April:Very helpful staff, they helped me pick out my first Bass yesterday, and recommended a good size for me. There are a lot of options to choose from this store from strings and bags, to full size and short scale guitars!Update: Wednesday, June 2ndI came in fully prepared to not buy a guitar, as I was only looking for in the future. The man that greeted me was very nice, and not pushy whatsoever. It made the experience a whole lot better, as I didnt feel pressured to buy anything. I ended up walking out with an amp, killer new guitar and a cable! The guitar was cheap compared to other stores! The man played a little on the guitar (which me being a beginner, really helped me figure out how it would sound with my playing style without me having to be advanced!!))and got a nice tone set up for me. He threw in a few picks as well! Definitely support your local stores! Since the last time I was helped with buying my first bass here, Ive made it a place I come back to every time I visit Havelock!

This review is long overdue. Guitars etc is my favorite place to go for guitar and music needs. It is also one of my favorite places to spend time in general. In total I have purchased one electric guitar, one bass, six pedals, nine patch cables, three slides, two guitar straps, two daisy chains for a single power supply, two cases, and other varying guitar accessories. I have also had repair on my acoustic done there. I have never had a bad experience at this place in all my countless times visiting. The customer service is the best around where extremely well educated and passionate owners help to find everything you need and give you the opportunity to test equipment there at the store. If they don’t have the gear for you in store they will order it and have it shipped there as ion as possible with no extra cost. I have never regretted any of my purchases from here. Everything is great quality and reliable. If you’re unsure where to go for repair or gear needs, wonder no more. Guitars etc is the best option for you in the area. Hands down.

Love this local guitar shop! They have a good selection of instruments, strings and even luthier repair items to make it easy for those of us that work on guitars. Good little privately owned and operated guitar shop. You got to stop by and check it out when your in the New Bern area.

Been here a few times to get things for a guitar and drum set. The people here are nice and helpful. Its kinda small but good to have a music store in the area. They are the only one in town. It is a good place though.

I’ve known Pete for over 30 years. Even though I am in Morehead city it is worth the drive to Havelock. He is very knowledgeable and has great prices.

The owner, Mister Pete, was the one who first taught me how to string my guitar. That was 20 years ago. A few days ago, he sold me my first ukulele. I have always enjoyed going in there and shooting the breeze with Pete and the associates there, or his friendly wife. Everyone in there has always been super helpful, kind, courteous, and respectful. They are knowledgeable on all of their equipment, and have advise me, given my price range and interests, to Great instruments. I now live in Raleigh and I patiently waited until my most recent visit to the area to purchase the aforementioned ukulele. I love supporting local shops, and local business people, and its a pleasure to support Guitars Etc.

Best Guitar Store in the area period. Has every last minute thing you need for your gig, and then some. Pete is very knowledgeable. Guitar Lessons are great, too. Tim makes the guitar fun to learn.

The little old lady there was helpful. My son was looking for certain strings for his bass. She told him the reason behind the neon colored strings. They are to replicate GuitarSmith game for PS4.

I love this place, employees are friendly and make you feel welcome, they have a lot of items in store but offer to order anything they dont have in stock for you. All around great experiences every time i visit, unlike some of the other music instrument store options in the New Bern/Havelock area.

I went out of my way to visit this place while on a trip, and was sadly underwhelmed. Way overpriced stuff, clutter, and maybe I was just there on a bad day, but the person working was short and kinda rude. We ended up not buying what I had intended to, which is a bummer, as I love finding little mom and pop music shops. Not the best experience.
