I went to another stove & fireplace company back in June. Nobody called me to make an appointment to measure or look at my fireplace. I went back 3 more times and still nobody contacted me. After just one visit to South Shore Fireplace Inc., they made the appointment to measure, set the date to install and were totally professional. The crew were all very polite and did an exceptional job cleaning up when finished and explaining all the key maintenance procedures to me.Their prices are more than fair and I will never use anyone else. I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for outstanding customer service, true professional installation and all at a reasonable price.

It was a great pleasure working with this fireplace shop. The Sales Manager, Scott, was most helpful and informative. We initially reached out to South Shore Fireplace because my Wife and I were interested in installing a gas fireplace in our home. Scott came to our home, took measurements and inspected the area the fireplace was to be installed in. He spent quite a bit of time answering our questions and providing us with options that would best suit our needs. Scott helped us facilitate a contractor, an electrician, and a plumber also which was a very big help! The install crew showed up on time and as scheduled and quickly went to work. Once the gas fireplace was installed and gas was brought to the unit, the technician came back to give us a tutorial on the functionality and proper maintenance. Overall an exceptional experience. Thank you South Shore Fireplace & Chimney Chap!

Jon Hurley from the Chimney Chap/South Shore Fireplace visited our house to repair our pellet stove as the top auger wasnt working. He was extremely courteous and professional. After spending time testing the motor and other other parts he discovered the issue was a simple fix and got us back up and running. He didnt even charge us for the visit!! We also use the Chimney Chap to clean our fireplace and and pellet stove and they do an outstanding job!

Exceptional crew here. Came in a couple of months ago and selected a pellet stove. I was really impressed with their knowledge and making sure I selected something that would work best for me. Two weeks later they came and inspected my chimney. Install was done anout a month later. The crew that did the installation was equally knowledgeable and showed me all the ins and outs. I have been using my stove for a month now and runs like a champ. Nice job ladies and gents!

We had an appointment with Scott at South Shore Fireplace this weekend to choose an insert for our oversized central fireplace. He was so knowledgeable that it took us more than an hour just to go over options and choose the right product. He explained every feature and why it was either good or bad for our space. He was super friendly. By comparison, we went to a competitor the week before last. We were in and out having looked at only one model in about 15 minutes with a much higher quote for installation, even though the insert itself cost roughly the same. Were very happy we went with South Shore Fireplace.

I bought a really nice regency gas fireplace from South Shore Fireplace and couldnt have been happier with the way they treated me and completed the installation. They were the most attentive and considerate companies I approached which is why I went with them. We couldnt get the time of day from other fireplace stores. These guys were right on the ball from the start. Spent a lot of time going over the different stoves and options that go with them all. The installation was scheduled and went very well. Installers were very thorough and clean. This was a complete installation, needed the chimney as well as the stove. Everything was done perfectly and I couldnt be happier. Recently, the stove I picked had a recall and I was informed and updated by Scott as soon as he had news. This actually went on for a couple of months but Scott would contact me every couple of weeks and let me know what was going on. When the replacement part came in, they scheduled the work IMMEDIATELY and I met Jon, one of the senior techs and installers. Jon was on time, meticulous and thorough. Very clean and organized as you would expect a master craftsman to be. The repair went very well and made my stove run better than ever before. When your happy with a job someone does for you, you hardly ever write a review but something turns sour, people cant write one quick enough. When I need something done, I go online and read all the awful reviews of probably great companies so I do not hire them. This review is for all of you that are like me and come here to get the low down on a business. Do not hesitate to go with South Shore Fireplace. It is very hard to find craftsman who really care about what they do and also so nice to deal with. South Shore Fireplace will be my go to guys for the rest of my life. Love you guys - job well done and sincere thank you for your continued support throughout the years.

I had an end of year cleaning done of my Quadrafire pellet insert today by Jon Hurley of South Shore Fireplace. Jon did an excellent job and was highly professional, ensuring all my questions were answered before he left. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars is that the price was high for a cleaning that took only 1 hour, not the 2 hours I was told when I got the quote (not by Jon, but a woman in the office). I think they need to base their pricing on actually time versus a fixed price, which it turns out it appears to be.

Had my Quadrafire Classic Bay 1200 Pellet installed today. The installation team did a great job removing my old woodstwood and duct work, then installing the new system. Pleasure working with this company through the process. Cant wait to fire it up when weather not quite 90 degrees outside. ;)

Kyle was helpful and he understood our need of a replacement wood stove and pipes.He do need help as he is the only person there when we went on Saturday afternoon great person to deal with and he didnt rush us even when he knew he had other people there waiting to help.

