I want to thank John and everyone else at this Midas location. I was visiting the area from out of town (Rochester, NY area, so quite a distance away). I recently went to have all new bakes and tires put on my car at another garage near my home, and when I reached Haverstraw, my car sounded AWFUL. I brought my car here to have it looked at and come to find out, the people who had previously worked on my car did a terrible job. The rear brake caliper was missing a bolt and the other one was loose. All of the bolts were loose, so they redid everything to make sure my car was safe for the 5+ hour drive home later that day. John even texted a couple of days later to make sure I made it back safe and that everything was okay with my car. My car sounds great now! Thank you so much guys :)

Biggest SCAM and RIPOFF place ever!!!!! Please, STAY AWAY. I had my Jeep in for oil change, and they simply did that. I also have Lexus CT200H, and it has high milage. Now, this is where the vampire work came in: I took CT 200H for oil change. They claimed that they were busy and that I can leave it for 2 hours. Approximately 45 min later, the Service Writer John Esposito called me and went on for what my car needs to be 100%. He knew that I would be concern since it has about 178,000 miles. He recommend that I replace Spark Plugs, Air Filter and Cooling System Fluid, do Alignment, and use Fuel System Cleaner. For some reason, I was between exams, and was dealing with some work related issue. So, I was not even thinking at all about his suggestions. In back of my mind, I know the car needed little tune up, so I said yes to his suggestion for service. Even though the price ($1200) sounded too high for that job, I was concern about having my car in better shape. So, I tried to negotiate, and he told me that he will give me 10% discount. Overall, we agreed to $812.21. 3 OR SO HOURS LATER, he called me to pick up the car. I get there, used a credit card for payment. I get the invoice, and that is when things started to come to the light!!! $69.99 for synthetic oil change on 1.8 liter car! By the way, CT200H is identical to Prius, same engine size, same company, almost same value, except one logo say Lexus, and other one is Toyota. $42.98 Air Filter instead of $10, $84.99 for Fuel System Cleaner, $99.99 for Cooling Fluid, $424.27 for Spark Plugs replacement, when one cost less than $10, the priced it at $51.32 each, $218.99 for labor. Extremely overpriced!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! $89.99 for Alignment, they did not do, or I did not need!!! Next day, I opened the car hood, and realized also that cooling fluid was only added in one tank, because the second tank stayed unopened and unfilled. I called John, and he had me return the car. I expressed my concern on the pricing and he was like he can show me the items invoice. Never did, because I confronted him on the spark plugs price alone, and he right the knew I did my homework, sadly for me, late!!! He then asking how he can make me happy since I was not satisfied? He offered 2 free oil change. Without drama, I left, knowing that I will never go back there as they can easily break ones car and make things worst. Some of the reviewer mentioned it. OVER OVER OVER PRICING AND THEY STILL DONT DO ANY WORK OR PROPER WORK ON THE CARS!!!! I also, got one clipper lost. We all know that businesses have to survive by making profit, but any exaggeration is bad for any business survival. Either they purposely doing it to loose customers, file for bankruptcy, and collect tax payers money through the loopholes only God knows!!! Based on many real reviews, they are known for doing to customers. So sad to see people loose their sense of moral over money. Not even $200 is needed to do my job. here i am wasted almost $900 on credit card that will become thousands if i mess up. Shame!!!!!!

Yesterday I went to this place to find out how much cost for replacement the window wipers.when I walked into the office it was very quiet and no customer . I asked how much cost for change the window wipers for my car? The staff name Tony said need check it and let me stay inside wait. about 10 minutes late another staff came back and said it was changed.staff Tony told me that I had to pay $65.35. I am very angry they replaced it without telling me price and overpriced. I paid and I would not come back again!

I have out of state plates and needed to have my vehicle inspected immediately to request an extension. With no appointment they agreed to fit me in to their busy schedule and provided me we quailty work and excellente customer service. Based on this experience I would recommend them to anyone and I myself would definitely go back for future service. I rate them 5 Stars.

Went there for brake change which was complete rip off then had to go back because my AC started leaking in my car. Took there next day again, guy just looked and asked me to make appointment and come other day. So I took it to another mechanic and found out someone intentionally shoved something in the AC tube.

