Bought a 2003 Jeep from there. No fluids period. Had to stop at the auto supply store down the street. Overpriced with hidden fee’s. I’ve put more money into this vehicle then I bought it for.Wouldn’t recommend this place to no one. Don’t go to this place.Every week they need police there because they are ripping people off.One woman went away crying because the vehicle she purchased stopped outside the gate. And she was depending on that car to get her home which was in another state. These people are only interested in your money.

Fraud, nothing else. Selling illegally after working hours, cash only deals. Vehicles are total junk. Wont let you drive either. Treat everyone like criminals. Avoid them if possible.

This is the worst auction Ive dealt with. They have the worst customer service. No one there can even answer my questions. I purchased a car there and they deposited the check without sending the title to me. When I would call to get them to send it out they told me it was already sent out. This happened 3 times before they finally admitted that the title was never sent out. They had that title for over 5 weeks all while telling me it was going out. They even gave me a fake tracking number. They were so quick to deposit the payment but extremely lazy and slow when it came to sending the title out. When I talked to the manager about it he wanted to charge me a fedex fee to send it. He finally realized how incapable his employees were so he agreed to pay the fee at the end.

Horrible service. The man who runs dealership services doesnt know how to communicate. His response was idk. If you call things will never get done, if you show up they still wont. They said out lies release was invalid, and we took it back and at the bottom it explained all companies were one, also they had a car on our account we sold over a year ago and charged us all fees and such, when I brought to his attention he basically refused a refund, said idk and excuse, said he doesnt know how long itll take. And I repeated to him, what he told me if you call things wont get done so does that mean I have to come here everyday to get an answer or our money back for your mistake, he said I dont know. What a joke. Unprofessional. Dont deal with him. Dont waste your time.

Stay away from this rotten lemon lot. Dealers take all half decent cars before you even see them. Yet they still have the decent vehicles displayed online. Pulling a pure bait and switch trick. Very unprofessional and sketchy operation. People posted up smoking weed before you enter. Police visiting parking lot intermittently not for the activity outside but the reaction to the criminals inside. Steal peoples hard earned money. They literally brought out the same dusty vehicles over and over for 3 hours. These are the scraps left from repos. All were in very bad shape like no one ever performed maintenance.

This place advertised that they had a car for sale for 7500 and come to find out that wasnt true its an auction and you have to bid on the cars. So ticked off

They always go over things with you and let you know what is needed and reasonable prices and Fees. If things change they inform you and let you decide what to do. Do not waste your valuable time your hard earned money on this establishment their customer service is the absolute worst I have never had an experience like this, as a dealership we all know sometimes cars come out bad and titles take a little long to receive but when 2 months pass and there is no title and they don’t want to take the car back or give you your money back that is just plain unethical and ridiculous.

Mean people trying to push roached out cars for ridiculous prices... was told and push out the door and all I wanted was to see the car running up close not from 10 feet away WHAT ARE YOU HIDING........

The worst place to go buy a car they have me waiting for 5 hours after I purchase my car

The auction is cool but if u only have like $1000.00 the auction will not let u leave without buying your registration & licenses plate from them & thats extra $375 unless u bring in your old registration from a previous vechile, that is not expired.. If u c a car at the auction u have 2 wait till aiction is over & put half down, the thing about that is, when u ask the assistance 2buy the car flat out, two of them said the car was sold & then tried 2add $200 on the price... Its best 2 go get a feel b4 buying because they r sneaky with bringing those prices up...

This was a horrible experience and felt unsafe the whole time I was there and felt violated afterwards. What everyone said about them not answering any question is beyond true, same goes for their rudeness. They let you see the cars they have in the lot but its to no avail because you cant turn the car on, check mileage and some of the cars hood wouldnt open. After the hour you are to go back into the garage where they will run ALL the cars through the auction even the ones you are not interested in (sometimes twice). They insult you and coerce you into buying a car. if you bid and get the car they immediately ask you to go to the back room Alone (they are very strict about this) and you have to put a 25% down payment. You can not actually purchase the car right away until the auction is over. The worst part has yet to come!! Once you have put your down payment the dealers pay you no attention and will ignore any question you have. At this point if you do anything they dont like (even if its talking to other people there) they will and can ask you to leave the property and a cop will escort you out. So if you did not get a signed copy of your deposit then you are not really assured anything at that point. It seems like everyone that works there could care less about you (even the cops). I will now list out some of the disclaimers they have.-All sales are final-There is a 25% down payment on the bid right away, $99 auction fee, $160 for the title and all the other sales tax and fees that added over $700.- If the car is unsafe to drive or has any issues that were not in the description then they are not responsible. It is up to the buyer to check and inspect the car. ( this is why they do not answer any questions about the car)-You can be asked to leave at any time.-They are not responsible for your safety while on their property......

