Went to the archery section, immediately was waited on. The manager was very helpful. Gave sound advice, worked on a piece of equipment, and totally knew what to do. Very good stuff. satisfied with the supervisor

Looking for shorts, had about 3 different pairs. The help completely ignored me. 3 of them walked past me, not one said hello or can I help you. I will never go back to this store. Id give no stars if I could.

Most of the people in guns are top notch but I’d say the the gentleman that told my FFL transfer I hadn’t filled out any paperwork or even been in the store today should be moved to clothing. He argued with me about not being there until I told him I had a receipt for the merchandise I bought. If you want a 1000$ gun I’m sure they can help, but if you want a 50$ transfer they aren’t interested.

Capitol Sports has been around a long time and will be for the future. It doesnt matter which department all of these folks are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Prices arent bad and service is excellent.

Ive bought stuff here for years. The last time I went in looking for a new bow. The young guy at the archery counter barely acknowledged me when I told him I was shopping for a bow. He was fletching arrows and apparently that was more important than a potential $500-1000 purchase. Thats fine. Ill take my business somewhere else.

Capital Sports did a fantastic repair to my Colt .380. In addition to having multiple rounds rounds jammed in it, the slide was stuck....making my gun resemble modern art. Capital Sports even fixed the problem the gun always had where the first round out of the magazine jammed. I recommend them for any kind of cleaning or gun repair.

Waited at the firearms counter for 15 minutes was not even acknowledged. Genuinely poor service will not spend momey again

With gunsmithing that is cheap and good, though less often fast - but thats because theyre cheap and good, and therefore busy. Given the other tradeoffs, they do with in the way Id prefer. Wonderful people.

Friendly people who knows their jobs. Great place to shop from clothing to firearms and fishing gear. Just got a new fly rod and reel from them. It was a bargain.

I have shopped here twice and asked questions over the phone. Employees are always willing to assist even if I am lack definitive knowledge on what I am leaving looking for.

Capital Sports of Helena Montana has a great selection of outdoor products!My first trip there and I browsed around the whole store a bit. The customer service was helpful and nice.I took my bow in to the archery department for a tune up and got it adjusted for $30. Not a bad deal at all!Would say check em out if youre ever in the area.

Capitals archery shop (Shawn & Nick) were GREAT to deal with. Nick was super patient with my wife, who is a first time bow buyer. He took as much time as she needed to find the right bow and to set it up so it was right for her. He wasnt pushy, and didnt try to sell the most expensive items in the shop. Competent guys at this shop! Definitely recommend them!

I like this store. Get good advice from archery dept. Helped fit & set up a bow earlier this year. Their archery stock is a tad low but hey....its archery season!!

For a local sporting goods store this is probably the best in the entire Helena valley. The employees behind the counter are friendly helpful and knowledgeable. If youre going to be making a firearms purchase definitely the gentleman behind the counter are the ones to talk with they will talk you through the purchase make sure its the right purchase for you and assist you in whatever you need. Dave and his crew are top-notch.

I purchased a used M9A1 from Capital sports less than a month ago. I noticed some pitting on the top the barrel and the salesman, Sal, was able to knock the price down a little. I got it out the the range and was shooting awful groups. Bad enough to where I figured it couldn’t just be my poor aim. Got home and inspected the gun a little closer. There was some barely noticeable scratches on the crown of the muzzle. I brought it back and the gunsmith ,Tyler, threw it on the lathe and refinished it for me. Had it back in a few hours, free of charge. Great service! Will be back.

I LOVE spending time in Capital Sports! I fish, and I find everything I need for a great day on the water, in the store. If you need fishing advice, talk to Bart. He knows so much! Ive also bought a couple of rifles and a hand gun there and the people are amazing. They also have clothes, boots and shoes, and hunting gear.

Great little sports store!

