First time customer here and was contemplating if I needed to purchase a new laptop or not. I brought mine in on a Monday morning needing a new battery as well as a thorough cleaning and updating using computer terminology I am not familiar with. It was ready to be picked up after the battery arrived by Wednesday. All I know is that it is basically brand new and it didn’t break my bank. After looking at every other place in Hagerstown (Lowe’s, home depot, tractor supply, Best Buy, auto parts, etc. ) I still couldn’t find the screw I needed for my dad’s laptop hinge. In a last ditch effort, I decided to visit My Tech. Within 2 minutes, the very nice and helpful employee had found the right screw and even found me a WiFi card for my own laptop. From now on, My Tech is going to be the first place I go to when I need computer help. Highly recommended.

Has an open sign but doesnt mean hes open, have to call 8 times for a response overall pretty unprofessional, didnt even get to try his service quality so I dont even know if hes good or not. Another gentleman was with me and he stood out there for 2 hours calling him constantly and he didnt respond to him for a whole 2 hours he was there so you take what you will out of this

We were having computer trouble, and we brought the computer to Geek Squad first. The Geek Squad were unable or unwilling to do any repairs, but they suggested MY TECH as an alternative. They were right!!We were able to get an appointment with Chris at MY TECH same day, and he was very courteous. He was able to explain the issue quickly and in simple terms. Copy/Pasted from my Yelp review earlier today, figured Id drop it here too: Had a battery malfunction that left my laptops aluminum shell damaged. Took it in the next morning a little after opening, had it back by 1 pm in time for virtual classes (college student). Great pricing and great communication. They not only fixed my battery, but also found the two missing screws inside the case, put them back in place, as well as cleaned the laptop. And now, as Im writing this, Im noticing it looks like they even tightened the hinge a bit as it was getting kinda loose. 12/10 would recommend and will be back for any future computer issues.

By 3 PM I got a call with what was wrong with my computer and a price quote, and by 5 PM I had my computer back. Ive been out to My Tech several times in the last year. I had computer drive and data transfer issues with some new equipment. One of my PC fans was making loud buzzing sounds, another fan was not working at all and the overall fan noise was getting ridiculously loud. It was late in the day and they said theyd call with the quote by the next morning. As promised, they called the next day by late morning/early afternoon with the quote, but it was a lot higher than I expected, so decided it might be better to buy a new system. When I got there though and told them, Chris said hed already done the repair and it was fine either way, so no charge. I couldnt believe it. The PC now sounds like its brand new. Chris seemed like an awesome and friendly guy for the small amount of time I spent talking to him. Took my MacBook Pro here that wouldn’t turn on to get looked at, Chris gave me a free diagnosis of liquid damage and said the cost of replacing each part just wasn’t worth it. The laptop was 7 years old anyway. Saved me a lot of money in the long run. Cool shop, I’ll for sure be back if I have any other problems.

Kindness like that, these days, is difficult to come by and his simple gesture meant so much to my family. We are officially forever customers!!

Had two stripped screws in my laptop screen when trying to replace myself. Brought it in and they had the new screen in within 15 minutes. Fair price, much cheaper than Best Buys Geek Squad.

The owners just really rude (I just said I didnt want them putting stickers on my laptop, their response was deal with it), and when I took my laptop in to get a price quote for repair it took them 3x to give me a quote than they said it would. Will definitely take my laptop else where and leave more 1 stars if I get another rude reply. (And before you ask me to take it down: No. I dont care if youre a small family business you dont get a pass on being rude)

Fast and reasonable. My laptop was stuck in an endless reboot loop and I was worried about salvaging my files and the laptop itself. Dropped it off Thursday afternoon and had it back within 24 hrs.Id say less than 3 hours after dropping it off, they called to give me a price quote and idea of what needed to be done, asking for the okay before proceeding. They ran into additional issues, having to unexpectedly replace the hard drive, which they did, and stuck to the quote price not charging for the replacement part which I am so thankful for!Laptop is up and running smoothly and no files lost. I did lose one program (Adobe Photoshop) but all things considered, Im really grateful for the timeliness, price and overall outcome. Paying less than $200 to repair my laptop as opposed to losing everything and starting anew paying $600+ for a new laptop was exactly what I wanted to do. My Tech delivered and I was not disappointed. Definitely recommend.

Dropped my laptop off in the morning because of booting failure and it was done in two hours as if nothing was wrong with it! Took in my PC for a simple replacement of the charging port/dc jack. They wanted $189.99. I ended up replacing it myself for a $7 part from amazon in 30 minutes with a youtube how to video. The funny thing is I may have payed up to $150, but when they gave that outrageous price I looked up the part and saw 7 bucks. Even if the $7 part gives out 25 times it would still be cheaper. So there is no logic in saying its a cheap part! I would not recommend. They definitely tried to take advantage of an older woman.