Great dealer auction with amazing management. They provide fully functional cars, and great service along with it. They understand their customers. Very organized process in showing cars. They have a variety of car models.

So I went to the auction and asked about an online deal. An employee I asked about the truck told me it was a 4x4, but I could not inspect it before buying, and took my $600 down payment before I could even see the truck. Then the fees...they got me the vehicle for the price online, plus about $500 extra in unstated fees. They do sell to the public at their public auction. But Id only recommend it if you know vehicles well.

The service was great.We dealt with South Chicago auto auction and he was awesome. We bought a Buick LaCrosse and have no regrets. Well definitely deal with them again the next time were in the market for a vehicle.

Horrible experience they gave me a copy of the title and when I called them to get the issue fixed I was constantly being hung up on and told not to call back. Place is shady! Someone call the better business bureau on this people something ain’t right! Was the car stolen and now I’m screwed?!

Terrible employee customer service and bad employee attitudes. I wouldnt want to stop here ever again. Plus they rigged up cars sold as is. Makes it valuable to take a mechanic with you when shopping for an auction car. Never will I trust a place like this again.

Buyer beware. I bid $900 for a 2006 Chrysler Sebring convertible. They have hidden fees that they do not want to talk about and only appear in the fine print on the bidders agreement. $225 for one fee, $150 for another and then $450 for tax, title and registration. All told expect to pay almost an extra $1000 over your winning bid and they wont tell you upfront how much its going to be they just demand a down payment after you bid and you have to wait till the end of the auction to find out how much more you oh before they let you take the car home. Admittedly I got the car for about half the Kelleys Blue Book value but its going to require a few thousand dollars worth of work to make it good.

PLEASE READI used to work here and Im only writing this review to help people get a better understanding of the place. First off, if you are thinking about buying a car from here, dont. The cars are all crap and before they bring them through the drive thru, they jump-start about 70% of them. Next, they dont tell you the fees over the phone or in the paper because the owner of the place forbids it. Its an easy way to get money for him. Also, dont call asking if they still have the vehicle you are thinking about getting or the condition it is in because no matter what car you ask for, they will tell you that they still have it and its in great condition just to get you to come. The only thing I liked about the place was the experience in seeing an auction house.

Went their yesterday because they had a car advertised on AutoTrader! Guess what? It wasnt Their! It looks like Cash for Clunkers! Only less than 5 cars out of several hundred look decent. They dont let you start them or drive them! Who would buy some like that? Kept asking a lot of questions and it seem like nobody had no straight answers. I Guess Thats Why They Call Cook County , Crook County.

Look closely at the positive reviews. They are of one nationality with little review history. Therefore, most of the positive reviews are fake or paid for.I have personal experience related to this auction house. Several years ago I owned a small car dealership. I can attest that the staff are dishonest and shady at best. I have also heard of several occasions of ODOMETER FRAUD taking place as well.

Our experience was more than we expected. Preview of the car discussion of price was handled very professionally and thoroughly. We had several questions which were answered to our satisfaction. The auction fee was very cheap.

The staff at South Chicago auto auction were very helpful, flexible, and even held the cars for a week so I could pick it up at a later time. They had a great selection of quality vehicles that were reasonably priced.