Beware before making an appt in your home with South Shore Fireplace...We made an appt for a site preview and were not told that there was a fee for this. We had 3 other fireplace installers in for estimates and to look at the installation site and NONE of them charged a fee. What made it really bad was we were unaware until it was time for the guy to leave and then the hand came out for a check for $109. Their pricing was slightly cheaper than the other 3 but we went with someone else because you cannot trust deceptive practices. Dont know what other hidden charges would be next. So bottom line - there should never be a charge for an estimate...if there is you should go somewhere else.

We pruchased a Heat & Glow natural gas fireplace insert in 2014. The first heating season was troouble free. The second season was when the problems started. The unit woud light and burn for about eight seconds and go out. The dealer that we purchased it from made several service calls attempting to identifyand rectify the problem. It was obvious that the techs they sent were not well trained. We gave up on them.We contacted several local stove/fireplace shops and asked for help with the issue. None would touch it because they had not instaled it. Finally we were refered by the manufacturer to South Shore Fireplace. Holly, the woman i dealt woth was uderstanding and most helpful. They sent a tech to us who diagnosed and replaced the necessary part. When he left the unit was working properly. This was in June. When we went to use it at the beginning of the next heating season the same old problem was back.I called Holy at South Shore and she sent Jon Hurley to service the unit. He diagnosed it as the main brain of the unit not working. He returned the next week to install it but on further investigation he identified the transformer leading to that part was only putting out 4 volts when the brain required 6 volts. He did not install the brain, He conferred with the company and they confirmed that the situation would cause the problem. They ordered and installed the new transformer. Problem solved, the unit is working properly.South Shore Fireplace was a pleasure to deal with for us. Holly was most helpful during our several phone calls and emails exchanged. Jon is a professional, courteous and talented technician. I hope to not need any more problem solving but if I do I will call South Shore.

If I could give no stars...or negative stars, I would. This company has some of the worst customer service I have EVER experienced. I am never ever giving them my business and I would advice that you beware.My husband and I just built a brand new house. We went to South Shore Fireplace to get a pellet stove for our new home.First red flag was that they were had to get a hold of. After leaving a few messages we stopped by and were given an odd excuse about them having issues with phones/messages. Then we were told there was no one there who could tell us about the stoves, and I would get a follow up call. We left our info, the size of the house and what we were looking for. I was e-mailed the spec of a pellet stove. I asked if there were other options and was told, no, this was what was recommended for the size of my house. Later, they would complain to my contractor that they didnt understand why I insisted on this particular stove, it was too big for the house. Well, gee, I dont know...I thought trusting the so-called experts was the way to go.Then they gave us the run-around as to when they could deliver/install. There were multiple last minute cancellations for asinine reasons. They also kept complaining about the weight of the stove and why it was so complicated to install. Again, being a company that SELLS these...I would assume this was something they could handle. Any time we tried to complain, the owners wife would get angry and threaten to keep pushing out our install, completely out of spite. I was stunned at the unprofessional attitude she constantly presented.When then first tried to install it, they put it in crookedly. They told me thats just how it had to be. After a little bit of pressure, they fixed it. It also didnt work, at all. They had to get a representative out from the manufacturer and we ended up having to get a new motherboard for this brand new pellet stove.This pellet stove was getting installed in a built in shelving unit. They sent me an e-mail with the specs needed for the insert which I passed along to my contractor. He followed the specs. SSFP sent out people to review, which they did, and said it was okay. Once they installed it (originally they put it in crooked and told me it couldnt be fixed), the building inspector came out, didnt sign off and said he needed to follow up with them. About 3 WEEKS LATER then send me a letter letting me know it wasnt approved and I cant us it. No other follow up. Apparently it was my problem now.My contractor pulled it back out by himself (weird the heaviness didnt seem to be a issue for our contractor) updated per the building inspector and we finally got it approved. Turned it on...and it doesnt work. Then I called SSFP, again leaving several messages and then going in person and was told they couldnt make it out for another week. Frustrated beyond belief at this point, my husband called the manufacturer of the stove directly and then walked through fixing it over the phone. Turns out SSFP didnt calibrate it correctly. So FINALLY after many months we have a working stove, no thanks to South Shore Fireplace.One last sketchy detail. Our original quote from them was supposed to be an all-in turnkey quote. We had paid in full (even though we didnt have a working stove at this point). They reach back out and tell me that I need to pay for them permit. Turns out they didnt pull a permit prior to installing it. They tried to blame us, that I was supposedly my job to know I needed to pull a permit and to go get one. Then told us the permit costs $200. Funny...we called the town and the permit only costs $25.I know this was a novel of a post, but honestly if the only thing you read is this sentence thats fine because Im sum it up: This company is AWFUL. Dont use them. EVER!