Went in to Capital Sports today, to see if I could clear up peep sight issue on my bow. Sean fixed me up with a verifier for my 66 year old eyes. I was in and out in less than a half hour. Shot at home from several ranges that had been difficult for me, what a difference! As long as Capital continues to provide good quality at a fair price, along with knowledgeable staff, theyve got my business. Thanks again!

I have shopped here since is was a little kid, but I made some Christmas purchases and cant return them. I have the receipt and items are unused and still in packing. Return policy is 30 days. So beware while shopping for gifts. Great store and selection though. I have since added a star as management reached out to help rectify this issue.

Outstanding experience with FFL transfer completed today. They held my rifle for two days waiting for my local dealer to contact them and waiting for me to complete my flight home. Professional and fulfilled every word of our hand shake agreement.

As always, the Capital Sports crew is knowledgeable and helpful and provided exactly what I needed exactly when I needed it. Daughter needed a rooftop cargo box (yuppie coffin) for a cross-country trip in 2 weeks. I checked the online options and never even considered CS until I googled locally looking for a used unit. CS had the Yakima brand, top of the line, Memorial Day Sale, brand new, for less than I could order one on the web. And the guys helped me get it on the roof! Great store, great environment, great staff. Why look elsewhere?

This a pretty decent general sporting goods store that is locally owned and not a national franchise. They may not always have exactly what I am looking for, but they almost always have something that will do. They sometimes have some pretty good sales, but except for that, dont come here expecting any bargains!

Capital Sports is a great local business in Helena. Engaged owner, highly professional staff, consistent high quality merchandise. Recently purchased a safe that developed a problem after delivery, and Capital Sports quickly arranged for a replacement, delivered without charge, and then transferred the warranty. This is my go to location for everything from boots to maps and all manner of outdoor gear.

The gun counter was excellent to work with. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Their selection was a bit limited compared to some places but the prices were fair and I was able to get what I wanted.

I took my gun to here to get it fixed. They took a very long time to fix it without much of any explanation after the times I called to check on the progress. (Over like a month or two). They ended up getting it done eventually and I was relieved. I paid for the service and was satisfied with the work. After thinking about it though I wrote a 1 star review on google because I thought they were pretty slow...big deal right?! Well this is where it gets interesting. I get a call from the store owner one day, and I am curious A. How he got my number? and B. What is this about?The owner of Capital Sports and Western called to ask about my 1 star review left on google. He used the work ticket from my gun that got serviced and some how had the lack of brain cells to call me and try to BULLY me into writing a good review!Is that even legal? I certainly think unprofessional and unethical. I still support them on occasion and am not a complete chump about the situation. I love their bow shop! But what nerve to call and bully me about my review!

The staff at the Archery Shop are terrific. They are extremely helpful and go out of their way to take care of customers. If you are new to archery or have been at it a while and looking for friendly helpful staff this is the place to go.

This was my first time going here. I was happy with the environment. They have a wide veriety of Simms gear. I was happy to see an employee sitting at a table tying flies. My boyfriend who goes there a lot told me they tie most of the streamers themselves. To me thats really cool knowing could look the guybin the face that made the fly I am buying. I was happy with the shop.

Im new to town and I was attempting to sell my gun. Keaton C. Santos really helped me out. I have been to places where they didnt even bother looking at my gun, and just wrote down the serial number. However, Keaton displayed fantastic service by asking me questions and providing me with the best options and price. Im very thankful for the gunsmith staff at Capital, especially Tyler. Tyler has done a number of things for me over the past few years, from light trigger work on an AR, repairing a Valmet made Savage O/U that decided to torch both barrels with one trigger pull (and thats not a common shotgun), he took great care installing a recoil pad on my Citori Feather Lightning and lately dropping a Timney into a really nice .257AI 98 Mauser. He is a pleasure to talk to and I trust and admire his craftsmanship. Helena is lucky to have him call this his home.

What a joke this has to be the worst place I have been they had no problem taking my 20 dollars to use less than 3 months or range time but didnt bother to tell me since I moved here they wont sell me a gun. Cool I will just stand out front on public land and tell everyone about this bullshit store.