Extremely knowledgable and unbelievably low prices. They work on everything i own, the only people i trust. Incredibly fast service too, and you cant beat free diagnostics.

Grossly overcharges for labor. $30 part that was simply plug-in, charged $190.Granted, the laptop wasnt the easiest to work on, but Ill give the benefit of the doubt that it took an experienced tech a total of an hour to disassemble, unplug, plug, and reassemble the machine. (It takes me tops 10 minutes to disassemble). Thats $150 an hour for labor. Thats insane.

I went to get a quote to fix my laptop. They wanted $600.00 to fix it. I thought this was a bit high, so I took it somewhere else for a second opinion. I was able to get my laptop fixed for less than $150.00. Needless to say, I wont be going back. I understand businesses need to make money, but thats ridiculous.

Chris was great to work with, very professional, laid out to me what he was going to do before he did it, and worked a small miracle saving my water damaged laptop. My boyfriend had spilled water on my laptop (which shut itself off). I gave it a few days to dry out, but did not try to restart it. I called Chris before stopping by to see if this was something My Tech did. He told me to drop it off, the earlier in the day the better. It would take him about 2 hours to take it apart and run a diagnostic on my laptop (which was FREE). Meaning if he couldnt repair it he wasnt going to charge me. Who does that these days?After which he would call me and let me know where things stood. So I did exactly that. I dropped off the laptop around 10:30am, and Chris called me back right at 2 hours. Told me that he believed he could repair it (had to do with the various connectors, cleaning and maybe replacing some). It would run $140-170 depending on how much needed to be replaced and how long it would take him. He called me around 12:30 and said that I could pick it up by 4pm. Hes the kicker, if my laptop didnt work he wasnt going to charge me anything. I repeat, HE WASNT GOING TO CHARGE ME IF MY LAPTOP DIDNT WORK. Apparently My Tech guarantees all of their work. Chris saved me from having to buy a new laptop and transfer everything. Plus he cleaned everything inside and out, so its all shiny and new looking. (Ended up costing $170 and in my mind was money very well spent. I had my laptop back same day.) Im just visiting Hagerstown for a few weeks over Christmas. However, if I have any other computer issues while Im in town or on future visits, I know where Im going. Im happy to support this local business!

I inquired about a replacing a cracked back on an iPhone 8Plus and was told it would be “$189 for a back housing replacement.”I was then told to bring the phone in to confirm no other parts are needed. I made arrangements for my S/O to take my phone there. Once there he stated it would be $300 for a back with the Apple Logo.When I received this news and asked why he didn’t tell me that before wasting my time and making arrangements, he placed the blame on me stating I should have been specific.Mind you, an IPhone back comes STANDARD with an Apple Logo. Why would I have needed to specify that? I DO NOT recommend this business because of the misleading information they provided in order to get me to the store.Side Note: I advised them my phone shattered and my car was wrecked on the same day and he assured me they would take care of the phone issue. Using a moment of weakness in order for their come up was very unprofessional and unpleasant.

I have never taken my laptop to anyone but my cousin so I was very weary of coming here. Let me start by saying Chris is totally a man of his word. He called me within two hours to rell me what was wrong with my laptop. Gave me a great price and had it fixed the same day!! He explained everything to me step by step and even reviewed it again when i was picked it up. He is such an honest guy too. He could have made more money by recommending i replace something that i had been told needed replaced and Chris went over the pros and cons of the replacement with me and said i really did not have to do that to improve performance!! I am very impressed and will be going to Chris from now on, though I hope to not have any issues anytime soon!!!

They put a sticker on my laptop without asking and it left residue when I peeled it off. Very obnoxious. Dont put stickers on my things without my permission.

Great people...you deal directly with the owners not some middle man employee ....free estimates unlike some other repair shops....will not try to upsell you on needless add-ons or fancy so called anti-virus apps that invade your computer (not good).....The owner does have a large head however he is well read and does not mind a good conversation....

Brought in a recent high level PC build I was building for my son as a Xmas gift. No boot no beep no video, but getting power to the fans. Figured a second set of experienced eyes could help determine the issue, since I have limited resources to test. Blindly throwing replacement parts at it, and the possible RMA nightmare that entails, was what I was trying to avoid. The staff was very friendly and professional, testing what they could and recommended a replacement motherboard (even though they were not able to test the motherboard or the processor, .....just recommending most likely culprit). I offered to pay for the checkups they did and they declined. Very knowledgeable, classy outfit that I would recommend to everyone. BTW guys, it was the Motherboard. Thanks!