Ever since my car got a new condensor and compressor my car hasn’t been the same it sounds fine and smooth when ac is off but when ac is on it’s a whole different sound. Bought it back twice . Idk what to do I saved the receipt and I’m planning to take it back down and tell them to fix it for free cause they put the parts in. And they can’t say it’s the motor blower because there’s a new one in there. The old one wasn’t working at all

A COMPLETE RIP OFFUNNECESSARY BRAKE JOB DONEI went for the annual inspection and was told I would need rear brakes before it wouldpass. I agreed and my son told me he had hem installed three in 2017 during and inspection. I returned with the original bill and there was only 20,000 miles on the car since then They only returned $80 for the pads and not the $200 for the rotors.

They are very honest about what needs to be done to my car and the pricing. Also they make sure that I don’t leave the lot with any problems, they double check their work. Dont waste your time or money!!!! The worst mechanic shop I ever went to. Serviced my rear diff there and had to go back multiple times (about 4 to 5 times) due to the first job they did was HORRIBLE! So bad that my rear diff had to be replaced (used). And to top it off, 3 months later the rear diff was not bolted right at all that today I found my rear diff hanging. Also I had to replace my back tire (both) lung nuts and wheel studs because someone with no experience wore down the threading and also there were some lug nuts missing as well. I do have warranty for my rear diff at this place but I didnt bother because I cant trust the job they did on my car. Please I beg you not to come here. The staff seemed friendly but the mechanic experience here and organization is lacking BIG TIME!! You want a GREAT AUTO SHOP to go to, 260 Auto on 9W, WAY BETTER SERVICE FOR YOUR CAR!

Im only giving them one star because I cant give them zero. First of all the managers here need to go back to school educate themselves on running a business. These people are incompetent and they are very rude. Especially the manager Miguel, who tried scamming me into buying parts for a failed inspection. The car was in perfect condition and it ended up passing at a different shop. They said my motor mounts and brakes were bad. My motors mounts arent even part of the NY state inspection and you can only fail the safety part of the inspection if the brakes pads are worn down were its metal on metal with the rotors. The people here deliberately fail people to scam you into buying unnecessary parts. This shop is a disgrace to all the other Midas. They have new mechanics inspecting vehicles without a NY state licensed only to have the other mechanic use his own license and apply the sticker. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! STAY AWAY!!!

I badly needed new tires on my minivan and went to Midas after some local places didnt have regular tires in stock ( I guess it was tire day). Anyway the front desk guy was super friendly and was able to get me in and out in an hour after I told him that I needed pick some one up. The price was fair and I left happy.

Made an appointment ahead of time for 1:30 8/8/2019. The manager Don assured me I was good to go. I called a half hour before I made the trip to the shop as well to confirm and was told I was set to go. Came on time and was told by the employee on duty Manny that I wasn’t in the system and I needed to wait because other cars are there. I made an appointment and pushed that point but I was then told I could drop it off and wait and “by 6 it’ll be done”. no, I made an appointment and I needed it done then. It takes 30 minutes for an alignment. Very unprofessional. Never returning.

I cannot comprehend how a person can live with himself, trying to scam a person out of over $1300, and call it a free alignment, just to get me back into the shop. That is what Don, the manager of this location tried to do to me. Im just glad that I was smart enough to not only go to my regular, trustworthy shop, but I also went to another Midas location who both confirmed that I DID NOT need my steering rack and pinion replaced, as Don stated, even sticking to that when I confronted him! Disgusting way of running a business. I cant help but wonder who he has successfully scammed. That is why I am writing this review. Hopefully others will be spared.

I had a line burst that was connected to my antifreeze reserve tank to my radiator. Had my car towed to the shop because it was the only one open on Sunday. When my girlfriend said that she wanted to talk to her father about the problem the Manager rudely said you can talk to him all you want but its not going to fix the problem and that they would be able too and we would never have to worry about it again. Well here I am the sh.tty Jerry rigged job that was so called custom made parts were all connected with 5 hose clamps. Im pretty sure if the correct parts were applied and the car was properly fixed the line wouldnt have burst last night leaving me a handicapped person with a disabled car on the side of the road last night. So much for what the Manager said never have to worry about it again.

