I recently just moved to the area and was looking for some Korean and Japanese ingredients. I was able to find what I wanted, plus some. They have an awesome selection of several different Asian ingredients and the prices are reasonable! I was happy with the selection and the prices.

Compact and fairly small selection of Asian groceries. Not a fan of their kimchi which is just okay. Its a bit bland and is thin on sauce or really lacks any saucy quality in general. Great to have convenient access to an Asian grocery store in the Hampton area though. They usually but not always have what Im looking for if I cant find it in the more limited selection at Kroger/Food Lion.

A little bit pricey on somethings, But it is Convenient and has most of whats needed for those Asian dishes that Foodlion or Kroger dont have ..

This market looks small on the outside, bit that appearance is very deceiving. Three main aisles with a great assortment of goods. Everything from sauces to instant coffees to mochi dessert. I go there for seaweed crisps and chicken gyoza. The checkout offers fresh food on occasion and its always delicious. This is my favorite international market in this area. The staff are very friendly and the place is very well maintained.

This would have 5 stars because it was clean and had some good deals , Meat is expensive....ppl were helpful friendly and polite ....however they over over over charged me on purpose with a smile on her face ...but thats not uncommon to a black customer....however I didnt say anything just paid and did my calculations and yup I was right she over charge me over 100.00 this world is sad just be cautious and add your items up before you go to the register

Great place to find quality Oriental products, vegetables are of good standing. You can find items you never find in the Big Price grocery stores.

I visit this store almost daily; they carry food items you cannot find at some stores and the staff is super nice.

Prices have gone up a lot. Items that they have are very expensive. Cashier could be a little more customer oriented. At this time I would not advise other people to shop there. Before it was a lot better and cashiers had good customer relations.

Okay. I am literally looking for SOMETHING to be disappointed about. I CANNOT FIND IT. Prices are great. They accept EBT. Food is OMG. PERFECT. We have tried their bread cakes, sushi, dumplings, hot sauce, soy, etc. Everything just made me want to buy more. You will not be disappointed. Definitely recommend coming here. Definitely will be back every chance we can get now. Lol

A variety of Oriental foods at modest prices! Fresh vegetables, a large selection of tapioca pearls, noodles, tea, candy, and much more! Staff was polite and even helped me select the proper pearls for bubble tea. Pretty sure they make their own tofu as well. Very impressive!

Ive enjoyed going here for several, several years. My grandmother loves being able to get Asian food and items that remind her of Japan. The prices are reasonable and the staff very kind.I have never had a bad experience here. I will always come back to this place as long as it is standing and I am living in the area.

This place does not look like much from the outside but don’t be fooled. They have EVERYTHING you need to make that amazing oriental dish. I love the fact that I don’t have to drive all the way to Newport News to get my groceries. They have all my Korean snacks. They have fresh produce here as well.

This place is awesome, I have been getting my Kim Chee here for years. yesterday when I went in I got a few more things and struck up a nice conversation about rice wine with the cashier, she doesnt sell it yet but is trying. ABC is getting in the way. She did however tell me where I can find it, and how it was the same style as her home town by the sea.

My fiance and I went into this market with the expectation of finding unagi (eel) . Sure enough, we found what we were looking for and the cashier was very helpful! Im glad this market is close to my house and we can definitely come here as opposed to going all the way to E-Mart off Warwick.

Small Oriental market with predominately Korean products, however there are also other international products as well. Everything you need to make your next Asian inspired dish can be found here. Shop owners are friendly and have been running this store for decades. It is a small place but with a variety of products that go beyond food to some nice accessories for home and kitchen. A good place to explore. Prices are reasonable for mostly imported goods. Also features a fresh produce section and a variety of frozen meats, fish, desserts and other freezer products.

I enjoy going to this small market for authentic oriental items.. the sights and smells of a culture different from my own. Its a family-run business. Everyone I encountered was kind and helpful.

The woman at the cashier is very rude and disrespectful. She is sweet and nice to American customer, but when it comes to Ansian customer, she changes her face so quickly that you wont believe its the same person. Discriminate against your own people wont make you better than anyone else, the other people may not see your double face, but God is watching !

The couple used to run this place were very nice and polite, but don’t know when they changed the owner or something.Now they got this mean woman sit in the counter with horrible service, shame ,with how I’ve been treated . I will never come back and also gonna tell all my friends not to go there !

