I have always had a great experience here, the owner has never been rude to me, in fact he offered me a great deal! To be honest, I think maybe if you are rude you might get rude back? We don’t really haggle in Minnesota unless you know the person pretty well so I would just assume that prices are as marked. I think the prices here are great too, I have walked out with bags and bags of treasure. I was hesitant because of the other two gripey reviews, but I am so glad I ignored them. Always take gripe reviews with a grain of salt. I can’t imagine giving a local small business a bad review unless it really crossed the line and it could actually harm someone to shop there. Usually the gripers are the gripes!

I’ve never been treated so horribly by a store clerk before. I tried to had him change for my items and he apparently couldn’t figure it, so he tossed me my money back and told me to leave. He took my items behind the counter and told me that he doesn’t like it when customers give him change. I will never return here after that experience, it was EXTREMELY rude. There is a lovely antique store across the street that is much better and friendlier.

My husband and I were browsing through the antiques shops in downtown Hastings with our grandchildren who live here. We are from Florida. We have been to Hastings many times before and the people here are kind and respectful except the owner of this shop. My grandson found a game he liked and I kindly suggested a small discount of $1.00. The man got so heated up. He called me rude and told me I wasnt a good example to my grandchildren. I wanted him to have the game so I paid the price on the tag. While at the check out he was still insulting me. I told him i got you, but there was no stopping him.He has a heart of stone! We were leaving the store and I told him I hope you have a better day! He responded I will once you leave my shop!. What a bitter man... Never encountered anybody like him.

Rudest Store Clerk on the Planet !!! Walk on by this shop if you would like to have a good day ...

Came across this shop on our way at home from an awesome weekend in RedWing for our anniversary; decided to do a little antiquing on the way...we are very experienced antique hunters as anyone who knows us - so when my husband spotted a goose decoy set he liked, he decided to add it to his collection...the shop clerk ran his card using the chip reader, it wouldnt read, so my husband tried two other cards, all with the same results! I gave him mine, same results!! I then took out a check and proceeded to write a check, at which he rudely told us he would not take a check from us because his machine did not like us...now, any one who antiques know that MOST shops will actually give you a 10-20% off just for using a check- WE just prefer to use a card! And if I would have thought of it faster, I would have asked him to use his card and see what happened!!? We left, without the decoys, and with a very negative attitude about our time in Hastings! Never been there antiquing before and wont be back!! Oh, and for the record- when I got in our vehicle as we drove away, I tried to access his Facebook page only to discover that their page wouldnt load, but I could access other pages...obviously his whole shop was off the grid!! Wow!! Speechless and disappointed!! (Got 1 star because you cant give less)