I am only giving a one star because I cannot rate a zero. My experience with Midas was the worst EVER. How can a supposedly “reputable” business take advantage of clients the way that they do and get away with it! My vehicle was taken to them on October 5th and just returned on the 11th if October. According to Midas I needed a rear Axle and then of course I needed a rear differential. My Axle repair was approved and paid for by my warranty company and due to the delay for the adjusters report to be reviewed I decided to pay out of pocket my the differential. My Husband was quoted it would be an additional $650.00 charge to replace the differential. We were advised the vehicle would be ready for pick up at 4 on the 11th. Upon arriving we were presented with a bill for over $1000.00??? What happened to the $650 original quote? And they love to play the game of well “Don the manager is not here and I am just the middle man” you work for Midas don’t you? And miscommunication amongst the staff is not the paying consumers affair. Upon driving my vehicle the next morning... why am I not surprised that the vehicle is still handling the exact same way prior to me taking my car in for service. I have filed a complaint with the FTC and the Bureau if Automotive Repair. This is a major inconvenience and is taking up valuable time but this is unacceptable business practices. At my discretion I am demanding immediate response and resolution to avoid any further action taken against Midas. This is so dishonest I cannot believe that get away with this time and time again! I will be having my vehicle inspected to confirm what repairs were or were not completed by Midas. Do not go to them and if you do and have received satisfactory service then maybe this is a deeper matter that needs to be investigated. All consumers should receive equal service!UPDATE!!! went to Midas to express concerns about the horrible experience... Midas’ exact words to my husband “ Honda sent them defected parts and the rear shocks exploded” I have a family with children that I drive in this vehicle on a daily basis! This is unacceptable. And then they tell my Husband that “ he has to drive to Westchester to pick up the needed parts to correct this issue!!!”. Unacceptable! Now Westchester does not have the parts needed so I am back at square one.. an unsafe vehicle that cannot be driven and lousy assistance from Midas! So now my complaints will be filed against Midas and Honda. How does this happen and why would not one person who “specializes” in repairing vehicles not be able to identify faulty parts??? Flabbergasted at this situation. I won’t hold my breath to hear from a Midas supervisor I will be taking matters into my own hands!

This place is the biggest rip off in the world. Every time Ive had to go there - they try to get you for something that is in no need of repair. They quoted my over $2,500 in labor and $800 in parts for a simple job. I went online purchased all parts for $32+$8 shipping..... $40 on parts they quoted me for $800. And that was only one part out of who knows how many I needed... I purchased a total of 8 for $40 online myself. Went to another reputable shop in the area & was quoted $100. $100 DOLLARS ! ! ! !! !! !! !! Midas is the biggest rip off in the world. This isnt the first time this happened. ANother time I simply needed a HID light switched out.... They told me the electric system in the car short circuited cause water got into the light.... I get home... And what happened? The light wasnt even plug in all the way.... I can go for days about this place complaining about there services.....I HATE THIS PLACE NEVER GO HERE EVER. TAKE YOUR CAR SOME PLACE ELSE. I went there to get my brakes done and was told about a rebate. The manager gave me all the paperwork to send for the rebate. I eventually get a letter that I was missing some info that the Midas failed to include in the paperwork. Rebate place refused to call them the guy on the phone said its not his job. When I went to the location they werent of much help. Both sides should of took initiative to get this resolved but it wasnt their job so not going back there.

I was thinking about going here after work. After the conversation I had over the phone I will never step foot in this place. Very unprofessional. The CEO of Midas should call and act as a customer and see what I am talking about. This would be a good place for UNDERCOVER BOSS. This Midas in Haverstraw should be shut down!I went there for an inspection. They failed my inspection which I paid $40.00 for because my brakes needed to be fixed apparently. They told me itd be $500.00 to fix the brakes on my 2013 car. They then tried to push me into putting it all onto one of their credit cards. I said Id get back to them and again, they tried pushing me into it... Now I know why.I went to Pepboys and they said there was nothing wrong with my brakes! They passed my inspection with no problem.To make matters worse, Midas failed me for no reason and I had to drive around for at least a week with no inspection sticker and in that time, I got pulled over specifically for not having my car inspected and got an almost $200.00 ticket!! I should really sue these con-artists at Midas but instead Ill just contribute to the trashing of their reputation.

I went there to have my car checked out due to a noise. Miguel (manager ) claimed it was my shocks when I clearly told him my shocks were newly installed. They convinced me to have the repair done and it turned out it wasnt chocks problem. Then they told me it was something else that would cost me $1200 on top of the $767 I already paid them. I kindly asked them to reinstall the my front shocks back and refund me my money. Then Miguel who said he was in charged, starting cussing he was very disrespectful to me and and his employees. He said Id have to pay them $300 eventhough the job was undone. He refused to refund me my money. The worst place to bring your car.

