds tempting on the menu. We ordered the chili and the chicken tamales. They were served up moments after we ordered, soggy and barely lukewarm. Tamales were just a pile of mush. The chili came with no crackers, waitress didn’t tell us they didn’t have any until after we received it and had to ask, despite it being listed as part of the chili dish on the menu. I felt ill after trying one bite of each dish. We left right away. Two stars for the decor and maybe the candy is good.

Absolutely love the nostalgia of this place!! From the candy counter to the soda fountain, everything we tried was delicious. DO NOT miss out of a bowl of chili, you’ll regret it. And adding the apple cider vinegar enhances it 10x!!

I am 23 years old and my Montana-native mother has been taking me to the Parrot since I was born. It NEVER fails to disappoint. The confectionery is a perfect blend of nostalgia, sweet treats, and fantastic food. The service is friendly and one of my favorite pastimes is looking into the glass case and selecting chocolate candies. I almost always get a small bowl of chili with an All Around Chocolate malt. It is to die for. Not only should the Parrot be known for their amazing sweet treats but their chili is also delicious. I highly recommend visiting this jewel in downtown Helena!

As I have said before: a favorite historic haunt for lunch and treats. Lovely environment. Pleasant staff. Today, a Mexican Lime for my sister; a perennial favorite for all of us and one order of handmade vanilla ice cream with a pitcher of housemade hot fudge. Devine. For her,Cinnamon fondant mints , and for me, dark chocolate covered ginger pieces for later.

Going here was a giant impulse, but it was so worth it!! Delectable candy

Recieved my box of thin mints ?...in the mail today, in Mi. Perfect condition and just as good as I remember...I saw the picture of carmel apples and my mouth actually watered...I remember those too. We used to bring our preschoolers down for field trips......WONDERFUL place...

This place is a must stop for anyone visiting Helena. Great selection of handmade candies. Drinks, ice cream, and chili also on the menu in the old school soda bar. They have a functioning juke box thats worth putting quarters in. Good ole nostalgia at its best! Its located along the outdoor walking mall.

Native of our state and travel Highway #12 frequently, but first time at Parrot, or even to Last Chance Gulch. Usually on a tight schedule.Good friend Lori Micken & I decided to meet for a catch-up visit , half way for both of us, at her favorite hangout. Well, I was delighted by the physical character and history of the internal structure. The owner who actually brought my food, and the nonstop staff charmed me immediately.Thanks to all of you who made my visit to the Parrot so very pleasant. My best to you for the coming year. This is a classic old-time soda fountain and confectionery, and its been a part of Helenas old downtown for a really long time. If youre only in town for a day or two, and you dont have time to visit very many places, arguably this is one of those you should not miss. Especially if you have an extreme sweet-tooth.

Perfect spot for your sweet tooth and ideal for gifts. Everyone loves a box of Parrot chocolates.

It is such a throw back, the chilli is great. The decor with all the sweets is a neat blend.

Great little candy shop with confections made on-sight. I think the store has been a locally owned Helena fixture since before 1945. Try the dark chocolate huckleberry cream - a seasonal favorite.

What a cool place!This 96-year old soda fountain and chocolate shop is a definite throwback! They are the only place I have ever been to that serves phosphates for just $1. I cant recommend this place highly enough.

I love the setup and service. When you walk into the store, you feel as if youre instantly transported back to the era of confectionaries and jukeboxes. The candy is delicious and has a wide assortment available.

Perfect place to recall the good ol days. Staff is pleasant, knowledgeable and friendly. The confections are good and the homemade sodas are even better. Never got to try the food, but Ive yet to hear a complaint.

A favorite place for my family to have lunch, feel good, and get something sweet. Try the cherry coke if you get the chance! They have other tasty beverages too. There is also a real jukebox you can play songs on for 25 cents.

The staff is friendly and the chili is a must. I recommend this if you are in the Helena area.

Wonderful range of selections and flavors. I had some Turkish delight, and it was great. I would definitely get a treat or gift from there again.

Huckleberry bon bons are absolutely scrumptious!!! They are a little pricey and customer service is super rushed. But, all in all worth it. :)

Good looking candy and very homey establishment but only had 4 flavors of icecream, nothing outstanding, and the toppings (such as: chocolate syrup or marshmellow) werent that great. And pricey. The workers were good it seemed like.

This is candy store is like stepping back in time. It looks like it came right out of the 30s and 40s. They have excellent chocalate and candy. They also serve lunch, but the candy is the main draw. They also have ice cream as well. This is a favorite spot and a perserved bit of history.

Customer service here is worse than lousy...it doesnt exist!! While traveling across Montana, my husband stopped into the store to order a pound of mints, etc. After arriving home 4 hours later, he finds that the employee has given him the incorrect product. After a call to the store to explain and, hopefully, resolve the problem, the response was NOTHING!!! After telling the man who answered the phone about the problem, he replied okay and hung up the phone. I then emailed the store...STILL NO RESPONSE. My husband spent $35 there that day but NEVER AGAIN!!! The product is good...but certainly not that good. It has left a very bad taste in our mouth for this retailer and their lack of customer service.