This place is the MOST deceiving, misleading business I have ever seen.All car that are on their web page inventory are just a bait for you to come to this place, because NON- of those vehicles listed in the inventory are to be found in their lot. Not Only that, there are certain vehicles you can see and check and other that you are not allowed! And the ones you are allowed to see, these vehicles do not come to the bidding floor, Neither You are not allow to see the mileage on the car you are biding!! If you are a first time o want to go there for the first time, be AWARE! Its is sooo freaking confusing that almost feel like you are dealing with crooks and thugs!! I paid $5 thousand dollars for a 2008 Rogue SL with 231,000.00 thousand miles in it!! Had I known, there is no way in hell I would have bought this car. Asking for my money back? Forget it! 80% of their personal carry guns!! By the way, all those 5 stars review that you read here are people that work there...if you have or believe you were victim of a fraud or abuse fill out a complaint with the Illinois State Attorney, the BBB, write to your State representative, Senator, review them of all media channels

We drove 3 hours from Indiana came to South Chicago auction. We had minor complications with finding cars. The inventory is very large. The staff was very friendly and helped us with finding the right cars. So I had to test many vehicles to find the right fit. The Salesman Aatef had no problems showing me many cars and finding good cars . The pricing was very fair and you pay for what you get. The general manager Mr. Khaldoon was very helpful and personally with us . There was no pressure in buying anything was awesome to bids with . If you are looking for a decent cars at a decent price I would strongly recommend this auction ..!

Employees didnt understand what I needed and played hot potato passing me around until finally someone stepped in and helped. Parking is poorly marked a the lot is a gravel and rock mess.

Employees are Rude! They say that they will open at 11 am and that is actually the time that the employees start walking in to remove the snow. The charges are ridiculous. They charge 20% or more for Taxes. this is the last place you want to go if you want to buy a car.

Went for an online deal. I told them thats what i was there.Got there at 5. They made me wait til 6 for the auction to start. Then kept telling me that they would help me get it but kept me waiting through the entire auction time from 6 until the time I got sick of it and left.I never got the car, they said i either had to buy it even before i saw it, or i had to wait until the end of the auction to see it and i would not get a detailed look until i had purchased it and was ready to take it off the lot. There was no returns accepted.I asked 2 other people that were waiting for online deals and they ran them through all the same hoops.For an auction it might be ok but dont go for the online deals, unless, you are willing to wait or go late so you dont have to wait.

I baught 3 cars and they sent them to canada and they were perfect . im very happy with the service .

I bought a car there ( crazy me) because I didnt know how they were and had to borrow money to pay after all the Carmen Sandiego fees.. Dont buy there and ( yall stop responding saying yall are dealer only!!!) Thats a dang lie.... If I wasnt such a decent driver, my car wouldnt have made it from Chicago to Alabama before the transmission failed.. The car had 230 something thousand miles that I didnt know about. Have visited South Chicago Auto Auction not long ago, wanted to sell my mustang but the fee was higher than expected. Checked out other places and came across repokar with only $60. Earned more than $2000 on it. Ill use it again soon to sell my Grand Cherokee

I bought a 1991 Mercedes Benz back in 2005, I negotiated a bid for $2200, it took me 2 weeks to get the car because after the fees the cost was over $3000. When I picked the car up they had to jump the car to start it and I ended paying $1000+ to fix the problems with the vehicle. You have to bid extremely low to get a good deal i dont think they go low. Its more auctions in the chicagoland area thats alot better, you have to be careful and keep in mind that the price you bid add $500-$1000 to it for all the fees.

Very unhelpful and RUDE!!! When I tried to get a copy of the bill of sale since I misplaced mine they wanted to charge me $50!! I tried to have the dealer that I was trading the piece of junk in to get a better car (I cut my losses with these people) they wouldnt even talk to the other dealer! Beware! Beware! Beware!

This is a scam company. They refuse to tell you anything about the cars. I asked about the mileage on one and they gave me a written speech stating You come to our lot on Wednesdays at 5:30 to view the car for only 1 hour. You are not allowed to drive the car or start it. Also you HAVE to purchase the car you looked at, at 6:00.... LOLThese people are a serious Joke. They are also scamming craigslist, Ebay, and other car buying sites.

No can help you at this Aution. Everyone want to get your money as soon as possible.You get a car in aution like $2000, but you have to paymore than you think. Call buy premium charges (about 20% depening on your deal) is lying to people. They dont tell you before you make a deal and sign a paper. They are not honest people I never seen. They are not reatialer or shop why they have right to get extra money buy premium. Also, you have to pay for $99 aution fee. This is me like that. When I pick up this car, I meet another guy is same. He told me they sold car on line price is alway lower than aution. It is true. Although, I know it and bring the paper to ask worker inside. They dont tell me this story. I dont recoment any people go this place. If you want to go, you must be with people know them and becare what you sign. Dont believe they give any help.
