Very local feel inside. Little sketchy on the outside. As of writing they do not have a mechanic to repair rentals (according to their sign. Vast selection for parties and other expensive machinery and tools. Little bit pricey for per-day rentals. 4/5 would recommend for large parties.

I am very disappointed to say that my experience was not great. When I began renting with Party Plus that service seemed satisfactory. I rented several items for a wedding. At my wedding we started the BBQ grill for it to heat up, after waiting nearly an hour, most of the burners would not heat up. We were able to cook about three burgers on a five foot grill. Some local wedding guests ended up going home and getting their grill to use. Sadly at this time it was getting past dinner, and some guests ended up leaving and getting food, and some came back. It was a real disappointment. When we brought the items back in the morning the manager had it tested to make sure we were telling the truth. They started it for some time and she insisted that it worked. My brother-in-law then stuck his hand in it, closed the lid (yes, it was still running) and has no burns/was able to leave it there as it did not warm up. The manager then fought with us that it was not true still. The reactions and handling of the situation was very sad. The manager was extremely rude and argumentative, even after we had rented several other items. All we asked for was the refund of the grill that did not work. After two phone calls and sticking an arm in the grill, she refunded a portion, but this was a very hard thing to get. The portion that was not returned was $50 cleaning fee for the few burgers we put on there before others brought grills. I will attach a picture of their invoice stating it is a $30 cleaning fee. Now, I do understand it was not completely cleaned from a few burgers, and shame on me for that, but the grill got set aside and forgot about as it did not work. As a business I would have hoped they would have rectified the situation completely to keep a clean name, but there are not any other big rental stores in Helena, so I guess they believe they can conduct business in this manner. I was very disappointed and strongly suggest, as I will be from here on out, driving to Great Falls or elsewhere.

Beware of these guys. They’re pirates. They have no sense of common courtesy or customer service. Even if you call ahead 3 minutes before closing and ask them to hold the door for an extra 5 minutes, they will shut the doors on you and charge you for holding whatever you rented overnight. You’re better off renting from a place with the sense to remember it’s better to help a guy out and retain his business than to take an extra 40 bucks and never see the guy again, even if it costs you more to rent from elsewhere.I probably wouldn’t have written this except that when I arrived in the lot 2 minutes after closing, their employees saw me, intentionally ignored me, and when I tried to confront them about it, they yelled “We’re closed” out the car window while driving off. After returning the tools the next morning, I told them I wasn’t coming back after such treatment. They said, “Good.”

Not a friendly place. The older man that helped me and my brother was not friendly and very hard to understand. It was obvious that he didnt like us, Im assuming because we are younger adults. He didnt explain anything to us, just grabbed an auger and silently turned it on and off before walking away. Definitely never going to rent from A-1 again.

We DO NOT recommend this company. We rented a bill jack that didnt work and were charged for it. We were told that we were not going to be changed.

They got what you need and are not crowded.

I use A-1 a lot! Dan and his team are always helpful and efficient. The last item I rented was a chipper to mulch my corn stalks. For some reason it would immediately plug up. I called them (phone number was right on the equipment). They said to bring it back. No charges, since it didnt do what I needed. Service like this is what makes them a delight to work with. And Dan, the owner, was not there. That is the culture he has created!

I rented a trailer to move my car and they gave me one that was completely busted and the lights on the trailer did not work at all the only time they worked is if I wiggled the wires. I will not be using them again I highly recommend using someone else. I could of gotten a ticket because of these people.

Very few times Ive been here that I didnt get exactly what I was looking for. If you know its going to be a popular item you should definitely call a couple days ahead because they are busy. Theyre always very helpful and very knowledgeable.

I rented a power rake and a lawn vacuum over a weekend and A-1 did a fantastic job. They me in and out quickly and their prices are better than reasonable. Customer service was great and the equipment worked nicely.

They prepared a balloon bouquet for me which were inconsistently filled up, some were over inflated and some only half filled up with helium. Three minutes after I left one of the over inflated balloons popped. I went back right away and asked if I could be given a credit or refund for the one that popped. They refused and did not seem to care that I was leaving an unhappy customer. Will not be returning.

I went to the party side..was made the best balloon bouquet.

Rented an air compressor to blow out our sprinklers. Got the compressor home all set up ready to go and it wouldnt start after several tries and checking connections, we called to let them know we could not get it started. I asked if I could come and pick up a different one and if there would be some kind of discount for their faulty equipment. The much older man with the accent who is hard to understand told me it was the way we were starting it. I informed him again that it will not starting. I brought back the faulty compressor and their yard guy couldnt get it to start either. I asked to get another compressor and the older man told me he would not rent another to me because my husband never paid for the original rental. I didnt have my purse with so I asked if I could pay for it when I brought it back. He told no rental. I will be talking to the owners. I was extremely disappointed. We rent from you every rental we ever need. Will be looking at other options because I refuse to deal with that man again. Highly disappointed that the compressor looked piecemeal together and wouldnt start but most disappointed of all of the customer service given.

Had a miscommunication and had the wrong piece of equipment ready for pick up, they helped get what I needed for the next day. Customer service was good.

If you want safe, well maintained equipment A1 is not your place. I have actually been warned by others over the years about this issue but went there anyway...my bad.After months of planning and only a small window to get projects around the house done during the time off from work, we reserved a mini excavator to use over the 4th of july. My husband who is familiar with heavy equipment picked up the mini ex, not only did we not get the trailer to go with it that I was told would come with it, but he could tell right from the get go that the tracks of the mini ex were in horrible condition, with huge slices up and down them, and visual signs that the tracks had ran off the track numerous times. Luckily my husband thought to take pictures and do a walk around before leaving. After getting it to out property, my husband couldnt even get it started to get it off the trailer, he ended up have to hold the bateery cable in just the right spot to get it started. Once he finally figured out the secret trick to get it running, he started the lightest of our projects which was digging a small (2ftx5ft) hole, which it did no problems....then the problems began, as he went to move the equipment I personally saw the track stretch in a place that was badly damaged previosly start to come off from the equipment. He stopped immediately and called them, letting them know that we only had this window in time to get our work done. He was told by Randy (a-1 mechanic?) they would call back with a fix. Randy got back to him and told him that he talked to the owners and if he could get the mini ex back on the trailer and back to a-1 that we could pick up another mini ex and that he was putting us down for the last one.....my husband spent forever, stressing the whole time,  trying to get their p.o.s. equipment back on to the trailer that wasnt ideal at all for limping onto......after he finally got it loaded back on without damaging anything, he took it back to a-1 only to find that not only did Randy lie by telling him we could pick up another one, but the ass-hat even had to nerve to insinuate that my husband cause their p.o.s. to fail....and only after my husband asked to talk to an owner and told him that he had pictures of his walk around did Randy pull his head out of his backside and say it wasnt my husbands fault.....we got porked, wasted time and money....went out of our way to help a-1 (we had to responsibility to get there broke p.o.s. back on their trailer) and end result is we werent able to get anything accomplished......what a ridiculous experience

Filled balloons I bought online for a good price

The service was absolutely offensive. The girls that work there are rude and very unacomedationg! Considering there products are extreme over priced one would expect at least a smile when we enter their establishment. They told me the dance floor that I ordered for my wedding would fit 60 people! It held only 20 at best. Then when I returned the dance floor they charged me a cleaning deposit of $55. I was extreme disappointed and will NEVER EVER return to A1 rentals in helena. I will travel to butte or great falls before I rent for them again. You should be ashamed of yourselves.Sincerely,Discussed bride