I went there last year under a different management (Miguel)and they saved me a lot of money on engine work I needed,tthey also gote for many other issues that didnt exist and took almost a year for my car to stop shaking upon braking, I paid for 3 89.99 alignments when they are only 49.99 @midas, however in May almost a year later another Midas Nanuet was telling me I needed the same engine work, I took it back to Haverstraw and the New Manager John had the Mechanics take a look and made sure all was done with a very pleasant attitude @ 7:30 am. Great service, affordable pricing and definitely faster than I expected! They even offer a midas credit card if you can’t pay for everything right away. Car repair is something I don’t understand but, The new manager there takes the time to break everything down for you so even this clueless blonde gets it lol. I appreciate the fact someone is willing to explain everything to me rather than just showing me a bill. I finally understand what’s a priority and what are things I can wait to work on!I highly recommend this Midas in Haverstraw!! I no longer feel like I’m being ripped off when I walk into a repair shop and I will only be going to this location with all of my vehicles from now on! Very Happy customer! Got a nail in my tire on my way home last night. Unfortunately didn’t realize that was the problem till I got home. Damaged the tire and decided to go in because I got the tires through Midas and bought the protection plan last year in feb. sat there for nearly 2 hrs until the manager called nyack to get my invoice sent over to find out they never put the plan on it. Stated that I declined it! I spent almost 1000.00 there for 2 new tires an alignment and a rear wheel bearing. Why wouldn’t I spend an extra 20 bucks for the protection and I was told I had it! Also I asked why we couldn’t find this out earlier I would have not been over 2 hrs late for work. They said they needed to see the damage first. You didn’t need to see the tire to find out they never put the plan on them. All of this could have been avoided but instead of calling nyack Midas at 840 to find out they waited to call till nearly 1030. During joes 2 cigarette breaks he could have called! I’m never going back and I will never recommend Midas to anyone ever.

This is the worst Midas by far. I got the oil change today and the Dominican guy was trying to sell me a more expensive synthetic oil and told me my brakes were bad. Kept pushing for me to replace the brakes (they are not worn out) and do the inspection there. He was very rude. Also, he refused to do the tire rotation the coupon offered with the oils change. Needless to say, I will never go back there. Stay away !!!!!

Avoided a major scam at Midas today. My inspection was up, so I went in to get it checked. I failed on tires (which were less than 1 year old), rear brakes (less than 2 years old), and the parking brake. Estimated repair: $919.I refused to pay, and since I failed they removed the sticker and told me the cops were out since it was the beginning of the month, so I should be careful since I was driving an uninspected vehicle. I said I was headed to hyundai and I was warned that they would find the same things and i should just take care of it now.I left and on the way out met a man who was being charged $600 due to a failed inspection.I went to my local mechanic, he did a full inspection, checked everything they claimed was wrong and said everything was fine. He charged me $10.

They wanted to charge me 900$ for parts and 4,000 for labor when I went online found all the 9 pieces I needed for my car for only $100 and went to another mechanic that only charged $150 to put the parts in!!! Honestly I dont want to give any star to this location. I recently had a terrible experience from the manager of Midas Haverstraw location. I went to this location for the annual inspection and they told me that I need to do both front and rear brake services including both front and rear parts. I replaced both front and rear parts in 2012 at different location of Midas . Midas location in Haverstraw, NY charged for the brake parts which I replaced in 2012. As per Midas guarantee policy there shouldnt be no charge on parts. I dont have the invoice with me when I paid for the brake service. They overcharged for the brake service and told me that they wont pass the inspection until I change the brake parts. Next day I went to the facility along with the invoice of the services I did in 2012 and he doesnt want to refund the money I paid for the parts. I have two vehicles and been a regular customer with Midas many years. The manager was so rude and disrespectful to me. I contacted the Midas Headquarters and still waiting for their response.I never experienced such a bad customer experience from anywhere else in the past. I never recommend this location to anyone.

I brought my Jeep in yesterday because I had a transmission line leak and an oil pan leak. They charged me $1,200 but I had to get the problem fixed because I am traveling soon. I get my jeep back and my steering was suddenly no longer working correctly. I had to call the next day because they were closed and when I asked them about what they did on my Jeep to be sure about things, Manuel laughed at me on the phone and was completely rude.

The truth I did not like at all charge a lot of money to me they charged me $ 450 to change the brakes and disc front when the boy told me the price I was shocked I changed it because I needed it on that same day because I was far away and for the atra brakes I did the same in another mechanic only cost me 200 dollars all new. I no longer return to midas
