We love academy! My boys are always so excited to go here! This is the absolute best place for all of our needs! Cashiers are always super friendly and work very fast to get the lines down! Love love love academy!!

They were helpful in giving my daughter another mask when she dropped hers. The lines were a bit long when I was there around 6:00 PM.The store was clean and spread out. Staff were always readily accessible and available. The inventory was well stocked. No one that worked there had bad manners, even the young ones.The equipment was clean and organized as it should have been. I visited the shoes and softball equipment. There could have been more but it was enough for what we needed. The bathrooms were decent, but the sinks were clean and the sensors worked on the first try.

My employer no longer allows sneaker type shoes to be worn so I came to this location to buy some work boots.It was Very close to closing time so we did our best to hurry so as not to waste any of the employees time.Typically finding shoes in my size (14) is a hassle but luckily we were able to find a suitable pair and went to check out.At this point there was one lady behind the counter checking people out.Again it was Minutes to closing time and a substantial line had accumulated hurriedly waiting to check out.Instead of doing her best to check the line of customers out in a timely manner she decided to talk to one customer for an extended amount of time about what their favorite sodas were.REALLY!?!?You didnt SEE the line of people waiting to get out!?She finally completes the transaction and the NEXT customer decided it was time to hang out a bit and share Baby photos!!!!Even More people in line.Luckily a young lady took over register one and a young man took over the other register and started checking us all out.I didnt get the womans name but I Promise you NOONE in line Cared about what her favorite soda was or what she thought about some random persons baby photographs.When youre behind the register.ESPECIALLY if there is a long line of customers waiting and youre the only one working.DO YOUR JOB!!!!

The service is always good and they have a lot of open registers.

Came in the store 15 mins till closing. Someone asked if I could use help. Well yes sir I do. Need a rain suit gonna work in this hurricane thats coming. He says hold on brb and left. Waited 4 mins and said o well walked a few more isles and i found them all while lady on intercom every 2 mins store is closing finished up. Or come back in morning. So ran and paid left 17 dollar tip so God bless and please understand I was trying to get out as fast as possible

I went in there around 845pm tonight! I had purchased a pellet pistol a while back that I havent shot yet because I didnt get any ammo! I went in to purchase some! First off I asked an associate there if he knew where the ammo was located. He pointed in a direction and said it was over there, then turned around and continued his conversation with another worker there! I went in the direction he pointed and eventually found some ammo!I didnt know what I needed so I went to the gun counter and asked the associate there what I needed! He said I needed a certain caliber which I had no clue what he was saying! I NEEDED HELP! He said it was over where I came from! I went back, clueless! Then on the loudspeaker, they said they were closing in 5 minutes, i grabbed some different ammo and went back to the gun counter where the associate was standing! I asked if either of these was the right ammo and he said no! Then he started back doing something else! I NEEDED HELP!! HE WASNT INTERESTED! NEEDLESS TO SAY, I WALKED OUT OF THERE WITH NO AMMO AND NO HELP! I WOSH I COULD RETURN THE GUN I PURCHASED!! THAT WAS HORRIBLE! I KNOW I WAS THERE LATE, BUT YOU WORK UNTIL THE LAST CUSTOMER IS SATOSFIED, RIGHT?!!! ILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!

Being a retail store manager myself I understand the constraints and the issues that arrive running a big bo retail location but the staff has definitely gotten to where there needs to be some structure. Usually lots of employees standing around. You have to wait for long periods of time before someone will even attempt to offer assistance. I was purchasing some ammunition and noticed another employee wanting to make a purchase for multiples of the same box. The limit is displayed for all to see. I understand there are always perks to every job but if your employees are going to blatantly violate your own policy in front of customers there my be some backlash. Just food for thought.

Order a Oklahoma Joe Smoker on line went to pick it up and they brought the floor model out,, did not want it but was told that’s all they had in the store, ask for a discount because I seen some items were not performed properly at installation and it seemed to me some other items maybe missing, was told they could not make any adjustments to price but was willing to give me two $5.00 Gift cards, I told them no just credit it back, I really did not want the floor model.. Funny how no other place will sell floor models???

Not busy at all to be a Saturday.Alot of shelves were empty.

Clean, well organized, fairly well stocked, and convenient. Wish they carried some well made tents from reputable companies. The tents that they carry arent ones I would want to spend a week or two living out of in any weather other than dry. The one I bought there leaked a lot, glad I tested it before going to the Tetons and Yellowstone.

You need out door equipment theyve got it. The is one of my favorite places to go and just look. I usually end up buying something. they also have a great selection of shoes and clothes.

Wouldnt let me in without a mask. I have asthma, so they discriminated against me for having a disability. Never shopping at academy ever again and will be telling everyone I come in contact with that use to buy there hunting gear from them.

Left my phone in the shoe section yesterday after trying on some shoes. Left went to the front paid for my shoes and realized I was missing my phone. Luckily an employee working the area found it and had taken to the service counter. I really appreciate your guys honesty and promp return of my phone. I also love my new lacrosse boots thanks guys.

Great store. Wonderful sporting equipment and clothing. Nice workout section also. I’m also happy that all the guns are kinda isolated in one area so I don’t have to look at them or have my kids see them.-The staff are also well informed, kind, and easy to find!

I really enjoy shopping here when I need outdoor gear or workout clothing. I absolutely hate checking out here. They apparently hire the cashiers that Wal-Mart rejects for being too slow. The last four times Ive been in this store, theyve had only two or three registers going, with their cashiers working EXTREMELY SLOWLY, to the point that I have spent 5 minutes in the store picking up my item, and waited nearly 25 minutes in the checkout line. These days, I have to need something badly, that I cant find anywhere else in town or wait for it to come in the mail, to even consider shopping there. And thats truly a shame because otherwise they have a very nice store.

They have about everything here. However I dont care for their clothes. All the materials have polyester or rayon added to themI like 100 % cotton clothes. They need to add this to their clothes selection. I do not like stretchy fabric. Its not only them, getting hard to fine cotton clothes in as n store. Thats what we get when other countries make our clothes.

Employees all around but only 1 checkout out of 14 open for customers to check out ! When I retire I know where to go to make for easy work. All I have to do is stand around!

Gabriel at the Hattiesburg, MS store helped me place a footwear online order & gave excellent customer service! He was patient and attentive with me even though lots of other customers were around, some dropping shoes on the floor. All-around great employee!

I was told they didnt carry the product I was inquiring about, cut off mid sentence and told to ...HAVE A NICE DAY!!!. After being rudely shoooed off, I ordered said product online and picked it up a few hours later without a problem.