My go to local Asian grocer. They source and package their vegetables straight from distributors in New York City and are very very fresh. They carry many traditional Asian and Pacific Islander greens.

Amazing people working here ready to help you find what you need or discover products you have not yet seen. Skip the grocery store for Basil, green onion, dill and several other herbs. The quantity, quality and price on herbs are unmatched.

Great buys for vegan items which was my sole purpose for going. But other items are also readily available including raw nuts , fresh fruits and vegetables. And the price is very reasonable. Great varieties of Asian foods as well.

Nice small market that carries a variety of oriental items; rice, noodles, sauces, condiments, seasonings, fresh vegetables, frozen meats and fish and a small selection of cookware. You can expect a friendly staff and fair prices. I go there for nitch items I cant find elsewhere, like Mama brand instant rice porridge (jok cup).

I was in Hampton a few weeks ago to do catering for Dead & Company at Hampton Coliseum. We featured a few Asian dishes that needed ingredients not available at normal supermarkets. I visited a few Asian markets in the area (including Virginia Beach) and the Hampton Oriental Market was the best, hands down. There was an incredible selection, considering the size of the store, but that was not why I felt the need to write a review. The customer service at this store is OUTSTANDING! Yes, I needed to shout that. It is a very busy store, but the cashier still found time to answer my questions and provide recommendations on products. They also will help you bring your bags out to your car, because they dont have shopping carts. A little boy helped me bring out my bags. My bags probably weighed more than he did. When I offered to give him a tip, he ran and said No money! No money!I returned to the store on my second day there and as soon as I walked in, the cashier presented (not handed) me with three dollars, bowed, and apologized for overcharging me for the longans that I purchased the day before. I mean... who does that?! I havent dealt with a more honest merchant in like, ever. And how did she remember what I bought? I was in shock. I told her that it was ok, because I didnt notice and that she should give the cash to the little boy. She refused and continued to apologize profusely. I took the cash reluctantly and decided that I would spend more money in the store.I returned to the store on my third day, because I was still amazed by the honesty of the cashier and wanted to find any excuse to go back there to do my shopping, even though we were done with our Asian dishes and I could have gotten by with Whole Foods or any old supermarket. They had beautiful Fuyu persimmons that were out of this world and giant pomegranates. They also had powdered jellies, like grass jelly, coconut jelly, and almond jelly, that are hard to find in most Asian markets. I grabbed a bunch to bring home for my personal use.If and when Im back in the Hampton area, I will beeline for the Hampton Oriental Market. I will always support honest, hard-working merchants over chain supermarkets.

The owners and staff are always friendly. They mainly carry Asian foods but Ive seen other ethnic foods in there as well. If they dont have what youre looking for theyll order it for you if their suppliers stock it.

This offers authentic Asian food. The only thing I dont like about it is the Goya food products they offer. The owners are very nice. I hope this place stays open a long time ( not much does in Hampton...).

I love this place. Hampton does not have much when it comes to asian grocery stores, so I was glad to find Hampton Oriental Market. This little hidden jewel has a surprising diversity of foods. One of the best features are the large variety of fresh frozen fishes, spices, and sauces. The owners are friendly and the prices are very fair. If you like cooking asian dishes like I do then this​ is a must visit store in your shopping tour.

This place is a legit Asian market. It is a great resource to have for any adventurous cook in Hampton, also anyone who just wants good rice.

A smaller venue, but they have certain fresh meats that I havent seen anywhere else (goat, for example). Quality of the meat is good, and I also saw some seafood I hadnt noticed at other stores. Physical size of the shop is limiting to the non-perishables, but everything you would expect is present so you can one-stop shop if desired. Made some great Pho with ingredients purchased here. Some kitchen items available but their focus is the food. Staff was kind. Neighborhood wasnt the best, but I was definitely glad I went, and plan to go again!

Its the only oriental market I know of in the area, very yummy produce!

I get fresh farm sweet potatoes leaves, sweet potatoes, eddoes, okra, shrimps and crabs from here.

Had a great selection of pretty much anything i would be looking for.

They have a good selection of international spices and seasonings from Asia. I can always find what I want when I have a hankering to cook an Oriental meal
